I love this salon! I've been coming here for about a year now and have recommended it to all my friends. Prior to finding this amazing place, I had been to many high-end salons in Hollywood, Beverly Hills, basically all over the Greater Los Angeles area and either the salons were overpriced, service was inconsistent or the stylists were complete morons.
Keitaro is my go to man at Kasai. He colors my hair beautifully and always does a great job with my hair cut. He's attentive and dedicated to client satisfaction. There was only one time I wasn't happy with the outcome of my hair color which I noticed once I got home. Keitaro fixed it for me for free the next week and I really appreciated that.
Masa or Maica usually assists Keitaro when I am there and they are awesome! I've moved about 45 minutes away (on a good day) from Manhattan Beach but still truck it over there to get my hair done by the best of the best.
Their prices are not cheap, but well worth it. Their client service cannot be beat! -

Made an appointment with Rick and went to Ka Sai yesterday after reading all the rave reviews about it on Yelp. The appointment got off to a rocky start, with a 30 minute wait even with an appointment. Contemplated saving it for another day, but with all the great reviews, decided to stick around and give it a shot.
Explained what I wanted to get done with cut and color (single process and highlights). Rick was very careful about the health of your hair so he definitely makes sure you're not overly processed. He was a little conservative with the hair cut (layers in front, blunt long cut in the back) but that was because we discussed keeping my hair long-ish for an updo for an upcoming event.
Overall, Rick makes sure your hair looks exactly like you want it. He worked on my uncooperative bangs for 10 min, until it looked like what I envisioned. Also, the 30 min wait was long forgotten by the end of the appointment because he even went to feed my meter when it was about to expire (I had foil in my hair).
Will go again next time and give him a little more creative freedom, knowing how much care he takes in making sure his cuts and colors look perfect. -

WOOHOO!! Thanks to Yelp, I found my new salon!
God knows I've been searching HIGH and low for a good salon. Thank goodness I found KASAI on yelp.
The location is great. It's in downtown Manhattan Beach. Parking is the only downside...you have to park in the structure where there are 10 hour parking meters. I spent about 5.5 hrs at the salon...and at $0.25 for 20 minutes, that's about $4.25. I know, i know...that's chump change, but still. I guess if you want to avoid paying for parking, go on a Sunday.
The salon itself is simple yet chic and has great feng shui. The receptionists and assistants are great. They greet you, offer you a drink, and make sure you're comfortable and settled down. One of the assistants was even nice enough to run down to my car to feed the meter when my appointment started to run over.
I first came in last Wednesday to check it out. I spoke with Tiffany, who gave me a consulation for my cut and color. I have highlights that have grown out significantly and layers that needed to be picked up. She seemed like a great stylist to work with, but unfortunately our schedules didn't coincide and she had to refer me to a different stylist. She set me up with Bruce, who she assured would take good care of me, and he really did! Bruce was booked for the day, so he could only do my highlights and I was set with Lori for my cut.
I came in for my appointments on Saturday at 9am. I had Bruce first. Bruce is great! He's friendly, chatty, and very knowledgable. I at first wanted to just go chocolate brown, but during our consulation, he suggested (and very nicely too..not pushy at all!) that I just touch up the highlights. I was a bit hesitant at first but let him do his thing. My hair is super dark and stubborn, so after pulling out the foils, rinsing, and drying my hair, he realized the color didn't take. He right then and there offered to correct it and did it over again (hence the 5 1/2 hrs). The second time around, the color finally turned out. It was subtle and blended in nicely. I was diggin it :)
After highlights, I hopped two chairs over to Lori. Lori is amaaaaazing!! I told her that I wanted to keep the length of my hair, as I'm in the process of growing it out, but wanted to clean up the layers and pick them up for more movement. She listed to EXACTLY what I wanted. The layers frame my face nicely, have great movement, and exaggerate the length of my hair, so now it looks longer than it first started. I LOVE LOVE LOVE my hair.
I find that you get what you pay for, and I had to pay a pretty penny for some pretty hair. I don't mind too much, as long as it makes me happy. And I guess my hang up with the parking meter doesn't matter so much anymore, either. ;) -

I just had to post a review about Kasai hair. I went here after reading reviews on Yelp and L.O.V.E.D. the place. My stylist was Lyda (pronounced Luda) and she has been at the salon for a few weeks having just moved here from the east coast. She gave me the best haircut I've had in years. I'm thrilled to have bounce, volume and shape to my hair for the first time in many many trips to other salons. She was fast, efficient and worth every penny! Can't wait to return!

I'll keep this very simple. Just too expensive for what you get. At $300 for cut and color (after tip), you shouldn't look and feel the same as when you walked in. Assistant does most of the work, stylist is occassionally checking in. Nope. Bye.

The place is really nice (parking was a bit of a hassle) but for the price it was just ok. I paid (after tip) around $300 for cut and color, and the cut looked good for a month or so only. I don't remember the stylist's name, but I have really thick hair and she just didn't thin it out/layer it enough. I didn't notice this because the blowout was so good, but when I went home and did my own hair I could tell. I did go back for her to add additional layers, and she did, but it just didn't work. Maybe it's just me since a lot of stylists tell me I have really thick hair, but for the price I expected something better. This was just average. I wouldn't recommend this place if you have a lot of hair, or your hair is thick.

ABSOLUTELY AMAZING!
I am beyond thrilled and satisfied with Mr. Kasai's work with my hair.
He is very down to earth and approachable, so I was at ease when initially consulting about my hair.
During the consultation, he made me stand up and then he played with my hair for a few minutes so he can get a visual image of what the finish look would be like.
I had long hair that was down to my chest and also damaged from hair color, perm and sun. I wanted something that would remove the damaged/split-end areas, yet I wanted a style that would be easy to grow back into long hair, plus low maintenance for styling.
Mr. Kasai gave me that final push in a very trusting way, which eventually made me decide on a chin length bob cut. I had no second thoughts. Not a bit of hesitance. He was that trustworthy.
And as many of fellow yelpers have mentioned, he again made me stand while he cut my hair. He also asked me to move or tilt my head into certain directions to work around the entire head. This is his work style and I believe it to be a crucial step into creating an ideal look.
Both his scissors and blow drying techniques were articulate and impeccable.
His assistant, (who I unfortunately forgot to ask her name) was friendly and sweet. Very pretty girl who kinda reminded me of Lauren Conrad from the Hills. She gave me a wonderful hair wash and a bit of scalp massage prior to the cut and an initial blow dry after the cut was complete.
Lisa, the receptionist was sweet and helpful as well. She showed me the exact hair product that was used into my hair today prior to blow drying and explained very well the benefits of using that product. I went ahead to purchase it.
Not to forget to mention, the interior of this salon is simple yet very stylish. They had a gorgeous lounge area at the patio.
Kasai Hair also offers a membership card for just $1. Every dollar spent, whether it is service or products, you earn a point. Once you earn certain amount of points, you receive benefits.
I also noticed that they have a very organized computer system that keeps every client on file. Lisa even took a photo of me from the tiny camera set up on the cashier, so she can save it onto my client file. Cool!
I've never spent this much ($120) for a haircut, but it was absolutely WORTH EVERY PENNY for service and experience. Mr. Kasai will bring magic to your hair.
I'm so happy and satisfied with my final look! I'm definitely coming back :)
THANK YOU KASAI HAIR!!! -

Rick is AMAZING!!!! That is the only word that would best describe Rick. He is the second person I've ever let touch my hair.......i was scared but then pleasantly surprised at the great work he did.
My hair is not an easy task to say the least. I have naturally curly hair and i apply a lot of heat to it, which resulted in many split end by the time i arrived to my appointment. Rick gave a lot of good advice on what he thought would be best to do to my hair but at the same time asked a lot of questions to get a better knowledge of what my hair is like and what i'd like it to be. I came in for a cut and a color. He understood exactly how my hair or anyones hair works and what color would go well with my complexion. After he accomplished a rich hair color......he then did what i thought was the impossible.....he straightened and styled my hair. For anyone that has naturally curly hair, you know that its a task in itself for one to get it straight and then an even harder task of a stylist to do it. Rick got it straight but still maintained volume and body as i wanted.
I've since then seen Ricks other work and not only does he do wonders on curly hair but he does wonders on straight/thin hair as well. He's a master hair cutter and if only i had straight hair would i attempt to let work his magic and give me an edgier cut.
Overall, i highly recommend RICK.....You wont be disappointed!!!! -

I was totally surprised when I received a respond from Mr. Kasai regarding my Sep 23 post on Yelp. He told me to call and offered to re do my hair or a full refund. When I talked to Mr. Kasai on the phone, he was extremely sincere in making things right. I went to the salon tonight and Mr. Kasai re did my hair. This time, it is done with precision. I am very happy with the new cut and especially impressed with his caring customer's service. He truly wants to make sure that all his customers are satisfied and happy with the service at his salon.
I will surely return to Kasai for all my future hair services. It is rare that an establishment takes care of their customers in this high level of attention and personal service.
Honestly, I did not expect any respond at all from my previous post. I just wanted to air out. This satisfactory result comes as a total pleasant surprise.

Second review. Fiancee went today. She was the first appointment. She had Bruce, who was a little late showing up, not a concern as everything moved quick from there. She was not impressed and won't be going back.
When I went, the owner was there and provided the perfectionist touch that everyone raves about. He wasn't there and the cut, style etc just didn't live up to the high expectations I had set - unfortunate as I pushed my SO to give it a try.
Recommendation: Schedule when the owner is there. -

Since my first review I've been back twice and I loved each time just as equally. I honestly don't think I'll go to any other salon :x
Masa & Keitaro are so awesome and friendly, as is the rest of the staff. I think today there was a new receptionist because the other girl I've been used to seeing wasn't there...but she was also very polite.

First of all, I love their location! Situated in the lovely Manhattan Beach above a restaurant, the salon has a beautiful view.
The workers are pretty nice, from the lady that I met in the elevator up, to Juliet, the one who washed my hair before the cut. She was really friendly and we chatted it up for a bit. Might I add, she did a great job of washing my hair and making sure I was comfortable. I wish I had someone to wash my hair and massage my head all the time! My hairdresser was Jennifer, or Jenny as she introduced herself. When I first told her what I wanted she was very skeptical in doing so because she thought it would look bad on me. After some convincing, she finally agreed.
Snip snip, chop chop, she started to cut my hair. One thing that was different was that she had me stand up for the first 10 minutes while she was cutting my hair. Hey, whatever works for her, I didn't mind. After about 50 minutes, my hair was done. I had her trim the length, layer it up, and cut straight bangs with longer sides. Then she thinned out my hair. I loved the end result! It was such a change because I never had straight bangs since I was forced to as a kid. My hair felt so much lighter, too!
All my friends, family, coworkers & even strangers love my hair and constatnly compliments it. And most importantly, I love it myself! Great job! I will definitely be back.Listed in: B.o.B

4-8-11 Yes, the location is wonderful....very Zen like. Didn't feel rushed, very friendly staff and I "heart" my cut n color!
Shawna did my color and it was excellent! She asked me lots of questions (but wasn't annoying) to get a feel for what I wanted and in the end, her magic "backroom concoction" was the perfect shade.
Bruce did my cut and he was great! Again, he asked the right questions. Next time I will be a little more adventurous and let him be completely creative!
I highly recommend Kasai Hair in MB....friendly staff, knowledgeable team and a relaxing atmosphere. -

I have to second on Veronica's review. Rick is truly amazing.
I bounce around stylists from Long Beach to Bev Hills. I went to Kasai to try something local in the hopes of finding a salon to hang my hat on. My last futile attempt at gorgeous landed me in BH and I tried to convince myself it was worth the money, drive and parking...but its really not.
Rick does not come across as the typical hair stylist. He's unassuming, quiet, and does not overpromise much. He spent a lot of time examining my hair and muttering about my hair being a "project." He was not impressed with my BH hair, and promised to fix my highlight job as it was really grown out. I was pretty nervous as I had my college reunion coming up that weekend and putting my hair in the hands of a new stylist....I deserve it for waiting until last minute.
Thankfully, I walked out with amazing, head-turning hair. My highlights are as natural as my hair when I was 6. He really has a gift and stands out from all the stylists I've been to before. He's my "knight-stylist in shining armor." The blow dry lasted through the weekend and it still looked great for the reunion.
And yes, the salon itself, is great. Its in a beautiful location, the staff is friendly and not uppity (which is great for Manhattan Beach), and they have a good line of products. I think I've found my salon.... -

Rick Rocks.
Rick (Jaramillo) deserves 4 Stars. He gets hair. I don't know how, or why, but this dude gets it.
I have spent countless, COUNTLESS hours and loads of $$$$ trying to find someone who can cut a head full of fine-ish textured (but lots of it) hair. I swear- I don't have hard hair to cut, which is why, I think so many stylists Eff it up. They're like "OH, you need more layers...(NO, I don't need more layers, because when I blow it dry it will look like a brilliant mullet, due to the fine texture of my hair). or "You're ideal hair length is chin level" (yeah, I know, I've rocked a bob, angled bob, shattered bob and every version therein).
Guess what? Rick listens. He has increased volume and fixed wrecked haircuts like a watchmaker (read: precision) and made(s) me look AB FAB. Rick cuts my hair so it works on every level...and I rarely DO (blowdry, flat iron, style) my hair. It looks great wash and go, quick blowdry or full on gorgeous treatment. It's ALL about the cut.
I got lucky to meet Rick at a previous salon but he has given me 3 solid haircuts to date (8 months apart each time). I trust him, he listens and communicates like no hair stylist I have ever met.
Kasai Manhattan Beach is lucky to have him on staff.
Also Important To Note - I had Jun(e) place clip-in extensions and do styling for a wedding I attended and he did a REALLY fantastic job. He's super funny and nice too. My hair was amazing. Thanks Jun(e) -

I never write a review for anyone but I have found the exception. Went to KASAI HAIR only because of the reviews from Yelp with little expectation and a lot of hope.
I have curly wavy hair and in the four years I have been in L.A. going from $$$$$ salons to $$ no one got it. Well the streak is over and I found Rick who not only got it but did such great work. He knew what I needed even though I had a hard time explaining but made it happen because he knows hair. He not only cut and styled so I can actually take care of it, but he did an awsome job with the color. Need I say more... I have happy hair and will be going back. -

I have been going to Beverly Hills to get my hair done for the last twenty-five years. I worked on Camden Drive for 15 years and lived on the west side most of my life.
I moved to the South Bay years ago but continued going to B.H. for my hair once a month. The price continued going up and I often felt like the receptionists were rude.
My goal, since living in this area, was to find a quality salon like Beverly Hills in the South Bay.so I wouldn't have to pay the price and make the long drive.
I learned about Kasai from the receptionist at Frederic Fekkai Salon (where I used to go). I asked the receptionist at Fekkai if they could recommend a nice salon in the South Bay. They told me Kasai opened his own salon in Manhattan Beach.
From my initial call to the front desk, I was greeted like I was important. Corrine was extremely helpful in every aspect and made me feel so comfortable both on the phone and upon my arrival. I believe the front desk is the first greeting of a salon and Corrine is so professional . You can tell how much she appreciates the business for the Salon. I would have to say, I have never been made to feel this welcome in any salon.
I was referred to Amy Michaels. Amy is adorable and trained with Kasai at Frederic Fekkai. Amy is adorable. Amy will spend time with you to discuss your hair and look at your pictures, Amy will discuss ways to do your own hair at home and may offer suggestions on products and will give you a brief training on using curling irons, or flat irons or round brushes. Amy is really easy going.. Amy doesn't have an attitude. She wants to please "you" the client.
Kasai Hair Salon has a gorgeous outdoor patio overlooking the numerous restaurants and shops and you can see a glimpse of the ocean. I am so lucky to have finally found my new home.
I am a great source of referral and will definitely spread the word :)
The parking can be difficult however. -

Janelle was awesome :)
I brought in two pictures of two different people whose hair i liked. she talked to me about how to style my hair with each of the haircuts in the pictures before letting me decide which haircut i will be going with.
the result? she managed to give me the features i liked best from BOTH haircuts! :)
i am very satisfied with my hair, thanks to Janelle. she was outgoing, easy to talk to and very chill.
i also love how they offer a 20% discount to students with ID. i'm a broke student myself, so with this discount it'll make it easier for me to come back! :D -
Review from Aida A.

Summary: Not really worth it to see Kasai for the big price - he didn't do much work on my hair, really really poor service
Full story:
I hadn't gotten my haircut in a long time (6 months) and the last time I got it cut was probably the best haircut I've ever gotten - tons of layers throughout - just a really impressive job.
I'm really hesitant getting my hair cut because it's usually very costly in the states and you don't get much return.
Whenever I'm abroad, Europe or Asia, the stylists are much cheaper, much better service and do a much better job. - I really don't get why I can't get the same here - and I've gotten haircuts on the East and West Coasts -
When I arrived at the salon I was barely greeted and had to wait almost 30 minutes to finally begin. - bad start right? - it took them 15 minutes to finally offer me something to drink.
I got shampooed and had to wait still for Kasai because he was still finishing up cutting someone else's hair.
He finally got to my hair - he wasn't much for conversation at all - did some placement w/ my hair to see how it would look cut and I think all in all cut for about 20-30 minutes total. I'm not sure what he did because it seems like he just trimmed the layers I already had.
I had to wait 20 more minutes after my blow dry - which left my hair very flat (I had never seen it so flat in my life and I have very thick Middle Eastern hair) - because he took a phone call (he had just come back from SF buying a salon there and apparently had to handle some details).
So it took I think 1.5-2 hours to get my haircut simply because I was kept waiting and had a long, very bad, blow dry.
The previous haircut I had I think was less than 40 minutes - also a Japanese hair stylist, who actually had style (which I would expect from a Japanese stylist since they do so many cool things to their hair) and could hold a great conversation - even though we were communicating through a translator! (this was in Asia)
I received an apology - not from Kasai - but from the receptionist regarding making me wait for him. And when he came back he did nothing except blow dry it a bit more.
So... I won't be going back because of this. Back to my hunt for an adequate hairdresser in the States.
Sidenote: I didn't complain that much because I was really nervous about cutting my hair there for some reason and I thought a cheery attitude might help... but I regret not speaking up at the time. -

**I have paid two and three times (to get very mediocre) as to what I paid to get the best haircut of my life at Kasai Hair by Janelle.**
First of all, at Kasai, you will get the royal treatment. Corinn is the weekend manager, she is so kind and also will be quick to help you find a special and save money while she books you (tip: ask to speak with Corinn and ask for the latest special.)
The salon is beautiful and you will have a relaxing, exquisite experience. You are immediately greeted and offered champagne or a beverage. You will get to change into a robe and have an excellent shampoo massage with your haircut.
Now the best part was Janelle, she is a down to earth, fun, Hawaii loving surfer that will really listen to what you want, understand you, discuss your options, know your hair type, teach you how to style and give you the best haircut of your life because-- Janelle loves hair. She will tell you this and you will find that it is her specialty. Janelle is a true professional and artist in her craft. She is a rare gem.
So I have had the same hair style since I was 12 years old. I have long hair and wanted a change but change is nerve wracking-- Janelle walked me through it. I brought in pictures and then she discussed with me about how long it would take to style, what would be best for my hair type, how to style, etc. Then she cut my hair according to my hair type, giving me my own variation of what I wanted.
My hair looks great (sexy), I get lots of compliments (attention) and most of all I am really happy and really impressed with Kasai Hair. -

Janelle is my hair's new best friend.
I moved to this side of town about a year ago and had not had a decent haircut since then. Read the reviews for Kasai and decided to give them a whirl.
The reviews are all spot on, I'm happy to say!!
The salon is lovely and tranquil, they made me a cappuccino, and Janelle talked to me about my hair and took the time to understand what I was hoping for (ultra-low-maintenance, fuss-free, travel-friendly, wash-and-go hair... that still looks awesome and stylish) -- and voila! She created a beautiful shape out of my scraggly locks and was fun to chat with during the cut.
Altogether fantastic experience! -

I have found my new go-to salon. everything about this place is great.
I called to ask about the prices, since the review page says $$$ (pricey). so they told me it ranges from $60-140. i made an appointment for the same day.
I loved the place from the moment I set foot in it. It's a very nice looking place to start with, and they have a lounge outside (where i was told by them i can hang out if i'm in the area). I was greeted by the receptionist and told that my hairstylist would be with me momentarily. (i dont remember my hairstylist's name, and i feel so bad, but i think it was samantha. shes fairly new there.) I was then asked if they could get me a drink: they had champagne, wine, or cappucino.
My stylist came out as soon as i sat down, which was great because i hate waiting. She was nice and knew how to keep a conversation going. I didnt know what hairstyle i wanted, so we went with layers and side bangs. Let me tell you: these are the best layers ive ever had. She did them in some kind of "star" design, where the layers go up and down? i'm a wash and go type of person, so she said these layers would give me volume and movement without doing anything to my hair. and it's true!
All in all, i think this is the best salon I've been to, and thats thanks to yelp and the people that reviewed it. thanks fellow yelpers. this will definitely be my salon from today forward! -

I waited a few weeks to write this review, to let my hair settle, and have time to adjust. Unfortunately, I feel the same way as I did when I initially left the salon. I went to Kasai, after receiving a great referral, and also reading the outstanding reviews on Yelp. I recently moved here from out of town, and this was my first experience at a new salon. I met with the colorist, who was very nice and seemed to understand exactly what I wanted done. I was going in to have my roots highlighted, explained I wanted an "ash blond" color, more of a white blond. Not a honey, or gold. I wanted my roots, the same color as the rest of my highlighted hair, I was very specific with what I wanted. We were on the same page, and I could tell she had good technique, so I was shocked when the towel came off, and my roots appeared orange. I'm still confused about what happened, or how this color came to be on my head. As I was a new client, I would have hoped the same colorist would have been the one to then apply toner, check to make sure the color was right, and see this out until completion, but I was turned over to someone else who applied the toner. I'm not sure if a mistake was made with the toner, or how my roots were suddenly orange. Upon seeing the color was wrong, toner was then reapplied to my hair and washed out, twice after this. The color was still wrong, and the roots of my head were now entirely made a different shade than either a) my highlighted hair, or b) any natural element of my hair.
I had my hair cut by Kasai, and he did a fantastic job, he took time to explain why he was cutting what, and my hair looked fuller and healthier after he was finished. Also, the hair cut has been low maintenance to maintain since then, just blow dry and go.
The receptionist was very understanding about the color, and told me to call back if I wanted to come in and have it redone. I called back a few hours after I left, and told her I was unhappy with the color. She booked an appointment the next day, with someone else. I came back the next day, and another colorist attempted to correct my hair. He was very understanding and patient, and also saw the orange in my hair and thought maybe color had been applied? In rectifying the mistake of the orange, he had to go a little overboard with the blond, but this looked better than the previous. He was able to cover up a good amount of the orange, but it wasn't possible to entirely remove it all, without basically bleaching my head. Because it's so blond now, I know I'll have to get it done sooner than I usually go (because the root contrast is now more intense). The visible orange in my hair, however, has made it hard to part my hair on the side, or wear in certain styles. I've basically been wearing my hair up, until it grows out enough where I can get it redone. -

I been coming to this salon for almost a year now. The location of this salon is right next to the beach. I have pretty difficult hair to cut because its thick, heavy, and with a slight natural curl. My stylist is Keitaro and i'm very satisfied with the cut he gives me each time. The only complaint is that Keitaro only works at this salon on Sunday. The service in this salon is also very good, no attitudes whatsoever. I think i will be staying with this salon for quite a long time because there's no reason for me to go elsewhere.

Kasai is the name of the salon and also the owner. He was highly recommended to me by a co-worker.
I have been absolutely faithful to my hairdresser for the past 9 years (and I hope she doesn't read this!), but wanted to get a Brazillian Blowout, which they don't do at my salon. Kasai was having a deal where the Brazillian Blowout was discounted if you get a haircut with it. Since I was saving some money from this combo deal, I decided to get my haircut by Kasai. You know those situations, when you save money so you decide to spend more? :D.
I go to the beautiful salon in Manhattan beach, and the first thing he asks me is, "You are the one who is also getting a Brazillian Blowout?" I said, "Yes." He said, "You don't need one, and I don't want you to waste your money on it." Fair enough, I have straight hair, but I wanted it straighter. You also must know how that is...
He said, "You just need a good haircut." Some reason when it became reality that I was getting my haircut by someone else other than my usual salon, I got very nervous and panicked. He explained what my haircut would look like and make sure I was comfortable with it. He considered my height and face shape. I thought this was very interesting and actually made me feel at ease.
I got an awesome shampoo then was ready for the cut. He cut while we were both standing up.
I heard this was a technique they do at Fredric Fekkai (where he also worked).
My haircut was exactly how he explained it. Nice cut, easy to maintain and won't need another cut for 3-4 months. Even though it may be a little pricey, it is worth it because the cut is so good, you don't need to come in for a few months (and he even tells you this too).
He is quick and cuts with such precision.
Not really part of the review, but he is also kind of hot. So easy on the eyes while getting your hair cut.
Parking: This is one piece of advice I wish someone told me. I actually do not know Manhattan Beach well enough- and just know about the meter parking and this one little lot. His salon is in this outdoor mall, and I guess they have parking for up to 8 hours and a lot of it.
I would use that lot the next time I go there. I circled around to find a meter, and was worried that I would be done in time before the meter ran out. It all worked out because I didn't have the 2 hour Brazillian Blow out. -

Ask for Brie, she is GREAT!!!
I have been going to Kasai for haircut for a few months. Each time I go there, I asked for Brie. Her attention to details and understanding of hairstyle always have me leaving the salon looking my best.
One of my favorite part of the cut beside the great conversation is the shoulders and neck massage I receive at the end of each cut.
The staff is extremely nice and the salon set up with a great decor.
Looking forward to my next appointment -

I had my Haircut and Brazilian Blowout by Kasai and a Color by Shawana. I had Great experience at this salon. I had a previous Haircut at another salon that had me leaving in tears. I had the worst layers you could imagine and I am super anal about my hair. so I wore it up in a bun for almost 3 months to let them grow out a bit. I did my research and came across Kasia Salon which thanks to you yelpers I decided to give them a try and I am so glad I did.
I dont know how he did it but he manage to blend in my once ulgy mullet layers into beautiful flowing layers. This is my new go to salon. He also is a Master Stylist at my still favorite salon Kim Vo at the Montage Hotel. So I can go see him at his Personally Owned salon and not have to wipe out my bank account to get a great haircut. Shawana was by far the nicest hair stylist I have meet in a long time and my color came out beautiful. Kasia assistants were so sweet as well. I will definitely keep coming back to this salon.
Also as a side note they are having an amazing Brazilian Blowout special that can't be beat anywhere else. -

FIVE STARS FOR CORRINE AND SONO
THREE STARS FOR STYLISTS (not worth the money)
this FIVE-STAR review is ONLY for the receptionists. CORRINE IS AMAZING! She has a very geniune smile and desire to help you as much as possible and she tells you how it is when she sees your new hair. I am greatly impressed with the customer service of the receptionists.
CORRINE IS THE BEST RECEPTIONIST EVER!
Sono is nice too and very enthusiastic.
As far as the stylists, I would suggest knowing EXACTLY what you want when you go in, because any hesitation will surely result in their artistic freedom and in my case a 6:30pm to 11:00pm re-do of the gray-green hair I had been given a week before, when all I wanted was a few highlights.
Tiffany was my first stylist and after asking for my natural ashy blonde back, she dyed it dark dark brunette. I felt a little abandoned as well when she deserted me with dye dripping down my ears for one of her regulars who wanted a cut and blow dry.
Christine is an assistant and she is great, very gentle and sweet.
Jennifer was my second stylist (one week after my hair turning from deep deep brunette to gray and green). She was nice, but she was very sloppy and worked so speedily that I felt like I was a nusance to the salon. Corrine and I explained that because I was dissatisfied with my hair, I would only be paying the difference between a color and highlights (quoted $15.00). However, she made me pay the full $120 plus tip for her services.
I don't think I will ever go back to this salon and pay for services. It is very frustrating. They need to communicate better to clients about what hair does and the expectations. -

This salon is wonderful! My hair was washed and cut by Janelle. She was spectacular. I have long and thick hair that is difficult to cut. She talked me through the whole process, and cut my hair so beautifully and quickly! My hair felt so light, and the body she created was just breathtaking. My last stylist gave me bangs, and Janelle cut it in a way that allows it smooth into my hair while I let it grow out. She let me know that at anytime I need to trim my bangs it will be free I would just need to schedule an appointment. She is a wonderful, wonderful hair stylist. I can't emphasize that enough. I got my hair blown out by an assistant, Juliet. She was also spectacular. Throughout the whole time, she talked to me about styling and things that I wanted to know about hair stuff. I love it here. Will definitely come back. The staff was very nice and friendly and can't wait to come back
Oh, and my bf had an appointment at the same time with Bruce. He was really nice and informative (which my bf appreciated). He cut my bf's hair (which is super thick and curly) in a way that's easy to style while still looking good. He also fixed his beard at no extra charge. Bruce is great! -

I absolutely love coming to Kasai's hair salon for a few reasons:
1) The staff is fantastic. They are very welcoming, friendly and attentive. They make sure that their clients are comfortable by asking if we want anything to drink, which is complementary (wine, tea and water), or if we need a magazine to look at.
2) The ambience and location of the salon is key. It makes your hair experience much more relaxing to know that it is right near the beach and that the salon gets a lot of natural light, which I love. Music selection is great, which is a mix of groovy, mellow r&b sounds to island reggae rhythms to jazzy hip hop. There is a really great vibe to the salon and lay-out of the salon is clean and open. The decor has a beachy, yet modern and comtemporary feel.
Saving the best for last...
3) My stylist Tiffany!! She has a positive attitude and is honest about what she thinks will look great on you. I have come to her with ideas of how I would want my hair to look like and she tailors it to suit you. Not every hairstyle is meant for everyone. I also have come to her not knowing how I want my hair done and she comes up with great ideas for me and I am always satisified. Besides cut and color, I have also gotten updo's done by her for weddings and it comes out so original and soft looking. In addition to her great sense of style, she is nice, very down to earth and easy to talk too.
If you are looking for a hair salon or a new stylist, you need to check out Kasai Hair and ask for Tiffany! -

I have been coming to Kasai for about 2 years. I WILL NOT go anywhere else. The way he cuts my hair is AMAZING!!! I've never in all my life found someone who could cut my hair in such a way that I don't even have to fix it.....and it's already instantly styled everyday.
For being a pretty busy person with long hair that's hard to maintain, this makes me feel great.
It's a very nice, high-end facility with affordable prices, beautiful decor, and a perfect location.
Kasai is the stylist to many Hollywood Celebrities, but let me tell you....if I didn't like the way anyone there did my hair, I wouldn't go there. I go there because I truly love the way he cuts. Also when it comes to styling, I will get my hair styled by ANY member of his staff because they are all great as well. Check them out! -

Kasai Hair is Amazing!! I had been referred to the salon by a friend and didn't expect much at all. I was inpressed by the salons vibe, look, quality and staff. I was so happy with how I looked when I left the salon! I felt like a million buckes! Justin is who did my hair. I was pleased & he has that soutehrn charm that makes you want to keep coming back. The environment & having champagne while getting my hair done was really a treat and enhanced my experience & really added to my event that I had that evening.
I highly reccommend Kasai Hair & I will for sure be going back for more! -

I LOVE KASAI! I don't know if I have been this happy with any haircut since I went to Vidal Sassoon's in the 80's. Jenn is wonderful, fun, and creative, and Shawna is a complete color genius. I had despaired of finding anywhere in the South Bay where I could get a consistent cut and good color, but I feel very confident and happy with Kasai. Thank you!

So happy I found this hair salon! I previously went to one of the highest rated hair salons in South Bay, but I decided to try something else after the last time I went there and my hairdresser decided to add treatments to my hair that I didn't ask for. Anyways, I decided to go to Kasai because of the great reviews and the fact that they had a great student discount. My hairdresser was Jennifer, and she was awesome. When I came in to the salon I knew I wanted a drastic change, and I went from a blond to a red hair. Jennifer took her time and she was very understanding that I was on a budget. Great experience, will definitely go there again.

Monica at Kasai is absolutely amazing!! I went to her because I saw three people with adorable cuts and perfect color, who all said they went to her. They all had dark hair, but she did my blonde hair highlights perfectly. I had SO many people tell me I looked pretty the next day.. a sign of a great hair artist!
Also, my husband dropped by to get a trim when I was doing mine. She effortlessly squeezed him and did an awesome job. I think he's handsome, but she made him look even more handsom(er) (which I didnt think was possible.) ;)
Some people are born to do what they do. I'm so glad Monica was given the gift of creative hair mastery... and that I found her!
