Karlson/Gray Gallery
1 review for Karlson/Gray Gallery
My son and I stood outside of the Karlson Gray Gallery completely in awe of a gigantic bronze Rabbit sculpture in their window. The storefront had the appearance of "Look, but don't touch", and I being conscious of that..made no attempt to enter with my 3 year old.
Appearances can be deceiving. The curator at this gallery was amazing. Incredibly personable, friendly, charming...he welcomed/ urged us in with the greatest smile and encouragement. And it was here that I fell in love...the heart can not lie when it has fallen hard....
Art is subjective..what is beauty to one can be dismal to others...what I saw..what I wanted..what was not within my reach was a bronze sculpture of 3 rabbits dancing with their hands joined...it spoke of such true happiness and joy to me that my heart was bursting..I wanted that sculpture like no tomorrow. I am hoping that my husband will read this review and perhaps find a way to purchase it for me someday for my secret garden.
The bonus of our visit..meeting the sculptor herself, Georgia Gerber who is somewhat of a local celebrity. I've met many famous people in my life, but I have no idea why this one made me feel so giddy.
