6 reviews for Kamaole I Park
Gorgeous sand, mountain and distant island views, lifeguards watching over you, good close-in snorkeling, lapping Pacific waves (sometimes crashing), grassy picnic areas above the dunes, decently maintained public showers and restrooms, and it's not at all crowded by most standards. Early in the morning it's like a dream -- almost deserted in the flickering shadows of the trees nearby.
I saw a snowflake eel under a rock in waist-deep water.
Out of all the beaches my family went to on the west side of Maui the Kamaole Park Beaches were by far our all around favorite. Most of the rocks were in plain sight and the undertow was not bad. The sand was nice and the shoreline is flat. There are nice spots for supervised toddlers to play and one can enjoy some challenging body surfing. If you're not up for the drive to some of the more picturesque or sought after beaches don't worry because these South Kihea beaches are great!

The Kamaole Beach Park is a series of three beaches which extend along the main area of South Kihea, and are within walking distance of nearly all the South Kihea condos.
All three beaches have fine white sand, and offer easy swimming and boogie boarding for kids. They can get a little crowded, but people here are pretty low-key. Lifeguards are on duty.
There are parking lots as well as ample street parking. The parks include grassy areas with picnic benches and BBQ pits, restrooms, and showers. There are numerous businesses across the street where food, snacks, and sundries are conveniently available.
These beaches offer great views of Kahoolawe, Molokini, and West Maui. Bring a pair of binoculars in the winter, and you can see humpback whales right from your beach chair or blanket.

There are a few Kamaole beaches down Kihei Rd.
We happened to be staying across the street from Kamaole 2.
It was cloudy the day we were there, (and there was the orange flag warning) but we could still see this was a great beach.
I would definitely come back :)
Great location and good baby waves for boogey board and snorkel beginners and kids. There are rocks on each side of the beach and plenty of fishes in there. There are plenty of restaurants and businesses across the street. The sand is clean and warm. It can get crowded since its in "downtown" kihei, but otherwise its an awesome beach.

On a calm day this beach offers clear water, beautiful views of Kahoolawe and Molokini, and delightfully soft sand. Gentle undulating waves provide great swimming.
This beach is also great for people watching and just relaxing. There's an ABC store right across the street in case you need supplies to spend the day at the beach.
