These guys are a total class act - I highly recommend Kamand Locksmith!
Long story short, after having a HORRIBLE experience with AvantGuard Locksmith (seriously...avoid AvantGuard at all costs,) I was fortunate enough to find Kamand Locksmith on Yelp. (Thank you Yelpers!) I needed to have four locks on my apartment changed and called Kamand at 1pm on a Saturday. The phone was answered by Eddie who told me that he would be happy to come out and help me right away and that he would personally handle the call, planning to arrive between 2 and 3. (One hour service on a weekend? Amazing!)
Eddie came out and honestly it was such a relief to deal with someone so professional! He changed all four of the locks in record time, honored the exact quote he gave me over the phone and was even nice to my cat. His attitude and demeanor were super-pleasant and he truly behaved as though changing my locks on a Saturday afternoon was a great way to spend his weekend day. (Let's be honest - we all know he had better things to be doing on a Saturday so I appreciate how cheerful he was about having to work. That's awesome customer service right there.)
Geat service, very fair prices and SUPER nice people - they truly deserve all the five star reviews! -

Today, I decided to start the year off right by leaving my keys on their hook and locking myself out of my apartment at 10am.
As luck would have it, anyone who had the two spare keys to the place were either out of the state or country, not to mention, the apartment management office is closed for the holiday. This is the first time I've had no bailout options, and of course, resorted to Yelp for a bit of help.
Alex, who came out to help me, was so friendly and quick! I was originally quoted $110-$125 because there was not one, but two doors to gets through... but if you need to get in, well, you need to get in. After a discount for finding them on Yelp, and another $15 discount for paying with cash, it only came out to $75!
Thank you for making this such a pleasant experience, despite the circumstances!

I called this company one week ago and have yet to receive a call back. Not that I need their services now (clearly had to find another company), but I couldn't believe that a company so highly rated on yelp would just not return the call of a customer in need.
Once/if one is able to get a hold of the company they might be great. All I know is, if you are in a bind and need a locksmith quickly - don't hold your breath for this company to call you back. -

I called Kamand and left a message. My call was returned in an hour and Alex was able to come over within 40min. I'm not sure if it is always like but it was awesome.
Alex replaced the 2 locks on my front doors in about 15 minutes. It was great to not have to devote part of my day to waiting around and I thought the price was very reasonable. -

Alex is friendly, helpful, and quick!
One of my locks had worn out and stopped working, so I called Kamand Locksmith services around 9 am. I received a call back by noon (and Alex apologized for the delay, since he'd been out at a job), an estimate for the job, and an appointment for later that evening.
He took one look at the lock, figured out what was wrong, and told me that he had to replace the cylinder. He took it to his car and came back within minutes to install the lock. Got a discount for mentioning Yelp, too! He discovered then that his phone screen was cracked, but he was professional and even cheery despite that. -

I had a great experience with Kamand Locksmith Services. Eddie's estimate came in lower than the other 2 places I called so I went ahead and made an appointment. Eddie came out earlier than scheduled and fixed the lock on the door (I thought it was busted and needed to be replaced which would've been the more expensive option). I asked him if he could look at the front and back door to my place and advise how to make them more secure and he happily obliged. He took the time to answer all my questions and is really friendly and responsive. I highly recommend him.

Today I found myself in an unnerving situation and had to have my apartment lock changed. I called Kamand and they were there within 20 minutes, after estimating "within 2 hours".
The service was fast, and the locksmith was extremely empathic and informative. He gave me some great tools for keeping my apartment secure and myself safe.
I'd recommend him to anyone in a pinch, or with a larger more complicated job! -

Today was the second time I've used Kamand for a key/lock need. A file cabinet I'd had for 4 years and had lost the key for needed opening. Eddie could not have been nicer on the phone and in very short order they were able to come over and in seconds unlock the cabinet. On a previous occasion they were able to get me into my house when I was locked out and fixed a janky lock while they were at it. I really like their service, attitude and efficiency. My only comment would be the price of the job should be commensurate with the time it takes, my file cabinet cost me $85 to open, ouch!

Alex came by and saved my day. He changed the keys to my condo and swapped out my mail key in just 20 minutes. He was professional and extremely nice and I wouldn't go anywhere else for any future key/lock issues.

By far, the most convenient locksmith service I have ever encountered! Appointment scheduling was easy, he was at my place early (and I was running late, but he waited up for me), made a quick and accurate assessment of the broken garage door lock, fixed in less than 30 min!

So, I'm not having a locksmith emergency, but I did have a situation where the keyhole actually popped entirely out of my door. Lucky for me, we have just been using the second deadbolt in the interim. However, today I finally decided to call around to get this thing taken care of. I spoke to Eddie who gave me a reasonable quote. I had called three other places prior to Kamand, and they were all just slightly higher than Kamand was. Seeing as this wasn't an emergency for me, I decided to go with the cheapest price and a good reputation (thanks yelpers).
Eddie came out in less than an hour, and was able to fix the lock in less than 30 minutes. He was really friendly, explained what had probably happened to our lock, and guaranteed his work for 90 days (with mention that it should last much longer than that, of course). Today was a good day for me to get that old lock fixed. -

I called the day before to setup an appointment to get new locks on my mailbox and front door. He gave us a 1-2 hour window, but never showed up. I called him back and he said his brother is on his way and will arrive soon. I waited another hour and still no one showed up and no one called. What a waste of time. Staying in a vacant house for 2-3 hours for nothing is really irritating.

This review is long overdue - we moved into our place at the beginning of 2011 and for security reasons wanted the locks re-keyed. Found Kamand on yelp, made an appointment with them for the next day and they showed up cheerfully on time.
Both Alex and Eddie came out and they were done in a jiffy. They even got the locking file cabinet open (the one that we *told* the movers not to push in that button as we didn't have the key, hmmm, guess what happened anyway). -

This guy was kind (locks needed changing due to a sensitive security situation) and prompt (he was there within an hour) and he worked quickly. I was thoroughly satisfied with his service and pricing. I also appreciated that he made recommendations for a more secure lock in the future and said he would install it and give me a discount, when I was ready to upgrade. I recommend him without reservation and with enthusiasm. We don't often need a locksmith's services, but when we do, I will always go with him.

I would give them 10 stars if I were able.
Recently someone attempted to steal my bike out of our garage. They failed, thankfully, but the U-Lock was bent to hell and I couldn't get it off.
I called Kamand, and within a day, Eddy was at my house.
Look, no one likes to deal with an event that costs you money you weren't expecting to have to spend, but somehow, when this was all done and over with, I felt really good.
Part of that may have to do with Eddy being one of the most genuinely awesome people I've ever talked to. 20 minutes later when the project was finished, I was half convinced to give the guy an invitation to my wedding. He's just a super cool dude. No fakes.
The other part is that he did the job effectively, quickly, and professionally. A locksmith service call is always more expensive than you want it to be, but in the end, he was the best price of anyone I called, and like I said, by the time we shook hands and he left, I had no reservations about the transaction we'd done.
Give them a call. I asked for his business card, because if I ever need Locksmith service again, he's the first person I am going to think of. -

Eddy rocks! He saved my day. I moved into my new studio yesterday and guess what? I locked myself out. Called Kamand Locksmith and he was here in less than 30 minutes and boom! my door was open and stress level went to ZERO!

I live in SOMA. Kamand arrived in less than 15 minutes, and got the apartment door open in about 30 seconds. He was extremely friendly and professional. I was happy to pay his fee.

Wow. White Van pulls only after a couple of rounds of "Angry Birds". Two gentleman hop out and greet me with a smile and comforting confidence. Eddie opened my front door lock with a swift rattle, wiggle, OPEN. Professional! Good job guys.

If you need your locks changed, chances are you have a pressing need. One you'd rather not wait to rectify. I found myself in such a situation yesterday and found Kamand on google.
never having needed a locksmith before I expected it to A: cost a fortune and B: take forever.
neither of which were true! I was quoted $75 bucks plus the cost of keys and was give an arrival time not to surpass 90 min.
SOLD! The staff was friendly, professional, and on time!
in the end i was made 6 keys on the house, my locks were fixed 90 min from the time i made the call, and i was squeezed in between two other jobs.
I really appreciate how easy this company made my situation -

Eddy came out last night and saved our lives. We were catsitting for a friend and locked ourselves out, how embarrassing is that?
Anyway, Eddy came when he said he would, thanked us for waiting for him, and got the door open in less than a minute. Even gave us $5 off for mentioning yelp.
Good guy, very friendly, smells nice. Call him when you are wallowing in shame. -

If smelling salts were available to me I would be inhaling them deeply to recover from the shocking experience I had today with Eddie, the Kamand Locksmith.
I made an appointment with him because a friend told me my front door was not shutting and opening correctly and the locks needed to be replaced.
Eddie arrived at the appointed hour, checked out the door and stated, "These locks will last as long as the house does." He recommended having a handyman shave down the edge of the door to improve its function Eddie then did some adjustment, tightening parts and sprayed it all over with WD40. He told me if I needed anymore repair to call him, but didn't expect to hear from me again.
I thanked him and asked how much I owed him. He said a service call is $55 but he was not charging me anything. WHAT! He spent about 20 minutes here and did a good bit of adjusting. I can't remember ever getting a service call and a little labor for nothing.
I thanked Eddie profusely and told him I would praise him to the skies on Yelp. Eddie said, "Mention my name, it's Eddie." I told Eddie that I certainly would do that.
I really appreciate what Eddie did for me today. -

If there were more stars I'd give Eddy and Kamand Locksmith more stars. Fortunately my situation was not an emergency, but I was still delighted when I got an appointment for the day after I called.
Replaced my front door deadbolt, changed the lock and even gave me five extra keys at no charge! I hope I never need emergency lock service, but if I do, I know just who to call. -

I talked to Eddie on Wednesday and made an appointment with him to install a deadbolt on my front door. He quoted me a reasonable price and and said that he would be there from 2pm - 3pm the next day. He showed up in front of my house at 2pm ON THE DOT ready to go! I asked him if it was OK if I could watch him do it, and he was more than gracious. Most of the time I will do the job myself, but being that this was a solid core door that was probably about 100 years old, I wanted the job to be done by a Pro who would do the job with the precision that I probably couldn't have been able to do. Watchin' this guy work - this guy is a pro. It doesn't get any better than this. He did a fantastic and precise job in about 30 minutes flat. You might call around and get like a $10-$20 difference in the price but do yourself a favor, just call these guys. You will NOT be disappointed!

I'm sorry that I didn't get the name of the locksmith who saved me, but this service is awesome! I locked myself out on my way to meet a friend for dinner. I called one other place first and they said it would be an hour and a half. Then, I called Kamand and the guy who answered the phone said he could be here in half an hour. He was actually here in about 25 minutes, apologizing for making me wait. I was just happy he could come out at all on a Saturday evening. He got me back in my apartment in a matter of minutes and was very professional and charming. I made it to dinner and the movie on time. Thank you, Kamand!

This guy saved my a%^! Seriously. My car was locked in my garage. OK, new garage. And the garage landlord had no idea what the code was to get in. Really?
And on top of it all, my head was up my "you know where".

Eddie is a genius with locks! He came over pretty quick too. Call me a bonehead but I couldn't get our back gate to open. After sawing off a little from the door jam, it worked. He even threw in a free set of keys that were made much better than the copies we had done at Home Depot. I would image that any other locksmith out try to get us to replace the entire lock - I like how he efficiently troubleshooted the problem! Eddie is now in my address book and not many people are!

I needed my locks rekeyed and an ornery deadbolt looked at. Alex showed up and took care of things. He was very efficient and extremely friendly.
He was late, stuck on an earlier job, but he called to reschedule and was very courteous.
He looked at the deadbolt and did what he could (for free) but told me it was old and pretty much a lost cause. He gave me some options for working around it, which probably means a new additional deadbolt. He told me to call him back if I want it done but there was no hard sell, which I appreciated.
Would definitely call them again (and probably will soon). -

I met Alex and his son between Xmas & NYE when I called him out to come and change the locks on our new place. Alex arrived promptly at the time given, was extremely professional, offered awesome advice and got the job done in no time flat.
I think I owe him an extra thank you as he was half way through changing the locks on our outside gate when I remembered this couldn't be done because we have renters that would be locked out. He quickly reset the locks without hassle, charge or even a whimper.

We recently moved to a new apartment and knew we needed to have the locks changed. Kamand Locksmith to the rescue! I called them on a Monday and they said they could come out the very next day!
I can't say enough things about Kamand Locksmith. It was so easy working with them. All of my questions were answered and Eddie was so helpful. When it came time to come out to our place to change the locks they were fast and very professional. (They also honored the 10% Yelp discount and had reasonable rates!)
I highly recommend this locksmith. The next time we need locksmith services, it will be an easy choice on who to go to - Kamand! -

So I needed my locks re-keyed for security reasons, and the estimate given over the phone was surprisingly fair and reasonable. I live at the top of twin peaks, which was no problem for them to get to (without an extra service charge). We scheduled a time that worked and when he showed up he went straight to work. It took about 15min and the job was done. Super friendly service + excellent work = Kamand Locksmith!

Who knew locksmiths could be so different from one another? If you didn't know---as I didn't til Kamand Locksmith Services---let me tell you: there are BIG differences. I've lived in SF for 14months. Needed a locksmith 3x. I have never needed a locksmith anywhere else. Who knows what's going on here.
But, to the point, the first 2 services were shifty, shady, expensive, and the locksmiths seemed like they'd graduated from pickpocket school, or learned lockpicki---I mean locksmithing---from juvey hall.
Kamand is totally different. The estimate was actually accurate -- both other times (2 dif companies) there's some sort of scam where they will give you an estimate and then when they get to your place go "Ohhhhh you have THOSE kind of locks---wow, that's a whole nother story---and jack the price way up, and if you send them away they charge you just for having shown up and telling you they're going to gouge you.
Kamand is pleasant, honest, realistic in estimates, and human---just the kind of company you want to root for---that they do really really well.

I manage an apartment building in the Mission and had need of quite a bit of work. Re-keying a front gate, a garbage doorway, and re-keying and updating locks and deadbolts on two apartments front and back to simplify keying for our building.
I called Kamand in the morning, they called me back a little later and we set up a meeting for later that day. They arrived when they said they would and jumped right in. Less than two hours later and they had everything done. Plus a ridiculous number of keys cut.
Eddie and Alex both were great, have a goof sense of humor and know what they are doing.
Thanks guys! I will definitely be having you back when we need more stuff done. -

Returned late from an evening out to discover I had locked myself out. It was 11:45pm and began to contact various locksmiths. Kamand was the third I found.
He apologized that it was going to take him an hour to get there, so he provided a competitors phone number that might be quicker. The competitor however tried to take advantage of the late hour and gouge me. So I called Kamand and said I would wait. He arrived as agreed and was professional and friendly.
I cannot give a higher recommendation - honest and delivers as agreed.
