The rosemary sauce that comes with the steak is spectacular.  Try the bread salad...you won't be disappointed!

Decor is perfect...can't wait for the other side to open!!!

Staff is friendly and your water glass never goes empty!  I love that!

We have been here a couple of time. Nice steaks-char broiled. Great mushrooms, nice salads. Service can sometimes be slow but it is Island Time!
If you are tired of seafood and want meat, this is the place to go.

That's 3+ stars.  This place used to be owned by the same folks who owned the Makawao Steak House on Maui.  In September or so they sold the restaurant to the people running the Kalaheo Inn to which the steak house is attached.  We got the impression the same folks are cooking as were cooking before.  They are w/o a liquor license for reasons that are not entirely clear to either of us, despite our waitress' attempt to explain.  Suffice it to say the hope is that they will have it by the end of April and in the meantime people are welcome to bring their own.  We had dinner here tonight when we were unable to find parking at Brick Oven Pizza.  We had their sauteed mushroom appetizer which was as good as it ever was, which is to say, yummy.  Salads were OK--they came w/ a sweetish, orange colored dressing that reminded us of Catalina French, but on the plus side there were a chunk of avocado, tomatoes, cucumbers, croutons and slices of onion that were a little too sharp for me.  I had the rib eye steak and Alan had the teriyaki sirloin.  Both came rare, although he ordered his medium rare.  He said it was still good.  We shared a baked potato which came w/ butter, sour cream, real bacon bits and, best of all, real chives.  He was smart and requested them on the side.  The steaks came w/ baked beans, and they were good, although we would have liked more vegetables.  We both ordered ice tea and it tasted as if it had been sitting for a few days.  I asked for some hot tea and some ice and made my own, which was good.  Alan had water.  Service was earnest and accommodating.  The place was surprisingly empty when we arrived but many tables were filled by the time we left.  I like this place and want them to succeed.
