Kebab Way is consistently delicious. They do fast-food style meat on a stick and they do it well. I almost always order the Beef Shish with Hummus (and a side of cucumber & yogurt!) and it has never let me down. The meat is so tender and juicy, the pita is served piping hot, the hummus is the perfect compliment and the yogurt is so refreshing!

I have had combos with salad and rice before, too, ad i agree, the salad is small, but you can always ask for double salad! I prefer cutting my pita in half and stuffing it full of everything on the plate. Makes for a handy sandwich of yum.

The counter help is always nice, the people who bring the food to my table almost always greet me when doing so with a , "hello, how are you today?" ... and it's not like i come here often enough for them to recognize me, so you know they are just nice people all the time.

Also, Yelp has the hours posted wrong, here. they are open until 10PM Mon-Sat, not 9.

Behind Zankou, the place has the best garlic paste.  Actually, Kabab Way's paste has green basil in it, which makes it so delicious.  I always save the extra paste to cook vegetables with the next day.

I was looking for a falafels here, but you will not find any.  If you want a vegetarian option, there's the dolma (grape leaves plate).  The dolma is a bit tangy if you're into that.  The lentil soup is de-lish-cious and so is the hummus.   Hubby got the combo plate and says that it was very good, but he thought that the chicken was more flavorful than the beef.

I think we've found our new go to when we're craving Mediterranean food.

I don't go for the ambiance, but the prices make up for that.

I was surprised that the beef shish was moist and tender! (sadly i'd gotten used to getting dry shish kabobs) The chicken lula and the beef lula are pretty good as well. The little salad that comes with most dishes is fresh but it is little. The ranch dressing here is pretty good too. The hummus is okay. I didn't think it was anything amazing. However the small hummus comes with a really good amount of hummus for a small, which is always a plus for a fatty like me.
What I most love about this place is their rice. It's slightly salty, very moist but not sticky, and it's just absolutely yummm! Oh, and they give you a pretty large portion of it too! Definitely recommend this place:)

Well kabob way has been here for a while and as good as the the person who kept telling me to go  said it was--my son-- it was awesome! They put something in the garlic sauce which made it more complex and the chicken lula was great!! Friendly service, fast, easy parking, clean, and really good.

I've worked in Glendale for about 3 and a half years now and just barely discovered this place?!?! Thanks to my avid foodie friend who dragged me out here, I'm now in love with Kabob Way. I can't go back to Zankou although its a bit different but the Chicken here is so juicy and the beef cooked to perfection. I'm drooling just writing this review. If you like good prices and great food I recommend Kabob Way for your tingling taste buds. :) Satisfaction Guaranteed! :D

I like this place. It is sort of a fast food joint ...except everything they serve is freshly cooked. We ordered their combination plate of Beef Kabob and chicken kabob, then a plate of beef Lula with the Hummus.

All the meat was tender and juicy and really flavorful.Serving portion was good and it is priced really well.

We have been to many Mediterranean / Armenian BBQ place and this has to be one of the best in its category. Their counter service people where nice too.

As I was searching on yelp for hot lunch spots in Glendale, I came across Kabab Way. I decided to check it out with the bf and I'm so glad I did! When you walk in, you immediately see the entire menu on the wall. Everything is reasonably priced. You order at the counter, get your number, and seat at a table.

I opted for the Beef Lula and hummus plate for $5.75. Great deal! The beef lula tasted almost identical to the beef lula (koobideh) at Raffi's. For almost half the price, I think I'll be coming to Kabab Way alot more for lunch. The hummus was so DELICIOUS! it tasted so much better than Raffi's hummus - smoky & creamy. The pita bread was okay, the ridges were pretty tough to chew. My bf opted for the Beef saltani which consisted of the chicken lula and shish kabob for $12.50. His order came with plain rice and salad with house dressing. The chicken lula was also very good and tender with alot of juicyness flavor. My bf LOVEDDD the shish kabob. The rice was very meh.. nothing special.

Honestly, I wasn't completely full after lunch.. which led me to stuff myself with more pita bread. I'll probably try their sandwiches or order a 2 meat variety combo next time. Overall, it was a good experience- it's super fast. If you work in the area, and only have a 1 hour break or less, this is the place to go.

Kabab Way is a kind of tweener restaurant... its more than a fast food joint but not quite a sit down restaurant and I think that hurts it a little bit.  The service takes quite a while... I was in there and it was pretty empty but still took 10-15 mins for the food to get out.  It's presentation is very fast food like... the food is on a styrofoam plate and you eat with plastic utensils but the food is priced the same as a lot of the sit down places I like to go to (Like Skaf's and Mini Kabob).

    FOOD

I ordered the Beef and Chicken Lulu Combination Plate.  The plate comes with 2 chicken and 2 beef lulus over a bed of rice.  There is a side salad with a choice of ranch or balsamic, a roasted tomato and a piece of pita bread.  Both Lulu's were very well prepared.  They were juicy and pretty flavorful... very good, but not quite great.  I ordered a side of garlic sauce for the chicken which ratcheted that up to 11 pretty quick.... but on the downside it made the beef lulu very bland by comparison.  I tried the garlic sauce with the beef but it didn't make as much of an impact.  The roasted tomato was nice but the salad was very blah... it was very lunch special like.

    Beef Lulu - 3 out of 5
Chicken Lulu (with sauce) - 4 out of 5

    OVERALL

I'm kind of on the fence about the restaurant.  Glendale is blessed with lots of amazing Mediterranean restaurants so that complicates things.  The very positive reviews made me want to like it but ultimately it was just an ok experience.  If I think really hard and wanted some Mediterranean fast food I'd be more inclined to go to Zankou Chicken while if I wanted a better sit down experience I'd go to Skaf's or Mini Kabob.  I may just have to give it a try again...

Cheap good Mediterranean / Armenian food! My girlfriend and I were about to go to the place across the street when we realized we could save on tip by going to a more "fast food" style joint and do without the waiter service. Perfect decision as it saved me a few bucks :-D

It's crazy how that I was never a fan of Mediterranean food... And now, I actually crave it and actively seek out for various Mediterranean places to compare each other with.  This is how I came across Kabob Way in Glendale after searching on yelp under the highest rated option in Glendale.  I figure that if I wanted the best, I really should hit the area where lots of Mediterranean restaurants exists.  (sorta like Monterey Park, Little Tokyo, Westminster, etc.). So once I've locked onto my target, I was determined to give it a shot.  So wanna know what I think?  I bet you do! (I hope!)

Upon reaching my destination, I was pleasantly surprised about the location because it's much bigger and cleaner than I have expected.  On pictures looked more ran down than it is so it was a good sign when we walked in.

Menu board made it easy to decide exactly what you want by simply telling them either the name or the number of the entree of choice.  Simple and painless!

Ordered 2 entrees with a side of yogurt!  (can't have kabob meats without yogurt now people!  You're gonna thank me later!)
The 2 entrees were the chicken kabob plate and the chicken & beef lula plate.

Let me tell you about the thoughts on their food...

Rice was delicious!  Very fluffy jasmine rice which complimented perfectly with all the components of the plate.. But there is a downside to this.... They don't come with any complimentary hummus so you just have to order yogurt to keep your rice nicely moist and flavorful.

The plates comes with a side of salad with decent house balsamic vinegar dressing.  Refreshing just like most of the Mediterranean meals.

The meats were good but wasn't outstanding.  I gotta give it up to their portion for my lula plate but the chicken kabob plate was a bit lame because it literally came with 4 pcs of dark chicken meat.  Granted it's about $6.50 w/tax so it fit the price that they have posted, but still, in my opinion there wasn't enough meat there.  The lula combination plate had 4 pcs of meats for about $11 or so w/ tax so this was actually well worth it.  The chicken kabob was pretty salty in our opinion but the lulls were great.  Again, the portion and the taste of lula really made me happy!

I did ask for the infamous garlic sauce!  For those of you who are into Mediterranean food you know if you ordered chicken you should definitely get some garlic sauce as the flavor enhancer!  Man... Their sauce was garlicky which is cool, but way too salty!  We couldn't even finish 2 little sauces!  Pretty disappointing compared to Aristo's velvety garlic sauce.

I do like the fact it's made as a fast casual restaurant so the drinks is all free refills by yourself.  Easy and convenient!

Final parting thoughts, granted it's not Aristo's but the value is definitely worth it.  (wish they can add a extra chicken kabob on their plate and up the price slightly which would be totally cool)

If I'm in Glendale, I would totally visit them again and their fairly delicious yet inexpensive plates!  Well worth friends!

Instead of going to the Glendale Galleria food court and waiting in line for the Mediterranean Grill and paying $15 dollars for a combination plate, you can come to Kabob Way to get a better deal for HALF the price, this place is great. The staff there is really friendly and if you eat there they take your meal to the table. It is sort of a "fast food" restaurant but everything is made fresh.

I usually get the Beef Lula Kabob combination, it's $6.50 a plate with 2 long strips of beef, rice, salad, grilled tomatoes and onions.  There's a lot of different combinations, sides, etc. to choose from, so your options are endless. The amount of food they give full-filling and doesn't leave you insatisfied.  I will definitely always come here, especially if I'm craving middle eastern food.

The ground beef kabobs were juicy and flavorful, and the spinach yogurt dip was so creamy and delicious!!!  The hummus tasted smoky and I thought there was a hint of soy sauce or seasoning salt.

Outstanding Lula.  Both the beef and the chicken are extremely juicy.  They have surprisingly wonderful rice, just the white Basmati sort, but steamed perfectly and unctuous, oily--
rice like momma makes.  A bomb pairing with the lula.
Armenian "ranch" is outstanding, mayonnaisey and garlicky and oh-so free-of-charge.
Vegetarian sandwich is a home run too--Dolmathes mooshed into the toasted bread and served with house vinaigrette and tomatoes.
The food is always consistent, prepared freshly, a totally dependable (and always highly anticipated) mainstay in my Glendale culinary repertoire.

The food here is EXCELLENT! Everything iv had here is great.  The chicken lula is the best one iv had so far compared to most of the kabob places iv tried.  If I'm really hungry I go for the chicken soltani,  the chicken is always juicy.  The beef lula is really good too.  If I want something on the lighter side I'll go for the chicken or beef lula hummus plate or sandwich.
The people are always very nice and are accommodating to substitutions.

The pricing makes it even more worth it, best prices if came across in the 12335 kabob places in the Glendale area.

I also love that they give u a warm piece of pita and not dry lavash, a huge plus in my book.

I wish I could do half stars or I'd give this place 4 and a half stars, because I think they could use a little sprucing in the dining area,  one review compared the ambiance to a carls jr, which is pretty accurate, but if you order for take out, then this will not be an issue.  Also wished they had delivery *sigh*

The fast food of kabob joints.

Variety's set on four food items with different add ons:  rice, lula, hummus, rice, or salad.

Not huge on variety and the prices seem a little steep  based on the quantity you receive, but all in all still tasty.

Good portion of hummus n flat bread.  Lots of rice and salad.  I had the beef kabob, which was tender n tasty.  The ground chicken item was very flavorful as well and came w/an addictive yogurt/spinach dip great to use w/the bread after your meal.

Good prices, good selection. I'm not too sure why people are ragging on the "fast-food" atmosphere. Give them a break, they have a piano and a flat-screen, with a subwoofer in the wall (!!) for crying out loud. It's a good spot to chill, I actually just came from there to watch the Heat/Celtics game today. There's also a series of tables set up outside in the shade.

The food wasn't overdone, with "just-right" servings. It may be pricey to some, sure, but I'd rather pay a couple bucks more for more quality cuts of chicken and beef kebab.

I wouldn't rank them higher than Zankou at this point in their development (for overall presentation, consistency and replay value), but Glendale, we DO have a contendah.

This is a great "fast food" type kebab place. The chicken Lula salad is great. Their house dressing is amazing, chicken moist and flavorful, and for the price, you cant go wrong. I would suggest ordering takeout because sometimes it gets busy and takes a while. Hummus has a smoky taste to it, and is pretty awesome. Pita bread is always soft and delicious as well. Daily specials are under 7 bucks and very filling.

So my first time to a all-plate no-wraps place.  I asked a lot "if" questions but they weren't too flexible.  I ordered a chicken sultani and beef sultani for me and my husband.  Price was not so good when it comes to sultani but if normal plates they were more or less the same as Elena.

Taste was pretty good.  The meat was fresh and well-seasoned.  One thing I don't like is that most of their combos don't have hummus (and I love hummus).  II had to order extra for hummus (it's better than Elena's hummus)Besides that ,everything was good.  The quality of rice was better than Elena but taste not as good.

Honestly I prefer Elena myself but I think they really are more or less the same.  The reason I gave Elena five stars is definitely because of the hummus~~

Literally a stones throw from our apartment, my boyfriend and I end up eating here probably once a week when we are feeling really lazy. The food is always fresh and has pretty decent flavor, even if their hummus isn't really all that great (too oily, maybe). Which comes first, the cravings for Middle Eastern food, or finding oneself running errands in Glendale on a Sunday afternoon? The only problem with this scenario is, an awful lot of  Middle Eastern restaurants are closed on Sunday. Kebab Way, what an exception. I've driven by this place a thousand times without stopping so I never noticed their tidy little patio area.

I ordered a plate which included two kebabs, two pieces of pita bread, hummus, pickled turnips, and peppers. Hands down, this was the best lula kebab of my life. If came out piping hot and dripping fragrant, brothy juice onto the exceptionally soft, fresh pita. The downfall of kebabs in general is how dried out they can get while cooking. Kebab Way must have it down to a science, because this one was so, so juicy and tender. I wrapped the meat, hummus, and turnips up in the pita and made a little sandwich. My quiet solo lunch on their patio made for a very pleasant afternoon.

I left stuffed and it was only $6! I'll definitely be back. And, true to their slogan, I had "no heartburn."

Oh Kebab Way, you are always there for me! I eat here about once a week, sometimes more if I don't feel like cooking. It's a good, simple, tasty place for lunch or dinner. Not fancy at all, but the quality is very good, and so cheap!
I almost always order the Chicken Lula Salad plate, so delicious. The only thing I don't like is that they only have two options for salad dressing, and I don't care for either of them.
Service is great also, highly recommended!

Have you ever had that experience where you get all the way to the shopping center, get out of the car and realize you're very, very hungry? This happens to me all the time.  Fortunately, if you're going to Nordstrom Rack in Glendale and you have this experience, there are numerous delicious and affordable little joints to pick from.

Glendale used to be full of farmers. Not anymore. Well, maybe these people were farmers back in the old country, but now they run falafel restaurants. We ended up at Kabob Way, which caught my eye with its very original marketing slogan: NO HEARTBURN! Well, who doesn't want no heartburn? Nobody.  Certainly not me.

But this isn't a falafel restaurant, which we found out the hard way. I didn't feel like eating a big piece of meat, and neither did my granddaughter, so we ordered all the sides we like the most: smoked eggplant paste, yogurt spread with spinach in it, tabouleh, lentil soup, and basmati rice of all things. Somehow this order resulted in a bottomless plate of pita bread, most of which we brought home.

Middle Eastern food is very good. Everything was delicious, and we didn't have too much of any one thing. This is a great way for two people to order. When there are sides, we can always have a good meal.

The decor is average. Everyone comes here and it caters to all sorts. The service is fast and the place is clean. It's a nice family place. I would certainly bring my husband Harry here and I know he would like it.

I can't end this review without talking about the yogurt drink, which we thought would be sweet like an Indian lassi, but which was actually very sour. But if you give it a chance, you get used to it after a few sips -- it's a very good drink. I like it. It's like a rich buttermilk, and the fact is that it's very good for your stomach. It's a health drink. This is for people who have stomach trouble. And for people who want NO HEARTBURN! And we didn't have heartburn. Four stars.

I live right across the street from this hidden gem so one night after work when I was too lazy to go out of my way for dinner, I decided to give this place a try.

I'm not too familiar with all the different types of Mediterranean food so I asked the lady behind the counter (who was very helpful and friendly) for recommendations. She suggested a couple of their more popular dishes and after listing off a few, I decided the Chicken Lulu sounded the most appetizing. My order came out to no more than $7.xx and the food was brought out almost immediately. Everything was hot, delicious, and heartburn free just as promised. The portions are generous as I had enough food leftover to bring to work the next day. Delicious authentic mediterranean food for under $8, I will definitely be back again!

So it's not called "Kabob Way?"  Kabab?  Seriously?

This place has a "B."  It's cheap, but a "B?"  Too bad I didn't see the rating until after I picked up my food.

What sets this place apart is the seasonings. The chicken breast sandwich I ordered was absolutely perfect. The chicken was moist/tender, the bread was pressed, but the sauces and seasonings they're using knocked it out of the ball park. A+

The sandwich came with a side of tabouleh and hummus...not sure what to do with hummus if there's no bread to dip it in, ended up spreading the dip onto the sandwich itself.

All said...the $6.99 for the sandwich was fair. But to be honest, many local kebob joints offer similar portions for $1 - $2 less. Add a drink and I ended up paying $9.43, I usually can skate away for under $7...and that's the only reason I give 4 instead of 5 stars.

Still, the chicken breast sandwich is a must try if you're in the area.

Stopped in yesterday and ordered 2 chicken lule kabobs a la cart thinking they were going to be small. Was I wrong! Those damn things were huge, I had one and enough left over for lunch today!!
The spices and marinade were perfect, and it lives up to it's "No Heartburn" slogan. The ladies behind the counter were very nice and polite, and the cooks were on top of their game. I'll definitley be coming back.

Damn it all to hell this place is kabab-a-liciously perfect for lunch!  I am such a sucker for kababs/hummus/saffron/pita/lavash and all foods Greek,  Persian, Armenian, and Lebanese.  Working in Glendale I am surrounded by a plethora of such eateries and when I find one that I can get in and out of and back to work on time while feeling extremely satisfied with the quality I consider it a victory.

Ordering is simple, as pointed out in Rod V's review, simply go to counter and point at the display board. Although I find it's more appreciated and evolved to actually use your words.....but sometimes when you're HUNGRY I imagine one could easily revert back to caveman status.

Everything on the menu is dee-lish, the service is friendly and speedy, the place is clean, and the parking is easy.

    Enough said.

OMFG, the beef kabobs are even better than the super juicy chicken thigh kabobs. And as far as the chicken,  people please. You probably already know this but please go for the thigh meat over breast meat.  Only a few more calories and never ever dry.  (and try the beef, thanks!)
