At 18 degrees above the equator, this is the furthest point south in the USA. The one-lane road to here is in such a poor condition that only locals and daring tourists drive through. Get a strong and high vehicle like a Jeep if you want to be a daring tourist as the path is bumpy and the slopes are steep. The end is an amazing view of steep cliffs, crashing waves, fallen lava tubes. From this point, you can hike to the Papakolea Beach (aka Green Sands Beach).
