Went with 3 buddies at around 8pm on Monday night for the buy 2 get 1 free deal. Overall a bit pricey (46 bucks since we had to get the license crap), but it was a blast. We never had to wait more than 10 minutes to race, so we got all 3 races in with time to spare. We probably got lucky but we never had more than 6 people in our races, and the last race was just the 4 of us.

The staff was friendly and helpful, they did a pretty good job of waving off slower drivers to let you pass em more easily. The race results printout they give you afterwards is a nice bonus and great for the stats nerd in you.

I'd say try to go with a bigger group of friends, so you don't have to race with potentially idiotic or douchebaggy drivers. Happy racing.

I can see why they they have a sticker outside that warns you of addiction. After 4 races here today, I can definitely see this becoming my next [expensive] hobby.

They do provide you all you need to race. There's no jumpsuit required here because these are electric karts, not gas powered. All you need is the balaclava and a helmet. You can also bring your own helmet (must be a full face with a face shield). Since I ride a Vespa, they let me use my own helmet.

They changed the track recently and I'm told it's much faster than the previous track. It definitely felt fast. If you find the right lines, you barely have to touch the brakes. It is an absolute rush to blast through corners almost flat out.

You can also check your score and compare it to others all-time, online. As of typing this review, I am currently 19th overall for the week, with a lap time of 32.42.

The only problem is that it IS addicting, and thus can become pricy. It is $20 per race, but if you come in Monday through Thursday, you can take advantage of their buy-two-get-one free offer, and get three races for $40. Even better, on the score sheets is a $5 off coupon, which you can use to purchase additional races, and pay only $35 for three races. That comes out to about $12 a race, which is not bad at all.

Very fun and entertaining! They provide all the gear that you need which is a head mask and helmet! It's totally chill and fun, and no fumes since it's electric cars!

The only downside..it can get a bit pricey...be sure to look up for any deals they might have...

This place is very nicely built. The staff didn't really tell us much but look at me like I've been here a million times. The course is okay but I think I wanna go to the other places where you put on a suit and go a lot faster. These were definitely easy to drive and not challenging at all. It's a good place to go on a date because the girl wouldn't be as freaked out as going to those other places where the Go Karts speed up to 50mph.

I have never been in the other locations but this one in Anaheim is my favorite....It's very fun to go with a group of friends/co-workers...I usually go on lunch time with co-workers and get the Lunch Special Deal ($25 - 10laps) ... I believe there are better deals these days....*This place is clean and has food court on the side; however, I do not recommend to eat right after the race, it gets most of us kinda sick so wait a lit while before you eat :P

Quick & Dirty:  Fun kart racing if you can stand the wait and the prepubescent boys running around everywhere.

Long & Third:

http://static.px.yelp....

There's nothing quite like the feeling of slamming teenage kids into the walls on the track at K1.  Eat it you little shits!

The kart racing here is pretty bad-ass.  The wait to race is not.

We got there at 6:30 PM and didn't even get our names called until 8!  People who arrived after us raced before us and when I asked the manager why, all he could say was that he'd give me a free race for next time.  Cool, but still a lame wait.

So during the wait we pounded a couple of Red Bulls and watched the other racers.

These karts are deceivingly fast.

http://static.px.yelp....

There is an upper level with leather couches and tables and chairs where you can look down and watch the action.

http://static.px.yelp....

From off the track these karts don't look too quick, but once you strap that helmet on and zip out onto the track, watch out!

If you're a newbie they give you a quick tutorial on what the flags mean and if you are a race fan you already know these things.

On the track you will be sure to get your pulse racing and your adrenaline pumping as you zip and drift your way around other drivers as you vie for your best time.  Time is what you are racing.  Whoever has the best lap time wins.

I came in third!  EAT IT ANTHONY O.!  He came in 10th!!!!  What a LOoooooSER!

The price:  $20 for 14 laps + $6 for a "License" for new drivers, but bring it back and you don't pay the $6 again.

Worth doing every once in a while but not all the time.

Would I go again?  http://www.youtube.com...
It's just like that!

Should you go?  http://www.youtube.com...
Why not?

See you in the winners circle,
Sam

I've always wanted to be a movie star, you know, the type that has a bald head, an incredibly deep voice, and muscles like Hulk Hogan in his glory days?  Oh wait.  Vin Diesel's already got that niche covered. Damn. Fine then, I'll settle for being his not-so-bald, not-so-throaty, not-so-muscular stunt double.  Especially if it was for The Fast and the Furious.

Okay, scratch that. I don't want to be Vin Diesel's stunt double.  I want to be the hot chick with a helmet tucked under one arm, stepping out of a sick fixed up ride with her vinyl stiletto boots.  Yeah, her.

Go-Karts?  Meet a crazy Asian chick who drives like a crazed psycho amped up on speed. Crazy Asian chick who drives like a crazed psycho amped up on speed?  Meet your wildest fantasy.

Just walking in through the doors of the K1Speed building hypes up my blood pressure, I swear.  But in a good way, though.  Like teenage boys salivate over the latest issues of the contraband Playboy magazine, my eyes grow wide as they take in the curvy trail of black rubber.  My pulse quickens as my ears register the sounds of whooping bystanders and zooming vehicles.  I'm like a kid in a candy store.  Except there's no candy. Hmm.

I check in using my handy-dandy little membership card and wait for my name to be announced.  As soon as I hear "Cathy K!" boom out over the speakers, my pulse quickens another notch.  Casually, effortlessly, I sidle over to the booth to pick up my helmet.  Rules and procedures?  Pshh, please~ I'm a pro.  I pick up a helmet that's just my size, and after slipping on my mugger's mask, I shove my head oh-so-sexily into the headgear.

I'm sure I look damn sexy.

Once the last set of drivers are cleared off the track, I stroll over to my oh-so-hot go-kart and strap myself in.  I lovingly stroke the steering wheel, telepathically cooing to it, "Let's rock this race, baby."

And I go. Fast. Hard. I attack every twist and turn with a ferocity that surprises even me.  I floor the gas pedal, and with a sudden, precisely-timed brake action, I drift past the sharp corners.  I leave the amateurs in the dust.  Bitch, please. You can't keep up.

The race is over, and I seductively pull off my helmet to toss my long, shiny tresses.

Shit, I forgot about the mugger mask.

Hmph.  Now I look stupid.

Haha.

Whatever.

K1Speed is freaking awesome.  I get to play out my fantasy of being a sexed-up racer chick in the safety of an indoor rubber track in a go-kart that only goes like 40 mph.  Whatever.  It's still fun to indulge in the fantasy.

I may not ever get to be the sexy stiletto-heeled femme-fatale of the racing world (have you EVER driven stick shift in high heels? It's impossible to shift, I tell you.  You can't hit the clutch without pointing your toes like a prima ballerina!), but at least I can pretend to be... in not-so-sexy attire and a not-so-sexy car.  At least this is the next best thing!  ^^

I came here for a company party.  Fun times!  I didn't have to pay... if I did... i would probably down grade it to 3 stars.  The races seem to go by fast.  But if you get invited here for a company party I highly suggest going!

Money aside though, the carts go FAST.  The place is really clean and the staff is friendly.

Very fun!

The cars race up to 40mph and the track has many turns to skid and swerve through.  The average number of racers on the track at one time is about 7-10....which isn't too bad, unless you've got a newbie driver that won't get outta the way.

I feel very protected when i go here.  They make you wear a yellow head sock and a helmet over it with a visor shield.  Your strapped into your race car and the cars feel very stable, even through the sharpest of turns.

A race consists of 14 laps...the avg price is 3 races for $50.  yes....it's a bit pricey.  They have a "Buy 2 races, get a 3rd free" special on Monday and Tuesday night (7pm-close).  The special brings down the price to about $30-40 for three races.  Personally....i think two races are sufficient.  I was completely drained after the 3rd race.

The downfall.....it's f'n hot in that place.  After three races....when i took my helmet off for the last time...my head smelled like a sweaty foot stuck inside a sneaker all day.  nasty.  They give new head socks with each race....so no need to worry about the helmets stinking up on you due to a previous user.

Definitely a lot of fun....especially if you're a competitive individual.

I love this place.  If you like racing, this is a decent thrill.  You sign up for a license ($5) then a 14 lap race ($20) and wait; sometimes 5 minutes to an hour depending on how busy it is.  You get one of those skimasks and a helmet and a cart and off you go.  During the race you can see your times and rank on the big screen on the wall and afterwards get a print out as well as the ability to go online and see how you fare with others.

I race with Steve S. and beat him all the time so its fun only when you win!

Don't forget to look for a $5 off coupon they have every month (email).  Also at lunch time its only $15 for 12 laps so $10 with coupon is a good price.

I just went tonight.  The track is sooo hard. My arms are still sore from the power sliding and drifting I was doing with my cart.

K1 is located off the 91 freeway in a huge warehouse. Upon entering, you'll see half of the track. I have to admit, they put A LOT of money into this place. They have bumping music, fancy lounges, pool tables, arcade machines, and a food court thingy.

I saw the lights flashing everywhere and hearing the carts zooming by as I was standing in line to register for the race.  This place tries and make you feel like you're really going to race real race cars, and to be honest, I was so pumped to hop in the cart and take off.

As I finished paying the people, I stood in line with my friends to wait our turn. Since this was my first time, they gave me a crash course of what not to do... of course, I didn't listen because I was trying to get my helmet on haha.  As i got into my cart, I realized that it was electronic and not gas powered which is awesome because i won't be coughing my lungs out while driving.

The track I think is pretty tough. The effing chicane part... throws me off.  I would have to power slide going into those turns. It's fun but after a few laps, my arms started to get tired and I felt dizzy but then again, maybe it's because it was my first time.

Overall, this place is cool. I would definately come back again. It's a lot of fun with a lot of people.

WOW!! Big, pretty, clean, colorful. Track is large, but the racing is a bit dull compared to gas tracks like Dromo 1 and Kart Factory, When someone wrecked, which I don't see how this guy was able to go under the wall, it felt like I was on a bumper car ride and the ride was over, it's safer that they can control the cars power but it takes away from the sense of "racing". It's a fun activity, bogus they make you pay for the ID.

Over all.. BORING!!  They'll be gone soon..

K1 ia a dump.. it's the Disney of kart racing. It's like autotopia at Disneyland.

This place just opened on Dec. 6th (so I was told). My company held a team-building event here the next day. So if you go here and see a ton of rubber streaks on the track and banged up barriers, it's because of us...we can't drive for shit. It's a brand new place and we managed to tear up the track already. Hah!

The track is situated inside a hugh warehouse. It's challenging enough for the pros with its twists and hairpin turns, but manageable enough for beginners like myself. The go-karts are easy to drive and provide a lot of zip. Using the brake is not really necessary; just power-slide (Mario Kart style) your way through the turns and you will get great lap times.

There's a recreation room with a foosball table and pool table so you can kill some time before you race. Not surprisingly, they sell a ton of Red Bull at their refreshment area called "The Pit." Drink one or two and you'll have the need for speed in no time! The music they play, the leather couches and tables in the upper walkway, and the lighting system make you feel as if you're in a club...with go-karts. How...awesome...is...that!!

I'm not sure as to how the pricing is for go-kart racing because it was all free for me! I'm sure it'll cost you a pretty penny...but it's worth every bit of it!

My favorite K1 Speed.  I guess mainly because of the technical challenge and length of the track.  You get the most for your money.  Ontario is fun, because it's fast, but after going to Anaheim, it's kinda boring.  Employees are really cool too.  As Steve S. says, make sure you go on Monday or Tuesday after 2 and get the 3 for 2 deal.  You can even load up your card and use them later, which is what I do.

K1 also asphalts their tracks to be more realistic.  It makes a big difference over straight concrete.  Look for John T always trying to get the fastest time of the week/month! LOL

If you're a fan of kart racing and have visited K1 Speed before (Irvine / Ontario / Carlsbad), then you should definitely check out their newest location in Anaheim.

This track is huge and very technical, which really forces you to learn the best lines for low lap times -- average is around 35-seconds.

Like always, make sure you visit on Monday or Tuesday (after 2pm) to take advantage of their 2 races for the price of 1 special.

This place is out in the boonies, well, going at 9p there was no other cars on the roads near this place. Easy to find nevertheless.

Let's start with walking in...

Walk in to a large impressive warehouse. One track, over-track viewing with sofa couches and chairs. Large game room, cafe, etc. Many viewing choices.

You follow the path up to the counter, if this is your first time, use the computer to register yourself. Then go to the desk and wait for them to call you and sign you in. $20/session=14laps.

The thing I wasn't familiar with is their scheduling. Other tracks they'll let you sign up for specific times and let you know when the races are. When I bought my racing license and I asked for 2 sessions, I later found out I was only signed up for one at a time about an hour later (it was busy). So now I have a $20 credit with them, which means a trip back to socal in the the coming 364 days.

I would suggest a schedule board on one of the many LCDs they have throughout to let you know when your race session is coming up, this will keep folks from bothering the lead marshall as to when you'll be up.

Eventually your session will be up, they'll call your name, but with all the noise and music, it's hard to hear if your name was called or not; go back to the lead marshall to find out... or just look on the screen if your name is listed.

Wait near the gate, get a headsock, they'll show you how the karts work, etc. Grab a helmet, go to your assigned car (again, look at the screen or ask the lead marshall for kart number).... if they had a dedicated screen you could know this before you go in, save on confusion.

Jump into the kart, adjust the seat, put on the seatbelt over your head and buckle. I brought my own gloves, they do not provide neck brace or suit, street cloths. This is the first karting place I've been to where there's no neck brace.

Wait to be staged and drive through start/finish.

At first the karts are electronically speed controlled, even if you're still on full throttle, once all the cars are on track they remove the speed govener and off you go.

Karts are electric, you don't get the engine noise you may be familiar with from gas karts. Since these are electric karts, the management allows them to dial-back the speed or cut power in case of accidents, etc. Once you get full power, these karts are fast. They pick up speed instantly vs gas , also you dont get the same feedback on the accelerator as you do on gas karts... In a gas kart you can feather the throttle and hear the engine, in these karts you dont get the same feeling.

I'm also less tired with these karts, these karts aren't that heavy on the steering.

Track and location is still new, so the track is still sticky and had great grip. There's a dark spot on the back side coming out of the back tunnel, watch out on the blind left-hander.

Track is about 33sec. My first time on this course and in these carts yielded in the 35sec range. Not bad.

One of the newest K1 locations, this is far better than Carlsbad or Irvine. The track actually takes up the entire venue, instead of being split into 2. Staff is friendly, although the location is a bit hidden. The track is nicely laid out into a combination of 180s and chicanes. But do watch out for turns 3 and 4 (left hand sweeper) after the start / finish line. The tarmac's a bit bumpy so if you don't take the right line, it'll definitely throw you off a bit under full throttle. Why 4 stars? The last time I went, they stuck me on the track with six 12-something year old girls. Bullshit. Waste of race at 20 bucks a pop.

there are a couple of reasons why i chose to give this one 5 stars.
first of all, i went last friday to film for my work and damn....this asian chick that worked there (forgot her name) was super cute. also i was semi buzzed when i drove the car. another thing was it was sooo fun, dude those cars go really fast, and the track is very nicely layed out.
lastly, they say theres no bumping but me and my c0-worker must have crashed about 4 times; head on going like 30-40 mph!, and they didnt say anything....so yea..defenitely check it out

I think this k1 Speed has the best track for some reason. There is only one track here, compared to the one in Irvine that has two. This is the place to take your family and/or friends for a good time. I have seen small kids to older adults doing this. So after the whole race of 14 laps you get a piece of paper that tells you what place you got. Your place is the result of your best lap time. So make sure you at least get one good lap.

Of all the K1 Speed tracks I have been to....the Anaheim track is the most FUN.  I think it is due to the fact it is the newest track in the K1 Speed track locations.  It is in a very central location to North OC and short drive from South OC.  Great for parties and get togethers for your friends who love speed and thrills.  My buddies and I had a great time competing against each other because we see our results on the multiple televisions with our lap times and place.  It is for bragging rights amongst friends!  SURE....it is pricey, but if you can go during the week during the lunch hours, Monday & Tuesday evening specials may work for you if want to do it on a smaller budget....you are in for a thrill!
