My friends and I have never referred to K.C.'S Saloon by it's real name. In fact, I had to search online to find it's actual name. To us and to everyone I know, K.C.'S has always been known as the 'Divorcee Bar'.
Now, I like divorcees. I especially like the ones who desperately cling to that last shred of youthfulness like a man who has been buried alive furiously claws away at the ceiling of his own coffin. These are the women who's milk has soured like a half gallon of two-month old bodega 2%. You can't swing a dead cat inside of K.C.'s without hitting one of these tired, spent women.
The male patrons at K.C.'S are almost equally entertaining. They tend to vacillate between overweight, middle-age men praising the FDNY and calling Alex Rodriguez an 'overpaid pussy' and overweight, middle-age men reliving their wasted youth by playing bass in Def Leopard cover bands.
Reveling in the despair of others isn't the only great thing about the Divorcee Bar; It's located right across the street from the LIRR station, so you can drink up until the very last second before getting on the train.
I have only one small complaint about K.C.'S: The last time I was in there, I noticed a stack of coasters with the logo for Kona Beer on them. Not a big deal, but K.C.'S wasn't serving Kona Beer. So I stole them all.

K.C's... its a real dive.....
for quite some time my best friend and I would go to KC's on tues nights for karaoke. After growing up in bayside, I have been around my fair share of annoying people that hang out on bell, but this place is a different crowd. It's the kind of place where if you go one week, and come back the next people are going to remember you. It's a fun time and a really laid back place.
