Okay here's my disclaimer: I am friends with the owner, Benson, who is just about one of the nicest guys I know. Seriously, sometimes the guy is a borderline push-over. And I warn him about that all the time. Don't hold this against me (oh now Britney's song is stuck in my head), but if you asked him for a small discount, I'm sure he'd fold in about a minute and agree. Just don't mention that Elaine thinks he's a pushover- until AFTER you get your discount :)
But that's not why I am rating this establishment 5 stars.
K&D Furniture has an array of pieces for the bedroom, kitchen, living room, and dining room. Most of their furniture is customizable in whatever length and width you require (especially their shelves and dining room buffets). And wait for it.... here's the reason for the 5-star rating: furniture NOT at outrageous pricing that you'd expect to pay for custom built items.
I was told that my sofa set would arrive weeks after Chinese New Year, as the pieces are shipped from their warehouse in Hong Kong. I was fairly notified of this delay before purchasing my items. As long as you're okay with waiting 6-8 weeks for some larger pieces, there really isn't much to complain about. Just as a reference, C&B and Pottery Barn hold the same policies for their shipment timelines. Don't EVEN get me started on how long Ethan Allen makes their clients wait. But, look- if it's a piece that you'll enjoy for years, then make due with being without it for a few weeks/months. It is usually worth the wait. Don't break down and purchase something from IKEA that will later break down on you.
If you're shopping for furniture, stop by K&D to see if you like any of their pieces. They have additional locations at the Embarcadero Center (Hiya, Percy!! - a delightful and hilarious staff member), San Jose, and two new locations in LA. -

Benson is truly a man of his word.. i went back to the store.. saw some furniture that we loved.. bought it for a great price! Great Customer Service.. and trust me, he never forgets about his customers.. and STANDS behind his products... he's honest and a great person... i rarely give 5 stars, but him and his staff deserves 5 stars! and the cool french bulldog!!

My boyfriend and I bought a couch and a table from this place and found the prices really cheap because they import their stuff from China. Even though we are Chinese, we were skeptical on the quality, but after close examination of the floor models and given the professionalism of the floor salesman (Benson), we went ahead and ordered the items. The table was promised in 3 weeks, but ended up arriving 2 months later, and it was frustrating talking to Benson about it, because he had no idea until he finally caved in and ordered the table for us from their Texas location (I don't know why he didn't think of this earlier!!!)
We're still on schedule for the couch, so I'll try to keep you all posted on that delivery!
Still, the place has very nice designs for reasonable prices.... I'm a sucker for a good deal. -

Love it, just happened to fall into this store when we went to BoConcept. BoConcept was okay, the design seemed a bit dark, maybe if you were a bachelor with no spouse, it would be fine, but for normal living, all the furniture just ate up all the light.
Walked into K&D furniture. OMG, everything there were almost exactly like a replica from either B&B or LIgne Roset down the street. Have a 1 yr old, so can't go all crazy with the furniture. Saw this gorgeous tv stand and was immediately in love with it. It will totally compliment our other ligne roset stuff at a fraction of the cost. Sat on the sofas and couch, it was good material with really good finish. The sales people were not pushy either,they just sat around with their mac books until you approach them with a question.
So once we move into our new pad, we're coming here to get that entertainment center. It's a low stand with like 3-4 drawers with good looking metallic legs.

The merchandise is some of the finest quality available.
I have done some scouting for my designer friend in LA (who would definitely order from them on my say so for his wealthy clients).
I had an issue which was resolved by Steve the Manager which tells me that the store is right on track.
The showroom is spacious and it's definitely worth a "look see" for anyone interested in excellent and unique contemporary design.
Some of the lighting fixtures are the most unusual I have seen anywhere. -

When they tell you when your furniture will arrive: they're lying.
When they give you a revised date for delivery: they're lying.
When they say the "manager will call you next week" to discuss why your furniture is a month late: they're lying.

I am moving in two weeks and I decided that I am going to invest in some adult furniture... I have been eyeing my friend Tanya's beautiful TV console...finally had to ask where they bought it from. Turns out that her husband picked up the piece from K&D, right next door to his office.
I've seen similar pieces at BoConcept and other posh furnishing joints for anywhere from $1000-$2000.
I walked into K&D on Saturday, and found a good selection of pieces in various sizes and finishes. The best part--they were all on sale for about 30% off retail. Benson was extremely helpful and he was not pushy at all. I walked out the store empty handed but before the end of the day I called him at the store and placed my order!
They don't handle delivery but recommend RMS which delivers for a number of furniture stores in SF. My piece is coming tomorrow and I can't wait!
They also do customized pieces, too and Benson will work with you to find the perfect piece(s) to fit your needs.. -

I can't say enough good things about K&D. We LOVE this store! They were a dream come true for us - after months of looking for help designing a modern (and reasonably priced) kitchen for our new home, we found K&D in a Dwell-type magazine. We instantly fell for their clean lines, quality hinges/fixtures, uber modern design, and fabulous prices. Stephanie and Benson were a joy to work with and a few months later our custom designed, super sexy kitchen arrived. Their introductions to a carpenter and stone installers were a match made in heaven (also with super competitive quotes). We had already been salivating over their furniture, so once the kitchen was done, we returned and basically furnished most our house with it. Again, we found both Benson and Stephanie great to work with (even sent them flowers to say thank you!) and recommend them to everyone we know. Their gorgeous line of modern furniture is matched only by their fabulous prices.
