We descended upon the JW mid Friday afternoon, and even though we were armed with points, and way too many people for 1 room ( we were having a party downstairs), we were immediately shown to a very nice room.

The bathroom really makes the room -- granite double sink, top notch products, and a walk in spa shower.
The bed itself is as heavenly as the Westin's Heavenly bed, and you get the class of a JW ( see my Westin review)

I guess I should review it separately, but I will mention that the bar downstairs, as well as the restaurant Second Home accommodated our large group with ease -- even though a wedding and another large group all shared the space simultaneously.

My first preference is usually a boutique hotel, and the JW tries to give you a boutique feel inside a chain.
Well done.

i usually laugh at the pathetically picky people who review high-end hotels and complain about things like dust on a windowsill or the voices of passersby in the hallway at 3 in the afternoon. but, i must join them with some nitpicks of this hotel. overall, it was a nice stay and i was glad we got to see the place, but i will definitely try another place next time i want to stay in the area.

Pros:
1. Great bed! Everybody's said it, but it's true. We had a great night's sleep which was much-needed. Worth the price of the room.

2. Concierge was friendly and gave us the name of a nearby sports bar/restaurant that was exactly what we had in mind for the evening.

3.  The lounge area of the Second Home was indeed an enjoyable place to hang out. Some ohh-la-la women paraded through - actually posing for pictures - which made for great people watching.

Cons:
1. Room service breakfast was GROSS. $47 for a bland omelette, burnt potatoes, the yukkiest scrambled eggs I may have ever had, and the most bland, undercooked pancake (flapjack) you could imagine. They forgot a set of cutlery, which isn't the end of the world, but it's annoying to have to make a phone call to ask for a fork.

2. Too-chatty check-in . There's friendly, good service and over-the-top jokey that gets intrusive. I sound like Larry David, but I felt like Larry as we had to exchange silly one-liner after another with the desk clerk (a manager, actually) just killing time while the check-in system booted up or something.  He made joke after joke about me spending all my husband's money shopping.   I was in fact there to do some shopping (with MY money), but not girlie, gotta-have-it, i-love-shoes, it's-so-cute shopping. By the time we got to our room I refused to go into any stores. In fact, I felt so weird and self-conscious I didn't shop at all, defeating the purpose of my stay.

3. Bored staff - By late Sunday morning the staff were either so bored they couldn't speak above a grunt or they weren't awake yet. Either way, we were grunted at.

4. No pool or hot tub.

Stayed here for my bachelorette party in Denver in Late april. My bridesmaids know how much I love to stay at nice hotels and they surprised me by splurging on this great hotel.

First of all the weekend we were there was a blizzard so that was kind of dissapointing. However the hotel made up for all of the dissapointment. Upon arrival they upgraded us to two executive suites. We had special card access to our floor which also allowed you access to the executive dining room which has a wine and appetizer hour and full breakfast in the morning. While we were there the New Orleans Hornets NBA team was also there it was fun seeing all the really tall basketball players walking around.

Also the service was unbelievable. A few of my girlfriends and I had gone to get our nails done accross the street. My other girlfriends arrived at the hotel looking for us but weren't sure what nail salon we went to the concierge called about 5 different salons in Cherry Creek to track us down and no my girlfriends did not ask him to do this!

Furthermore the day we were leaving a few of us needed a ride to my friends house where the wedding shower was being held and we asked for a cab. Instead of a cab the hotel offered us a ride in a cadillac escalade limousine complimentary. I seriously could not believe it. I will stay in this hotel again when in Denver and it is WORTH the splurge.

Great place to stay for the weekend or any occasion.

My wife and I went down for a "night by ourselves" (actually our anniversary) and were pampered.

Bed - beyond compare. Slept like a baby wrapped in the most luxurious cloth. Didn't want to leave the next morning.
Bath - huge and loved the shower.
Service - I'd ordered Champagne and Chocolate Covered Strawberries, there waiting and what a nice treat.
Bath Robes - softest terry cloth around. (I had to hold my wife back from accidentally "packing hers".)

Close enough to downtown for nice dinner out and shopping galore in the area at Cherry Creek.

We were there only 1 night, but it was well worth it, even if we were in our own backyard. (We're from Boulder)

Great bed - so darn comfy.  Great service too, and free wireless.

Very convenient if for whatever reason you need to be staying in Cherry Creek - lots of great shopping in this tony part of Denver.

Minus one star for mediocre bath product.  The packaging was nice, but the actual product was 'meh.'  Smelled funny.

If you are traveling to Denver you must stay at the JW.  The rooms are huge, with the most amazing bathroom, two of you can actually get ready at the same time.  It is in a great location, surrounded by shopping and tons of restaurants...........

But the best part is the service!  ANDREW the bellman there is OUTSTANDING.  He always remembers my name, what I like and bends over backwards to make sure my stay is perfect.  On  our last visit, while delivering our bags, he found something that was not perfect about the room.  So he got us a new room and tracked us down at a restaurant a few blocks away just  to let us know and give us a key to our new room.........amazing.

The concierge there (can't remember his name) was able to get us hockey tickets to a sold out game with a few hours notice.  Not only did we get tickets at face value he was able to get us seats in the third row center ice!!

The front desk staff is also a delight.  They do small but notable things like walk around the desk to hand you your keys while telling how to get to your room.

This is by far the best hotel that I have ever stayed in ANYWHERE and I travel a lot!

The hotel manager should get an A+ for running top notch operations

The bed was great.  The bed is my first step in evaluating each hotel I revue.

The location cannot be beat.  The customer service was really outstanding and they checked us in efficiently and quickly.  They also remembered us every time we came back...I am a sucker for that.

great place for happy hour, which lasts all night.  wonderful small plates (oh those pork sliders!) and great deals on wine, champagne, and cocktails.  service is so-so, but only because they tend to have one server working the bar and the patio area (oh that fire pit!!) so one person has to cover too much territory.  despite that pressure, servers have been very nice and upbeat and ready with suggestions.
