I have modeled for multiple photographers over the years, something you can come to dread. Working with Julian was an out and out joy. He is phenomenally gifted in putting his subjects at ease, then drawing their true selves out, and finally capturing that concentrated self on film. A session with him is not a grind, it's not work; it's a party and it shows.

Julian shot my wedding several years ago, and everyone loved the experience. He setup a complete photo studio for the guests, and everyone got to get prints from the event.

Many wedding photos are boring and look the same, Julians team of photographers knows how to take it above the next level. And many of the guests have hired him for family photos. I gave 5 friends xmas gifts last year of 1 hour photo sessions with Julian's studio.

    Julian is a fabulous photographer.

If you need photographs that effortlessly capture the very *essence* of a wedding or engagement party, or a special event or product then Julian is your man.

    Here's why:

-Julian is a technical master; and you will never need to know - it all just works.

-Julian understands people and is made out of love for them.  This is how he creates magic at any occasion, and what really sets him apart.

Working with him is not work at all.  You'll have fun, and smile, and laugh, and have interesting conversations, and at the end he will have produced amazing work for you, just like he's been doing for hundreds of people for many years.

Take a look at his work and talk to him, I'm sure you'll find it worthwhile.

Julian's photographs and portraits are among the most skilled and beautiful I've ever seen. I've seen his wedding photography, his personal portrait work, and his surveys of a particular subject, and it's all superlative.

I can't say I have the world's most recognizable face, but once Julian took a photo of me, put it on a magnet (with other photos) and distributed them to a whole lot of people. His work is so distinctive that years later, I still run into people who say, "Wait a minute, don't I know you? Hold on, you're on my fridge!" That's pretty much entirely due to the skill and flair with which Julian brings out the interesting, the unusual and the beautiful in his subjects.

I'd recommend Julian in a heartbeat for any portraiture or event photography -- he has a professional eye and a kind touch such as I've never seen before.

Julian's playful spirit is abundantly visible throughout his work. Naturally cheery and creative, Julian possesses a special talent for bringing out these characteristics in others. There's a reason why everyone looks so happy in Julian's photos: sessions with Julian are always engaging, surprising, and, most of all, fun.

    Highly recommended!

I had my "light photos" taken by Julian at an ApacheCon a few years back and I still use them regularly. He's an amazing photographer whose fun with great personality and incredibly creative.

You can't go wrong by making him a part of your special day or event - he is a true artiste.

I have the same experience that many people have- I usually hate photos of myself. But when I look at the portraits of me taken by Julian I think "Hey, I like that awesome woman! Wait... that's ME!"

Julian sees you through a physical lens that is technically talented, but more importantly he sees you through an emotional lens that brings out your personality and your beauty.

Julian can make your photos be about you and your vision and capturing a moment of your best self. No other photographer will give you that same kind of experience- it's radical and profoundly enjoyable.

Julian was the first photographer I'd worked with who encouraged and supported me to just relax, from the inside. He acknowledged me as a real person, instead of just a photo subject. Then he looked at me from behind the camera and gave me this wonderfully mischievous and wise smile, and I immediately lit up in response. SNAP! amazing photo :D

He is a great human to make art with, plus he has an amazing sense of humor and a brilliant eye for composition. It doesn't hurt that the ideas and insights he expresses in his work are genius, either. I'd recommend him in a heartbeat to anyone looking for professionally done, tasteful, unique and just plain fun images.

I have had my photo captured by Julian, and I feel that the job he does is fantastic.  Julian is wonderful to work with, a pleasure, and very good at directing subjects to just that right pose.

I would recommend (and indeed, I am) him instantly for anyone in SF.

Julian is the best portrait photographer I've ever worked with, and his luminous images are some of the best I've ever seen.

He is well known in the geek convention circles, setting up shop and then working multiday marathons, creating portraits of the open source hackers and alpha geeks at OScon, MySQL conf, and FooCamp.

Having him create images for you will be a memorable and fun experience, and you will get work that is world class.

A decade ago, Julian shot the most evocative portraits that anyone's ever taken of me. We had met at Burning Man in 1998, when he set up camp next to us, along with a big, white backdrop, and in 1999, we spent a day doing portraits. He's a wonderful person with unique vision and those photographs really seemed to capture who I was -- and for that matter, still am.

While he is perfectly capable of taking a technically accomplished head or product shot, Julian takes it to a whole new level with his  backgrounds, lights, and angles.   View his light painting series (http://www.juliancash....) to be really wowed.

Julian also bring something really special to his photography - a joyful, optimistic personality that makes sitting for him fun and inspiring.

He also delivers on his photos fairly quickly.  The day after I attended a wedding where he shot photos, there were some wonderful jewels posted on his site for us to enjoy.

Julian's work stands apart -- the character he brings forth from his subjects is rare.

I hate sitting for photos and almost always shy away. Julian made me comfortable and I actually had a great time. I cherish the image he captured of me and also the group shots that he energetically took of us. He's great with everyone -- single subjects, kids, families, groups.

    I can't recommend him enough.

I was a fan of Julian's work from watching him do his stuff at burning man a decade ago, and was lucky enough to get him to set up his photo booth at our wedding.  Not only was it a non-stop party up there, with dozens of our friends laughing and enjoying the photoshoot, the photos came out simply amazing.

His energy and creativity led to some amazing shots of us and our friends, and his technique and detailed photoshopping made us all look like rockstars.

You cannot get a better wedding photographer.  Stop looking and hire Julian Cash.
