The name itself conjures up all sorts of scene montage for gothy goodness, lovers revenge, drowning morals & dark wishful thinking. This JuJu directly deals you the card for delightfulness of drinking debauchery.
It could often go unlooked as you stroll past the bar/restaurant row on this block.. Mama's kitchen, Lava Lounge, Shorty's--but JuJu stands on it's own once you find yourself drawn into it's long corridor dimly lit with flickering candles creating a spooky & sexy ambiance. The blown glass flames above the bar beckon you to take seat and observe some of the hottest bartenders ready to complete your bidding. These lovely ladies know how to concoct libations that leave liquor rolling down your throat in a serenade of sinfulness. Alex, Harmony & Rachel are divine dolls that keep you coming back for more..
The music changes like the weather here..they often have live DJ's spinning in the evenings-aiding to your head bobbing or sexy hip swaying self. There's always a diverse crowd and the music is no different whether it's live or streaming from behind the bar. If you decide whether you desire to be half tilt or full tilt..make sure to slide some bills in the photo booth for fuzzy memories of your visit or to add to the 'wall of shame'. Those that prefer a quieter or more intimate respite will find the rear patio savory. It comes complete with a mini koi pond for ambiance and heat lamps for those less than warm Seattle evenings.
One can conjure up many spirits here leaving enlightened or spitting fire.. you determine your own outcome. If fate or your feet find you here, one thing is for certain, JuJu will cast a spell on you..
A night of good Juju here; blazin' music, awesome scene, good strong drinks is all here.
Bartenders proved to be nice (got a free glass of marachino cherries), music was upbeat and blasting!
Low lighting made me want to steal the chandeliers for my room! Go here for a girl's night out.
Highly possible to score free drinks from fellow males.
Went here for the first time last night for drinks with a friend. Earlier in the evening, we were pretty much the only ones in there. Employees were friendly and decorating for some party. Prices seemed reasonable, and I really enjoyed the decor.
Spent a few hours on the patio out back, which was really clean and comfortable.
They lose 2 stars however because of their little koi "pond." Those fish should be in something MUCH bigger, and not have to deal with drunk people harassing them/dropping stuff into their home! (I know. I'm a crazy animal person, but still.)
My friend was doing her last-single-night-out in Belltown and as we jumped from bar to bar, I would have to say Juju was one of the best bars we stopped at. The music was loud, but fun and a great mix. The blonde bartender made three *perfect* drop-shot cherry bombs. I really just liked the feel of the place; subtly hip without pretension.
No five stars? Because I got charged more for the same shots than my friend. Boo-hiss.
I was waiting for some friends to show up for a b-day dinner right down the street and had some time to kill so the bf and I stumbled across this place for a quick drink. We walked up and down the street trying to find a place that would be "appropriate" for running in and having a quick drink without any fuss. It was perfect for what it was - we hopped over to the bar really fast, got a drink for $4 or $5, which for Belltown, seems pretty reasonable for me.
The bartenders were friendly enough - they seemed to know a lot of the regulars around here. The bar was completely empty around 8:30 or so...with only 3 or 4 other patrons, but when we walked past it a few hours later, there were people crowded outside in the little smoking area, so it looked like it picked up a bit.
I definitely wouldn't go out of my way to come here...but it was exactly what we were looking for and it served its purpose so no complaints here!
It looks a little dark and dingy inside...but maybe it's a good vibe for later at night.
Did some pre-funking here on new years eve and freakin loved it!!!
Drinks are stiff but not too stiff. The booth seating is comfortable and the lights low, with candles for some mood lighting.
At the end of the bar is a cool outdoor spot with koi fish. Another cool thing was the photo booth they had. My boyfriend and I had good times posing in the photo booth-neither had ever done it before.
Juju's locale is really great. It is within walking distance from other cool places like Spur, Txori, and See Sound. Lastly, I loved the music they were playing and could have had a great time there all night!
Not bad. The music last Saturday was a mix of old and new school hip hop which didn't make me feel too out of place since I recognized SOME of the songs. The space is long and skinny...ahem... so moving around is not really an option on a busy night.
I can imagine this place being a nice spot for a chill happy hour before dinner. On my way to the restroom in the back, a back patio, so I'll definitely give Juju another shot in the warmer months.
For happy hour, this place is fantastic. $2 for well drinks.
I got a double so that's $4. Yeah, I like the math.
The bartender Veronica was really nice. I decided to try one of their specialty drinks. Hmm, the $8 price tag was not so nice.
They sell food (but I think the pizza and Thai gets delivered from outside food vendors).
It's very well decorated bar with clean if a little smelly restrooms. It's definitely a better bet in terms of decor than its neighbor where scary people were hanging out front. This could explain why some of the other customers of JuJu were middle aged women.
Perhaps it gets younger later at night.
But c'mon, $2 well drinks? Yeah!
Rolled into JuJu's this weekend in order to listen to DJ FLIPTHELIGHTFANTASTIC. He was awesome, atmosphere was cool, and the photo developing booth in the back is a blast.
However, buying $30 in drinks and staying sober....yet being handed a $75 bar tab at the end of the night and then having a bartender blame it on my sober friends...NOT COOL.
Will go back, but won't use debit card again. So Sketchy.
We brought my sister here for her birthday; she wanted to hang out somewhere that everyone could sit down, drink and socialize without dealing with the typical crowds you find around Belltown. Surprisingly, it was pretty dead inside despite it being Friday night, but that worked out to our advantage. I liked it so much that some friends and I made a return visit the next day. This time around the place was full of people inside, though it wasn't completely packed.
You enter through a closed off front patio area, which is smoker friendly. Inside is dark and cavernous, with booths across from the main bar and huge seating areas in the back, including a giant outdoor patio (also smoker friendly). The drinks are good, though their mixers are served in really small rock glasses. I would suggest ordering a double instead if you want to get your money's worth.
Frankly, I'm really tired of the social scene in Seattle, especially around Belltown, but Juju is somewhere that I'll probably be coming back to more often. The bartenders here are pretty damn cool, and there was a live DJ both nights we were there. I wish I could say that all bars around the area should be like this. Though, like someone else already pointed out, it's nice to kick it in a part of Belltown that doesn't have dirtbags lurking the bars.
Yep, their doors were open tonight and man, what a beautiful space! Chandeliers and brick with a lot of the old artwork from the OG Bad JuJu still on the walls.
Their officially opening on Friday the 13th, but will be 'softly' opening until then..
Great, GREAT space with nice bartenders (thanks Alexis!).. This will definitely be a hot spot in the heart of Belltown..
and the JuJu lives on.. :)
Great location, sweet gothy decor, and cheerful bartenders set this apart from a lot of the trendier gimmick bars in the area. But what makes this a true destination is the sweet black and white photobooth, the groovy (if slightly odd) koi pond on the back patio, and Diego the dog, who often can be seen bellying up to the bar for a bowl of water.
This place's stiff bourbon and cokes definitely made my trip to Seattle more memorable and a little less... remembered.
Wandered into here with friends before a show at the Crocodile. Interesting music selection and cute layout. It's kind of narrow and long, but they work the space nicely. Super dark inside, which I like a lot. Drinks aren't too bad, but I can't really taste alcohol so maybe I shouldn't be the judge of that.
Apparently these guys are still in their soft opening until Friday the 13th, but we went in last night to take a walk around, have a drink, and chat up the few people who were there. We went in on a lark, attracted by the signless doorway and chandeliers beyond. The interior decor is cool, and I think the vast bathrooms will be good for all sorts of shenanigans, as will the photo booth.
I image the labyrinth of a hall between the raised seating area in the back will create a bit of a clusterfxk but the patio outside will be one of the few in Belltown where you can still drink. It is still to be seen how this place does in Belltown when the weather is nice and the crowds are out, but this is definitely better than what was in this location before.
I've been back a few times and it just breaks my heart. I liked it better before they put everything else in. I've had longer waits for a drink due to bartenders talking to other people (who already have a drink). I find it hard to pay $3.00 (plus dollar tip) for a bottle of High Life, when I can get pints of cheap beer on both sides for a dollar less. The outdoor patio is nice, but the view of the cheap stairs to the studios above, dumpsters, and crack whores in the alley and dog park are not appealing. It's just really an empty shell of what was once one of my favorite bars in Seattle. I guess when they moved from their original location they should have just become something else.

From the ashes a new Juju will arise. Here's hoping that the third location is the charm. … Read more »
It needs more shit on the walls, feels a bit empty. Especially when there are only 4 other people there. This leads to great service during happy hour, when there are $2 wells. I couldn't find the photo booth.
3 frat boys came in...said the music sucked...they were playing KMFDM...and walked out....
good job juju...way to keep the riff-raff out!!!!

The shorter the name...the better it gets! Bad Juju Lounge theeeen Bad Juju theeen Juju. I knew it would resurface....like a really sexy decorated phoenix from the ashes of belltown condo construction. I hope this stays unlame - aka the douchie 1st ave jocks stay where they belong. 1st ave! Great drinks, fun photo booth! (Wish it wasn't digi...I am old fashioned in that aspect) I am just really excited about this place! Oh and did i MENTION?! Ok, i didn't....but I will now...They will serve Via Tribunali pizza! Uh, I am loving it!
I love this cute ass bar with regular looking used couches/// a pretty cool ambiance//everybody just hangs out & drinks...
Really nice job on the decor. A patio out back adjacent to crack alley. A photo booth by the toilet. No real food or cocktail menu. Cute cozy booth setup. Alexis just seems too nice and pretty to be a bartender at the Juju but this is not the hill, this is belltown. Okay, I'm over it. I wasn't a fan of the staff on the hill. I will be drunk here very soon.
Unfinished Dive. This is a soft opening? Aside from the parking problems and Crack head that demanded change outside, it was OK, but who needs another Belltown destination? I'll stick to accessible West Seattle
Went here on Halloween, did not know the Bad Juju had a third incarnation. I was pleasantly surprised, being in Belltown and all. Smokers' Corral out in the front, there's a patio in the back I would check out if it were warmer. Nice space, lots of brick and darkness, candles, and a neat raised/walled area with a couple tables toward the back. Lines for the bathroom and photo booth merged, which was a bit confusing, so beware. There is another bathroom around the corner, which some nice guy pointed out to me at the end of the night. There's a chandelier in the bathroom, FYI. Service was decent and it was pretty packed, so that's a good sign. Didn't see a waitress, only bartenders. There was a DJ in the back corner, don't know how responsible he was for the musical selections throughout the night. The music started out good and devolved into bad 80s crap. In spite of that I would go here again.
On Halloween night I stopped in here with my boyfriend and some friends. My boyfriend went up to the bar with one of our friends to get a drink for himself and me. The bartender, a long haired brunette woman, gave him 3 drinks. When he said he only ordered 2 drinks, she insisted he ordered 3 and he was going to pay for all 3. They were about to argue when the other friend that was with him, offered to buy and drink the 3rd drink. So my boyfriend paid her for the 2 drinks, but gave no tip. The bartender then said "What, you going to be a dick and leave no tip?" And my boyfriend said "Don't let it ruin your night" He and our friend came back to the table and told us the story. Not 1 minute later the bouncer walks up to our table and tells us that my boyfriend has to leave. He then tells us the same exact story, relayed to him by the bartender, except the bartender said that my boyfriend said "Don't let it ruin your night, bitch" The bouncer said it was her word against ours and we had to go. Either this bartender has a serious hearing problem or has no qualms with using what little power she has to mess with the customers. Clearly, she lied to get him thrown out, because he didn't tip her.
