They have the best food in Woodland. We love the pastrimi Grinders. We bring family from out of town to eat at Judy's. They are #1 to us.
Fun
I've never been here. Ever. Even when it was supposedly the place to hang out during my generative teen years growing up here. It was only a recent trip to see my father when he requested some fried fish and chips for lunch. I usually take him out for sushi or something different, but today, he was craving fried food.
I pulled in Judy's and was surprised to see a Korean couple bustling about in the back.
I ordered the fried fish and chips and they proceeded to start on that order, the smell of hot grease fryers starting to take up a stance on the back burners.
During my wait, I perused the menu and various whiteboards on the walls. In addition to fried foods, they also offer hamburgers as well as sandwiches and generic salads. My father's fried fish and chips were huge and the strips of fish hung over the sides of the paper dish. On top of this, they threw two fried mushrooms as well as two fried strips of zucchini. Nice!
Located right on the major strip of Main street, it is the perfect place for the quick stop before getting on the road that leads you out of Woodland and to Madison.

This place was a family tradition growing up. Every year on the last day of school, being a half day, we would drive over to Judy's for lunch and get a burger and a shake. I took my business partner there for a casual lunch yesterday and we were both blown away.
It doesn't have the same feel it did growing up, the decoration is a little odd inside, looks sort of like they went to a thrift store or garage sale and just picked up whatever was cheap. But it still has the old arcade games back in the corner (although they look like they've been out of service for quite some time), and the classic car photos up on one wall.
The menu is a little overwhelming at first, and it's up above the counter, so you may feel like you're holding up the line if you take some time to peruse, but everyone does it, so don't worry. Take your time looking over the menu.
I ordered the bacon cheeseburger lunch special, but got curly fried instead of regular. The curly fries were good, nothing to rave madly about, but definitely nothing to thumb your nose at either. The bacon cheeseburger, on the other hand, was OUTSTANDING! I usually order a bacon cheeseburger wherever I go, but I think that Judy's may have ruined me for life.
My partner ordered a chili-cheese dog, and after taking one bite, looked over at me and said, "This may be the single best chili-cheese dog I have had in my entire life."
Way to go Judy's! We'll definitely be back soon.
This place is hilarious to me. My parents took me quite a lot when I was a kid. However I hadn't gone in a long time until recently. Don't get me wrong the food is good. The 1/4lb cheese burger is my personal favorite. The funny thing to me is there are SO MANY items on the menu and such a variety. From Burgers to jalepeno poppers to Philly cheese steaks to teriyaki chicken rice plates to ice cream. They also serve beer which is a plus for me!
There are like ten different styles of burgers on the menu and I would like to try them all, but I think I might have a heart attack if i try that anytime soon.
update: I ate here yesterday and got a half onion, half steak philly cheesesteak and quite frankly it disgusted me. So if you're not into onion sandwiches with a little bit of steak, ask them to go easy on the O!

Every now and then, you just need a sandwich for lunch.A freakin' big sand which. If you're in Woodland, you could go to Subway or Quiznos, but why? Why would anyone go to a chain place when Judy's is on the main drag.
Modeled after the Sancho shops that pepper New England, Judy's offers everything from traditional subs (grinders, whatever), to Cheese steaks, as well as the usual burgers and fries.
The price is a little bit expensive, but you do get your money's worth.
If you choose to get a burger, get the Texas burger, w/o fries. The burger is delicious, and will fill you up on it's own.
