Went to Mythos for dinner last night and a few doors down I noticed a sign for frozen yogurt. Usually, I park behind Mythos so I never really notice the other stores.
Jubilate describes itself as a frozen yogurt and coffee cafe whom states "We're concerned about your health & taste".
I was attracted to the frozen yogurt sign but was equally happy to see that they carry many other products such as: soft ice cream, Hershey's ice cream, smoothies, espresso, lattes, cappuccinos, teas, bubble teas, waffles, panini, wraps, sandwiches, cake, brownies and fresh fruit.
The great part about the frozen yogurt is that it is completely self serve. Last night the flavors were: plain, blueberry, green tea and peach. I tasted the latter three. They were all very good. The blueberry was by far the most dominant of the flavors. Next time I wan to try the plain.
According to their take out menu they sometimes have other flavors: mango, strawberry and pineapple.
Next, you can go to their toppings area and put your own toppings. There is a very generous variety of toppings. I started with fresh cut up fruit: mango, blueberries and pineapple and then I added some chopped up almonds.
They had various other fruits and sweet toppings such as: rice cake, strawberry, kiwi, blackberries, mini M&Ms, chocolate chips, etc. I barely skimmed the surface of the variety.
When you are done preparing your cup they weigh it and you pay $.60 per ounce. My generous portion ended up costing around $5.50
My go to frozen yogurt had been Yolato Express in River Edge on Kinderkamack Road but I like the variety and control better here at Jubilate!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Jul 17, 2010
Truly brilliant concept: you choose everything for your frozen yogurt. Start by choosing the size of your cup, flavor frozen yogurt, choose as many toppings as you want, and then weigh it ($8 per lb). It's so easy to go overboard on the toppings, but with choices that include fruit and nuts you can feel good about it. But if you want to be "bad" you can go crazy with tons of sugary sprinkles and the like.
We loved going here and we will be back when we visit family again in the future.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Jul 9, 2012
Most of the reviews have been on the yogurt. I've had Jubilate yogurt once and it was good, but not remarkable. However, in the immediate area of Fair Lawn-Paramus Jubilate is one of the best.
I go to Jubilate mostly for the drinks. I have had the bubble tea and smoothies, and they were all exceptionally delicious. They're not cheap (ranging approx. $4-$6 per small/regular size), but that's pretty equivalent to some of the drinks at Starbucks, so I won't complain (much) about the price. Plus, in terms of cold drinks, Jubilate's selection and quality easily beats Starbucks'.
The cafe itself is bright and clean and run mostly -if not completely- by the owner, who makes all the food and drinks.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Ali O.Hackensack, NJ4168210Mar 27, 2011
My girlfriend and I went and had tastes of their taro bubble tea, their chocolate soft serve, and their plain and strawberry frozen yogurt. Each new treat made me make "mmmm" noises. And it was fairly inexpensive. And they post their calorie count, so I know my dessert wasn't that bad for me.
My biggest criticism: the grammar on the cups. "We're concerned about your health and taste." Are you going to eat me, Jubilate?Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Jay K.Yonkers, NY2333Mar 22, 2010
UPDATE:
Since this review, there is new ownership, and the food menu seems to have been discontinued. I have not been there since the change, so this review is pending..... errr... review!

The yogurt is fantastic, the place is spotless and the help; friendly.
I tried a "Thai Chicken Wrap" today, and it was SHOCKINGLY good. I mean the freshest thing I ever ate. Lettuce, cilantro, sprouts, grilled chicken and a hint of peanut sauce. It blew my mind, for a price that was BEYOND reasonable.
It is, in short, my favorite place in northern NJ.
COMMENT ABOUT BELOW REVIEW by JACK K. :
Don't believe a word this guy says. You could eat off of the FLOOR at Jubilate, it's so damn clean. It sounds to me like he is a loud-mouthed HS freshman who went in, acted like a clown, irritated the clerk and got booted out. Then, he tries to "punish" this establishment by making up lies about poor cleanliness and "hair" in his food.
I don't believe him, and neither should you. I've been to this place at least a dozen times, and it's always clean... the food, fresh. The clerk may be a little aloof... but so what? I'm guessing this kid asked for it.
And, P.S. : Van Dyke smells like a kennel, and is 100x dirtier than this place; it's night and day. Jubilate has flair and aesthetic as well. Van Dyke looks like an abandoned high-school hallway. This just proves that Jack is a liar.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Lisa S.Fair Lawn, NJ30208Jan 7, 2012
I LOVE JUBILATE! A perfect sweet treat - light on calories and a ton of nutritious toppings to add. Great way to reward yourself without completely blowing your diet. Their coffee is delicious too. And the atmosphere is adorable and very pleasant!
I adore the owner - she is a very sweet Korean woman. And I just found out she is now offering a food menu of authentic Korean dishes she makes herself from scratch. We will most definitely be trying that soon . . .
Sure there are several other fro yo shops around with perhaps more gimmicky (junk food) toppings, but this thoughtful, independent local business deserves your business.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Nicole B.Philadelphia, PA9232419Dec 23, 2013
I've only ever had the bubble tea here, and it's some of the best I've ever had.
The first or second time I went the employee (whose name I can't remember, sorry!) recommended the taro flavor. It's now exclusively the flavor I order no matter where I'm having bubble tea...which says a lot.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Jess K.Little Falls, NJ136245106May 6, 2011
You are adorable, Jubilate. You are. You make me happy. Brightly colored, with adorable seating area, your froyo was fat- free and light and delish. The blueberry I tried was pretty good, but my favorite that i had was a mix of the plain and the peach-mango-hmmm mmm good! .60$/oz it is a good price and great to boot. If you are in Glen Rock, give this place a try!

So far I have never encountered a place like this. Real yogurt that's frozen.
It might not taste good to people that like tcby because it is nothing like it.
It has that little touch of sourness that real yogurt has.
You self serve, put on your toppings weigh it and pay for it.
The really nice thing about self serving is that you can mix whatever flavors you want and pile it on as high as you want or as little as you want since you pay by weight.
It is also really clean there and they also serve lots of other things like sandwiches, coffee, and teas.
Let me just say that whenever I go here with my husband and kids we end up sitting there eating our yogurt then having 2nds and 3rds. We keep going back for refills!!
They also have soft self serve ice cream that is non-fat!! but tastes YUMMY.
It is a hidden gem in a small little strip mall. Check it out!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Jerry F.Haledon, NJ111713Aug 18, 2011
I like Jubilate; it's clean and fun and has a nice mix of flavors. Love serving myself in biodegradable paper cups but you want to pile on the swirls of creamy deliciousness and toppings such that you will pay $8 for albeit for one good size cup o' desert. A taste will do too and keeps the cost down. It is often empty which is nice for a conversation but I hope they can stay open so we can keep stopping by. This is on Prospect in a small commercial strip , near Saddle River Road.
