9 reviews for Jua Salon
My last haircut was in early July, needless to say my hair was completely fried. My sister had gone to Jua, can't remember the stylist - and suggested it. When I called the owner answered and was super nice. She assured me that all of her stylists were wonderful, she personally made sure. Then she took some info from me and called back (right away) with four suggestions and told me a bit about all of them.
I ended up going to Patrick and he ROCKED! (This was due to other yelp reviews). My hair has been long, almost to the middle of my back for years and years, I had only been cutting off an inch at a time and it was, as I said before, awful. Patrick was really nice and asked what I wanted to do - I asked him what he suggested. He ended up giving me a perfect haircut, just below my shoulders. He also did a wonderful job on color. I'm so happy, it feels for once, so soft and healthy. Plus it will be much easier to maintain. Also - the conditioning treatment is awesome.
Everyone at the salon was nice, Patrick was really good, he did not pressure me into anything, but really helped when I did ask for suggestions. I'm so happy with this salon...
There is a hair style out there called "Denver Hair". I am not from here originally, so this style jumped out at me immediately when I became a resident. Short, longer in the front, very dramatically angled in the back.
I mean no harm to the city or to the ladies rocking the look. It looks really good on some people, but is not a haircut that an entire city should be sporting. It's a little too rocker-chic for everyone to appropriately pull off.
Well...I accidentally got Denver Hair a few months ago, making ponytails impossible for me (which I need in my life); while in the growing out stage, the cut was totally unforgiving. Too choppy, inconsistent levels of thin and thick hair. Yuck. It doesn't work for me.
I went to Jua, because being in Cherry Creek, I did think they would cut my hair more classically. JC gave me what I was looking for. He's an elderly French man and he was pretty honest (but not rude) about the status of my hair style. I had to lose some length, but I am now on the road to recovery. My look is now more polished, but still fun.
Patrick moved to The Look Beauty Boutique. If you go looking for him here, you'll be barking up the wrong tree...
2 stars for the atmosphere at Jua. I don't care what beauty ritual I'm treating myself to, I want to relax. this salon is more like a office water cooler on crack. No zen whatsoever. If you want to try to live up to hype of soccer mom's and trophy wives and get all the gossip, then by all means come to Jua.

Bummer... no more Mari. No more waxing AT ALL. They got rid of the little wax-on, hair-off (say it like Mr. Miyagi-san) spot in the back and turned it into a spray-tanning room? Not so well thought out, in my opinion. The Cherry Creek Cougars are NOT going to pop in for an on-the-fly bronzing while their highlights are... highlighting. Or whatever it is they do when they're all foiled up like that.
However, they MIGHT have popped in for an on-the-fly eyebrow touchup. Alas, no mas.
I'll leave three neutral stars in place because I've never actually had my hairs done here... but if you want to see Mari for some primo hair removal (or facials, or lash extensions, or mani-pedis), she's just around the corner at Personal Touch Salon on 2nd and Steele. Tell her Kym B. sent ya!

Almost everyone I liked at Jua is gone! I called to make an appointment and they kept trying to talk me into people I didn't know. Such a drag...I hope I can find my old stylist.

This is a very cool salon in Cherry Creek with moderate prices and talented stylists.

Finally a hair dresser who listens! Christine McNeil was amazing. She gave me a fantastic cut and some gorgeous highlights. No one has ever done it right and I was beginning to think I'd have to go back to Dallas when I needed my hair done, but not anymore! I have very straight and thick black hair and I know it has to be a challenge to highlight just right. It was absolutely perfect however and I am so grateful to find this place.
The salon is gorgeous and bustling, yet comfortable. It's also very low key, not gossipy and snarky like so many places I have been to. I really had a nice experience and recommend Christine to everyone. She really listens and seems very sweet.
I've been going here for a little over a year now. I go to an awesome stylist named Hind. I also like the fact that they validate for 2 hours of parking in the attached garage. So yeah, I'm usually not a fan of Cherry Creek, but this places keeps me coming back.
Hidden in the back corner of Jua is a great little nail tech named Vicki! She was surprised my sis and I came in just for manis and pedis since they are really known for HAIR. Vicki is awesome. (There was another tech there that did my pedi, but when I saw the sweet treatment my sister got from Vicki, I was getting jealous. And hey, it was my birthday. Where's the love?) Jua is a very bustling Cherry Creek salon, fun for people watching and hearing crazy rich people drama stories. I must live vicariously. Note: Jua will validate your parking for an hour if you park in the garage attached to the salon. However, if you hang out there all day long like I did, one hour ain't much help. But I'll take what I can get.
I had just moved to Denver and was in desperate need of a haircut for my short, stylish 'do that my amazing hairdresser in Chicago had created for me... I was sure that no one could recreate the masterpiece that was my hair style and I was unsure of who to trust for a good, reliable recommendation. Of course I turned to Yelp, and I found great reviews for Jua Salon. I decided to give them a call. I called on Friday evening and they were able to fit me in the very next morning (early, since the rest of the day was completely booked with every single stylist - always a good sign!). Cut to me doing a little dance of joy and walking out of the salon with a huge smile on the face of my perfectly-coifed head. Maral was great - she was so sweet and she just did an amazing job with my hair. The entire staff is really nice, they offer you beverages, and they validate parking in the garage (all day validation on Saturdays!). I highly recommend this salon, and I will most definitely be back for all of my hair needs!
