I've been an avid fan of Joyce's insight for years now and most recently went to her for a synastry (couple's) chart with my partner.
We left feeling enlightened and encouraged and would definitely recommend a visit for any couple striving to know each other better.
I highly suggest Joyce's good humor and depth for all seekers!!

I was incredibly frightened but empowered by Joyce's 90-minute "What's on the Horizon" chart reading. Joyce's friendly demeanor immediately puts one at ease and thus more open to take in the information that she has prepared for you. It's not easy to learn what awaits us and the sorts of choices we will have to make, but she eases you into this plethora of information with tenderness and insight. Highly recommended for anyone who's contemplating their next move in life.
Joyce is a top-notch tour guide for your own inner and outer journey.She's quick to zoom in on possibilities you've never dreamed of. And I wouldn't dream of starting my solar year without conferring with her first! Joyce has opened doors for me, and frequently encouraged me to go for "what's behind the curtain",too! Joyce is one of the savviest and most compassionate astrologers around. If you are looking for wisdom in depth and humor in buckets full, call Joyce.

Joyce makes you feel comfortable and right at home. She shared with me a lot of different things but for the most part what it did for me was validate what I already know. Her sharing of significant dates was great and the fact that she tapes it is also good. She had a lot of insight and what she shared resonated with me deeply. 1 hour was not enough - I recommend if you can afford it to do a 90 min reading.
Ms. Van Horn is a wonderfully gifted and charming astrologer. She has a wide vision, her insights are clear, enlightening and enlivening. Joyce is always able to bring a new viewpoint and perspective to any issue I'm dealing with. And she does it with flair, humor, and above all, respect. In the end I walk away with a sense of possibility for the future and a feeling for my own power and my place in the cosmos. There is so much information to be digested that it is invaluable to be able to revisit the session on tape at a later date. Highly recommended!
Unlike other astrologers I've seen, Joyce gave clear and useful information in a language I could understand, making my sessioins with her more meaningful, on both a spiritual and a practical level. She gave me information I could use to navigate my life and see the bigger picture; she helped me to grow, to see and understand the forces influencing my life. I left with the feeling that I knew myself better, with feelings of clarity and courage, and a deep sense of excitement.
It is scary how good she is.
I was a skeptic when I first meet her. I read and thought I know about all the tricks that you get when you go to these people at the fair or storefront, but my friend told me that I have to go see her.
Our fist meeting was about two years ago. When I first met her, I sat said and keep telling myself not to say anything and don't give her a hint of what I am thinking. She told me everything about me. She is amazing. She told me everything that I know about myself and much more. She also told me when I will be meeting my soul mate. And she was right, and I am getting marry this December. Don't walk, but run to go see here.

I offer clients a safe, quiet space in a great old Victorian. I've been in business as an astrologer since 1984, and have had a full-time practice since 1989. My clients, some of whom I've been seeing since 1984, are great teachers--they reflect what the planets tell me, so I get it righter and righter with each reading (and stay humble!).
I also simply love people and feel terrific about giving them the information that they need to make empowered choices. Because I've been trained in Hakomi (body-oriented psychology based on the Zen principles of non-violence), I'm so okay with strong emotions. Whether it's laughter or tears, it's all welcome here. Preparation and thoroughness was what impressed me about Joyce the most. When I walked into her office, her charts and research were evident. Being that this was my very first astrology reading, I did not know what to expect. However, I found it very interesting that Joyce was extremely intuitive about who I am and gave me much to consider about what will be occurring in my life over the next few years. I would highly recommend Joyce and her service.
This was my first astrological reading, and quite frankly, I didn't know what to expect. What Joyce came up with was stunning. Considering all the things that Joyce COULD have told me, virtually EVERYTHING she said hit the mark. (How does she do that???)
I've been spending the last few years reinvinting myself in an attempt to get who I "am" and what I do in life in line with the real me. I wasn't very good at that when I was younger, but I think I'm doing better now. However, I have those moments of uncertainty when I'm not always sure I'm moving in the right direction.
After my reading with Joyce, I have a better sense that I'm truly on the right path. There is something very reassuring when your subtler aspects -- your dreams, visions, ambitions -- are independently validated by someone who doesn't really know you. (Joyce and I have met only several times previously.)
I think the biggest service Joyce rendered was to "prove" to me that the areas in which I feel most grounded and purposeful are not just my imagination talking to me. It is actually the real me speaking.
I walked out of my hour session with Joyce feeling very reassured and anxious to keep pushing ahead. I have a clear sense of what my agenda is for the foreseeable future. And all that happened in just one hour. Amazing.
a friend bought me a "natal birth chart reading" with the lovely joyce van horn as a birthday gift and i finally went in to see joyce last week. she has an amazing energy--i found her mere presence to be deeply calming. my birth chart reading brought up a lot of fascinating issues that i had never considered (it was the first time i had ever seen an astrologer), such as what role my past lives play in my current life. i don't have much to compare her with, but i really can't imagine any astrologer more amazing than joyce!
Wow, I just had my first reading with Joyce, and what an amazing experience! The relevance of Joyce's insight is undeniable, and comes at a time in my life when I absolutely need it most! There is safety and comfort in the space Joyce creates, and I really had a great time. So much great information was conveyed, and I'm thankful to have a recording of my session as I'm sure I'll be referencing it often. I'm in a stage where virtually every aspect of my life is in major transition, and Joyce's wisdom has already provided me with much needed clarity and balance.
Astrology generally had kind of a pre-ordained feel for me (i.e., you were born with these stars, so you're this way).
Joyce Van Horn totally shook that up. She's been doing astrology for over 20 years and she senses deep levels of your personality from your chart. But most of the session is reframing your life's potential with those insights. Makes you think of ideas, work, and people, you probably haven't considered. It was dynamic, accurate, and I felt like Joyce and the stars were rooting for me. I will be back for counsel on picking my wedding date.
I really enjoyed my reading by Joyce. What really impressed me is how exact she is with the dates of the cycles I'm in. She was very validating of what I was going through and was very clear about what I'm here in this lifetime to work on.
I was told by another astrologer that I don't enter into my saturn returns until my next birthday, but Joyce was exact to tell me that I had started it early this month. Which is probably why I felt really lost and needed a reading!

I was blown away by Joyce's preparation and thoroughness. It seemed as though she spent hours before I'd even met her for the first session because based on a few preliminary questions she had loads of information about my life and me. She also gives you a recording of your session so that you can listen to over and over, which is super helpful because she gives you so much information it's difficult to absorb it all. Until I had a reading with Joyce Van Horn, I was an astrology 'virgin'. I went to see her because I felt like I had nowhere to run with the recent twists and turns in my life. I have always felt that the stars, planets, and moon had something to say to me. I just couldn't 'hear' them until Joyce taught me how to listen.
Joyce was articulate, gentle, soothing, and made an impact on the way I think. I am so glad that she was my first (Astrologer that is...). To experience a 'mindgasm', you must see Joyce!
I went to see Joyce on my birthday. I had been wanting to have my astrological birth chart read since someone commented recently that I was entering my first Saturn Return.
Joyce was amazingly thorough and prepared. When I initially set up the appointment, I didn't know the exact time of my birth. She called me a couple of days before my appointment to make suer she had it. She explained to me that she didn't just wing it because a difference in the time of birth can really make a difference in the way the chart reads. She needed to be as precise as possible. It felt great to have someone prepare so much to tell me about so many details of my life.
Now to the cool stuff--I, too was somewhat of a skeptic. I am definitely a believer in people being able to do things like Joyce does, I just wasn't sure if she was going to be a hack. I intentionally didn't share a lot of details about myself, but Joyce had me all mapped out to a T! She was also incredibly caring and compassionate in discussing the issues that were a little difficult for me to hear.
Joyce was intuitive to the point that she read a lot of my body language and could tell when I needed a break from all the heavy information I was receiving. Instead of rushing through the session and churning me out like they do in the doctor's office, Joyce offered me a break, let me walk out in her beautiful garden and meet her awesome cat (Curious)--people with allergies or dislike of cats, don't worry, the cat stays out of her office, I only met him because I went out into the garden.
At the end of our session, Joyce offered to follow up with some of the other services she provides. I didn't feel in any way like she was just selling herself or services to me. I felt like this wasn't something she says to all her clients, but something she was offering me because she really thinks she has something to offer to ME because of the way we connected and the issues that are particular to me. In some ways, I felt like I was seeing a therapist, not someone who was like a fortune teller.
One thing I want to tell people about Joyce's style of astrology--she's not going to tell you you're "destined" for anything. She's going to tell you what the stars and planets have laid out as your truly authentic you, but it's still up to you to realize that. I felt empowered by my session with Joyce and recommend her to anyone seeking more insight into their life.
There are astrology readings and there are astrology readings. And then there is Joyce. Joyce interpreted my chart with sensitive accuracy, re-framed my 'challenge areas' with such kindness that I felt immediately confident that I could make changes where necessary. So hopeful!
Joyce gave me much more information about me, my life path and possibilities than which planet was where, or this trine, that square and so forth. I left feeling validated and strong, and about 20 pounds lighter.

I'm so glad I met Joyce! My first reading with her was almost 2 years ago, and although it was only a brief consultation, she honed in on numerous areas of my life that were in transition, and illuminated the path that was appropriate for me. She also told me then that I would experience some significant changes to happen in about a year and a half. Her prediction was right on; earlier this summer, I lost my job and jettisoned an old but ultimately destructive friendship. When the transition actually happened, it was still an upheaval, but it was much easier to handle with the insight I had gained from Joyce's guidance. She is supportive and intuitive, getting right to the heart of the matter, but with heart, and helping me to remember my heart always. I would recommend her to anyone trying to become more aware of what an amazing, complex part of the cosmos they are, and how the heavens move in all of us. Namaste!
