This is from Restaurant Week last month.
Food/Drink: I started with an espresso martini. It was the normal milky brown color with a roasted bean. At $11 it was average for the price. The a la carte menu is pretty limited, but the restaurant week menu had a decent selection. To start I had seared scallops topped with crispy proscioutto, delicious! Crispy proscioutto is one of my favorite garnishes now. The entree was a huge portion of barolo braised short rib that was juicy, tender, and flavorful but very fatty. I probably trimmed a quater of it. If you're having that though, you probably don't care about calories anyway! I finished with a luscious white chocolate pudding topped with a tart orange sorbet. I could've had the pudding without the sorbet since I found that overpowering, but I understand the pairing since the white chocolate is very rich and the sorbet helps lighten it.
Restaurant/Service: The hostess was a little snotty to my friend when we first arrived. I guess she didn't think much of a trio of young girls when the rest of their clientele is mostly old stuffy Upper East Siders. Our waiter and his assistant were very nice and helpful though. They are well staffed and each table has two attendants, so it really feels like you're waited on hand and foot. The restaurant is in a cute townhouse, and the main dining room is on the second floor. The decor isn't particularly distinctive or striking, but it's tasteful and warm. It's a good non-trendy date place or somewhere to take wealthy relatives footing the bill.

"After reading rave reviews for this newly opened restaurant I decided to make reservations at this new gem in a simple brown stone. When you first walk in, an oak wood bar, and red leather chairs give an inviting feeling. The kitchen is tucked into the back, where you can see the chefs working away. There are stairs that lead up to the main dining room which grace Carmel colored walls, and beautiful light fixtures. The waiters are sweet as can be, as they hand you the menus. The cuisine is traditional American, with an Italian twist. The appetizers are very simple, but the entrees are award winning. I had the steak with brown butter mashed potatoes. It was absolutely delicious. There are plenty of pasta selections that were very inventive. When choosing bottles of wine the sommelier picked two palate pleasing red and white wines. The chocolate souffl and the cookie plate were out of this world. This was truly an amazing dining experience and I cannot wait to go back again!"
This has to be one of the best restaurants in the City. The food is great and creative. The desserts are amazing. Like Zoe, they have one of the best wine lists around. The help knew the menu and the wine list and made terrific suggestions.
It's no wonder that having only been open since late October, it made the top 100 best restaurant list in NYC by November. This place is the bomb. The food is amazing and the greatest service I think I ever had in the city. It didn't have the coolest crowd, but yelpers can fix that hopefully!
