Though I haven't been here in a couple of years since my favorite stylist, Ayumi, defected to Sager French, I could never say a bad word about the salon that did my wig for more than a decade.
Granted, the Bravo show was ridiculous (and made Jonathan look like some dick, which he is not), this salon is no nonsense and everyone there gets what it means to really do hair - otherwise, they get shown the door.
The space is simple, sleek and clean, and has a NY loft vibe. Particularly if you're a woman with long hair you covet, this is a place you can go and know they won't go wrong. Over the years, I went to about a half dozen different stylists here, including the man himself, and every one of them understood how to make sure you walked out of there with effortlessly sexy hair. It's just what they do.
This is another place that doesn't come cheap ($100+ for cut alone), especially if you want to book one of the more senior stylists ($300-$400), but if you ask me, it's worth every penny.
P.S. I've never stepped into the newer BH location and from what I've seen, can't say that I would, but WeHo rocks.
I have been coming here to see Olivier for hair cuts off and on for 10 years. It would have been more "on" than "off" but I live in Newport Beach and sometimes our schedules just don't gel.
Anyways, Olivier is a master at his craft. Precision cutting and the bomb blow outs. Cuts run about $150. I have long hair and he makes it super sexy. My friend has shorter hair and it always loos perfect. Both of us come out with hair that shines like glass because of his blow dry skills. He is French with a heavy accent so be prepared to ask him to repeat himself, a lot!
The salon is well run and lit with perfect daylight. And yes, most days you will see Jonathan himself running around. Sexy!
Home of the best colorist in the world -- Emily! (I really mean that! My friends make fun of me because, although I no longer live in LA, I still fly out here to get my hair colored.)
I rarely trust just anyone with my hair cut and/or color, but I can honestly say I have never seen anyone walk out of here looking bad. I've been to a few people here for blow-outs and every time I have looked amazing!
Tanya has been doing my hair for years. She recently took my color from dark brown to a very natural highlighted blond. Very much like Jennifer Annistons hair color and she didn't use any bleach which kept my hair healthy and strong. Tanya's the best :-D
I had the best experience at this salon. The woman who cut my hair took the time to figure out how to correct many years of terrible haircuts. Instead of simply chopping away, she blew my hair straight and with great patience and precision made my hair sleek and silky smooth. I would definitely go back to this salon. Thanks Audrey.
