This place isn't amazing, but its a good place for an overnight stay.
You can tell it has been renovated recently to make it look nicer.
The room was pretty big.
The bed was comfortable. The TV. didn't suck.
Every thing seemed clean and well maintained. It was also within walking distance to the beach.
The goofy waterfall in the front was pretty funny.
Nothing wrong with this place. Great for a quick stay.

do not stay here. i stayed and came out completely covered in bed bug bites. it's been a week and they have not subsided. even worse, i have transferred them to my home and now on top of going to the doctor, i have been washing everything in the hopes of not having to throw away my bed and furniture. worst experience i have ever had.
Whatever you do, don't stay here.
Some friends in the area told us this place had been recently renovated. We were expecting at the very least, it would be pretty clean. We were horribly mistaken! We basically walked in, and walked out.
The toilet barely flushed, and the the room was filthy!
After driving five hours, we had to search for another room.
Don't make the same mistake we did!

When the Cadillac Hotel on Venice Beach is full and spilling over, they will likely send you here. The Jolly Roger is nothing fancy, like the Cadillac, and it trades an ocean view for a view of busy & noisy Washington Blvd.. Don't worry, the price is right to compensate. My favorite thing about the Jolly Roger is the waterfall in the parking lot, through which the name of the hotel is visible (see photo).
