Wow, it's been so long the last time i been here.  I used to come here back in the kickin' it days when guys come roll u up in their hondas and imports! Haha, this place is very well lit, nice and bright.. good space and yummy burgers too!  I dont know how it is nowadays, unlike them other ghetto pool halls, this was the only place peace can be held...

Everything tastes better when you're scared.

Do you travel to foreign countries and never leave the resort? Do you get pissed when some dude wearing a full-length black leather trench coat with a 14"  Raiders logo on the back thinks he's dressed up?...If so, then you should probably stop reading my review...but before you leave can you give me a Funny vote?

I have always liked living on the edge; as a teen I would return Steven Segal movies (VHS) and completely disregard the "Be Kind, Rewind" sticker; so when my amigo invited me to go to Jointed Cue Billiards I went along because that's how I roll.

The "science" of racial profiling is good because any technique which exploits our natural tendencies toward racism and fear is always helpful...when I walked into the pool hall my instincts told me to put on my Steven Segal face. I wanted everyone to think that I can break arms at will.

As soon as I got there I ordered a hamburger, fries and a cold beer...Sierra Nevada India Pale Ale (IPA) - they have the standard blue-collar favorites Bud, Bud Light and Miller - I think the IPA almost blew my cover. The hamburger was nothing special but everything tastes better when you're scared.

For one hamburger, two micro brews and three games it was just under 20 bucks...not bad, in most restaurants the beer alone would be 5 to 6 bones each. Nothing sucks as much as a mushy apple or a billiard table that's unlevel. This table was nice and even and the cues were straight. Those two things alone are the mark of a good parlor. I saw a very mixed crowd and lot's of smiles...some were short on teeth.

The service was friendly and prompt. The signage was hand painted; old school hot-rod style. I was told the owner's dad does it. There are old pictures of legendary players on the walls and counting beads on wires over the tables...

All these things added up to a great time. I'd go back again but will leave my trench home.

"You know, I got a hunch, fat man. I got a hunch it's me from here on in. One ball, corner pocket. I mean, that ever happen to you? You know, all of a sudden you feel like you can't miss? 'Cause I dreamed about this game, fat man. I dreamed about this game every night on the road. Five ball. You know, this is my table, man. I own it."

From the movie "The hustler" 1961

Tons of reg sized pool tables and a very good, but bad for you, menu of very cheap grilled eats.  They also have 2 or 3 billiard tables set up for Three-cushion billiards, which has no pockets, 3 balls, and the object is to strike one red ball with the white Que ball and bank it three times and contact the red other ball. (very hard)

They also have that cool crushed Ice, you know that soft kind thats fun to eat. It makes every bite full a soda slushy.

They have beer in the bottle but it not really a place to get drunk.

Among all this, a must see is the tournament room filled with spectator benches in the back room that is awesome and the walls are filled with authentic antiquated pool pictures and information throughout the entire place.

Now its just filled with random multi ethnic people enjoying themselves and is very safe.

The staff have always been very friendly.

Yay!  I spent Mother's Day playing pool with the kiddies and husb.  A very enjoyable afternoon.  Lots of tables and cues that are actually decent, not all crooked like at the bars.  Not too expensive, and the service was super-friendly.  We meant to eat here, but weren't able to today.  Looking forward to a counter full of cheap greasy spoon lovin' soon.  But maybe after pool, so that I'm not in food coma.

We used to skip school and play pool here.  Little rich kids trying to look hard . . . still, a great place to play.  I have not been there in about 10 years, but would give it another try in a heartbeat!
