There really is something about strolling knee-deep through the warm rolling surf of the Gulf Coast. The John's Pass area may be covered in high rise condo-hotels, but the public beaches are stunningly lovely with their white shell sand and gentle curves. I happily spent an afternoon getting sun-stunned and sandy on this beautiful stretch of paradise. And the city of Madeira Beach has set up some clean, sturdy restroom facilities at one end, along with abundant (but not free) parking and - best of all - a foot-washing station for those overly sandy toes. Aahhhhhhhh....
