Booked an appointment for my boyfriend, and it was great! His sciatic nerve still needs more treatment but overall his 1st session went very well. He loved how relaxing it was too! Thank You!

No clue why my review of Dr. Barber reflects 4 stars instead of 5 stars. I am just now seeing it due to a vote! Unfortunately I cannot simply update my review, so I am writing another one just to reflect accuracy!

I noticed he uses a little more needles compared to the prior docs I have gone to. I also love the fact that he seems like he genuinely cares. The first visit I had he asked what all my problems were and he asked more in-depth questions to get down to the bottom of it. He also provides some good recommendations on exercises and stretches for certain areas of the body if you need to work on something in particular.
I always leave his office feeling like I could nap for hours on end. But unfortunately I usually have to go back to work! :/ If you're looking for a good acupuncturist, check him out! Good rates as well (especially compared to other docs in the area). - K S.Los Angeles, CA17814Oct 28, 2020
Dr Barber doesn't have many recent reviews, which matter to me, so I'm jumping in after just one session to give first impressions.
He was very responsive to my call, we had a nice chat and he followed up to book right away. I was able to get in within a day or two which I appreciated, and is a Kaiser provider which is how I found him.
Parking is easy and there's one flight of stairs up.
His office spaces are clean and medical with waiting room hand sanitizer, water and tea. He wore a mask in this time of COVID as did I. I filled out a lot of paperwork - probably 40 minutes' worth - had a consultation at his desk and then conducted a 20 minute session with needles.
Ladies, please note** I am extremely alert to any inappropriate vibes by men in one-on-one situations where I'm wearing a gown, and I am happy to report he made me feel very comfortable and kept the vibe pleasant, calm, and ultra-professional. He treated my chief concerns, and I definitely felt the activation from the needles and felt some relief from the pain.
I'll report back when our series of treatments is complete.Helpful 5Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Reuben F.Los Angeles, CA01Oct 15, 2021

Good doctor, very professional too. He also takes insurance. He talks to you and tries to help you with the root of your problem. Awesome doctor!

My knee started hurting three months ago, to the point that it was difficult to walk. My medical doctor sent me in for X-rays, an MRI and a surgical consult. Before going for surgery, I decided to try a more conservative treatment. My health insurance covered acupuncture and I found Dr. John Barber in my network. Surprisingly, when I called his office, he answered the phone himself. He assured me that using acupuncture was a good idea. His confidence in the outcome of the sessions was inspiring so I decided to give him a try. During the first visit he asked about my problem and followed up with more in-depth questioning. I could tell he was very caring and professional. Although he has a calm personality, his enthusiasm about his field comes though. I love the easy location, parking, and set up of the office and patient area. I also learned that he teaches classes at
Yo San University so that told me a lot about his abilities.
If you are nervous about being treated with needles, Dr. Barber is the man to see. All you will feel is great results. I am pain free!Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0
