Review from Charlie W.
Seattle, WA
John Browne--for the many lawyers and other professionals who know him personally--is truly a great lawyer.
Frankly, he is not someone who suffers fools gladly, nor is he one to yield to the popular pressures or impulses of the moment. He is a principled person who follows his own lights, even if that necessitates his being subjected to public criticism or ridicule.
In the long run, AVVO is just another profit-making website. John, on the other hand, is a person who will continue to be appreciated and admired by the many persons he has served until long after he is gone.
Honestly, if we had more champions like him, the quality of justice in our community would be vastly improved. -
Review from Gil S.
John Henry Browne, criminal defense.
The man who sued the ratings site http://avvo.com over his "average" rating. Said the ranking system was unfair, could be gamed. Hurt his business. Wasn't transparent.
In the interest of transparency --
* Convenient location in downtown Seattle: +1 star
* Cool name. All litigators have to have a strange but cool name. +1 star
* Website with stock-looking photo of Greek columns -1 star
* Website overall - minus another star
* Sues consumer information site (reportedly) because his record of bar discipline for overcharging a client lowered his score -3 stars
* Made important contribution to field of forensics and got convicted murder defendant off in process +1 star
* Knows how to get publicity +1 star
* Maybe he wants to look pissy, bankwards, and clueless. This can resonate with a jury. +1 star
I can't add so.... 3 stars! Average.
Sue this, Mr. Browne
