Oye! Being here took me back to days of backpacking and feeling like a starving idiot, rummaging through vending machines, sitting and waiting for a train when I should have known the schedules at Paddington Station. Paddington Station and their pastie booths. Many a nights I have fantasized about having a nice warm pastie but did not know where to pick one up.

Look no further, this bakery has lots to choose from. Raisin scones, Irish bread, Plum Pudding, Mince Puffs(*squeals with delight*), Pasties, Mixed tartlets the list goes on and on.

Squeeze yourself inside, grab a bag and pick up some scones or puffs and if you're like me, ask for a warmed veggie pastie. There are a few tinned items like mashed peas, beans and custard powder. If you're looking for Marmite and not Vegemite this is your place. A medium size jar is $6. Mmmm, this place could easily be a new weekly breakfast spot.

Breakfast in bread.
$2.50
about 5"x5" and 2 inches thick.
I thought it's a breakfast sandwich with the Irish sausage in it.
No. No. No!
It is Irish sausage, black and white pudding, egg and cheese BAKED INTO BREAD!!!!!

WHATTHEFXXX????

That's my GF's comment when I told her about it.
She is Irish.

It's FXXXin' AWESOME bread.

Everything here are great.
I love the hard core sandwiches that you need to have physical work out side.
If you have a job sitting your fat ass all day like I do, and eating the hard core sandwiches, you'll have to check your cholesterol level ASAP.

But, the curry chicken pastie is a die for!

Bloody brilliant.
Veggie & Chicken pasties (curry) are both excellent, as is the shepherd's pie.
Soda bread's quite good, guinness bread is tasty.   Warm it up and walk it next door to Blarney Stone and have a pint.
Don't forget the HP sauce.

I am in love with the baked goods at this place.  These have got to be the best scones that I've ever tasted in my life.

I purchased: Irish Bailey's Cream Scone. Two Shortbread Cookies, and Mince Puffs.

The Mince Puffs were amazing!  They were flakey and flavorful.  Mmm...

The Shortbread Cookies tasted like pre-crystal sugars.  I wouldn't get these again.

I will definitely be back to try the rest of backed goods here!  I am curious about their Bacon, Brie, and Mushroom Bread!  I had a small sample and it seems to be good!

The snowballs are what Darwin would claim, "the aspect of you that makes you unable to be a survivor of the fittest" because it makes me blind of all dangerous obstacles around me.  They have me hypnotised: "I have to eat the snowball scone, I have to eat it, yum! yum! yum!"

Coming to John Campbell's is clearly a form of psychiatric therapy for me.

Irish Style Scones are just down right ummalicious.

I gave their scones a try and I couldn't finish one. What's with all the baking soda??? Didn't care for the potato bread either or their breakfast breads. Everything is too expensive here.
On the plus side I liked the shepherd's pie and the regular white bread. A+ in the service department too.

We were out to lunch on a sunny Tuesday afternoon and a friend convinced me to check out an amazing Irish bakery down the street.  I've lived in Ireland and England and was looking for some buttery deliciousness.  Cute little place with all the things I know and love.  I got some cookies and a few tarts.  I tried to get some of the bakewell tarts, as the almond raspberry tarts are called across the pond, and she snapped that she didn't know what I was talking about...fair enough.  I would've been okay with that if she had a little bit of customer service in her attitude but I think she left it at home that day. She threw everything into a bag and when I got home, my tarts were squished together...a $10.00 ball of mushy appley pastry. Not a good experience, maybe if I am in the neighborhood I will be back to give it another try.

Today (8/26) would have been my best friend Erin's 39th birthday (for the second or third year), had she not passed away a few years ago. Needless to say, she's been on my mind all day. But as usual, I managed to pretend that she's off having adventures in NYC or LA, as she was wont to do--and we simply hadn't had time to catch up in a while. ;)

But when I was in the Richmond this foggy evening to appease my hunger for dim sum and roast duck, I got a bit of a wake up call. I didn't think anything could stop me from my mission--but John Campbell's Irish Bakery did. Stopped me dead in my tracks, it did.

The green storefront with a window display full of baked goods suddenly brought back memories of the time Erin and I took a 17-hour ferry ride from France to Ireland just for the hell of it. It was the first time she'd visited the country of her ancestors, and though our stay was brief, we met some colorful characters and had an amazingly fun time, as we always did.

When I stepped inside the bakery, I encountered another display of baked goods, both savory and sweet. There were several types of pasties and shepherd's pie, along with sweets like cream-filled scones and various fruit tarts. I selected the beef pastie and a rhubarb tart to go. The pastie--which was ground beef in a flavorful gravy with carrots and peas encased in a flaky half-moon crust--was perfect for the cool evening. And the rhubarb tart, with a buttery sugared crust in the shape of a shamrock, was a wonderful balance of tart and sweet.

If I'd had time, I would have loved to have stopped next door at The Blarney Stone to raise a pint of Guinness to Erin. But I think there will be other opportunities for that whenever I'm in the Richmond. :)

Erin go bragh!

What's not to love about John Campbell's Irish Bakery? They have the most delicious treats.  Be sure to try the rhubarb, apple, custard, etc. tarts, they are small enough to not feel guilty if you try two (who am I kidding - three!) The snowballs are amazing and be sure to try the flaky apple dessert.  I forget what it's called, but it is amazing.

For lunch or dinner try the Shepards Pie (mashed potatoes, beef and peas) which is fantatstic or any of their sandwiches

For those of you that enjoy authentic Irish food, like Irish bacon (oh my god, you have NOT lived until you try it) or Irish pudding - either black or regular), they carry a varity of meats, butter and treats

One last point.  The staff is always helpful, friendly and very sweet.  This has quickly become my favorite place for breakfast, lunch or dinner.  Just one drawback - they only take cash, so make sure you come prepared. :).

Irish people can cook the most unhealthy food in the world but they cook right.

Snowballs: Delicious cake sandwich with jam in the middle covered in dark chocolate and rolled in coconut.

Scones: WOW! They do great scones here!

Shortbread cookies: Get the chocolate covered ones with coconut on top. Unbelievably good.

Shepherd's Pie: Irish prison food but cooked very well. It's not too spicy so I had to use some hot sauce but I'd get it again.

Service: Excellent. Gorgeous babe working the register!

The baked goods here are absolutely amazing! I've tried a few different kinds of breads and pastries and each one has been so good. I applaud the bakers working behind the scenes so we can all have delectable delights. The soda breads remind me of the breads my mom made as my siblings and I were growing up. Pretty close to the authentic thing.

The people who work the front have always been very helpful and nice. I only took one star away because it's a bit expensive.

This place has been around for a long time and I've walked by quite a bit just to stare into the window to look at their good looking pastries. Finally my intrigue for fresh baked goods got the best of me as I was lured into this bakery hoping to grab some carbs. The store is cute and decked out with sweet and savory treats of all kinds. There was a gamut of scones, open face sandwiches, tarts, and other delicious looking breads but I was already wedded to the fruity and chocolaty options that were sitting pretty by the window.

I thought my apple puff had a nice smooth flaky texture on the outer-layer, but the powdery sugar was not enough to inspire a lackluster taste in the chopped apple spread. My fruit bun was much more dense and hearty than expected with a nice sprinkles of cherries, walnuts and raisins, and the texture resembles much more like a scone than a sweet bread.

My chocolate snowball was sinfully coated with a layer of coconut on top of thick dark chocolate with cake-like filling embedded with raspberry jam. It was one of the items where the taste was robust and distinguishable. My huge foccacia bread tasted similar to the ones at Giovanni's Cafe, and the thick doughy texture was pretty good to go with a thin spread of olive oil and chopped herbs and spices.

Overall I thought the food was decent with a few uninspiring spots. My order costs $6.50 which I thought could be lesser since the use of ingredients were pretty straight forward. This is a good place for those interested in baked goods that emphasize on heartiness than sweets. Service was very friendly and welcoming. 3 stars for the overall experience.

A delicious little bakery full of a variety of sweet and savory goodies!  They have scones, focaccia, Irish soda bread, potato bread, brown bread, little tarts, meat and veggie pasties, and different kinds of sandwiches.  I bought a yummy chicken and veggie pasty, basically a meat pie/ Irish version of a calzone, with a buttery, flaky crust.  The pasty was quite large and was only $5.  They did not skimp on the filling which had peas, potatoes, carrots, and big, tender chunks of chicken.  I would definitely go back and try some of the other pasty flavors.

My husband got the corned beef and cabbage sandwich (a good-sized sandwich for $6) which he enjoyed but wished it was a bit warmer (they heat up any of the sandwiches and pasties upon request).  Although he thought the sandwich needed more corned beef and less cabbage, he really liked the bread which was thick, crusty, and dense.

We also shared a couple of scones, chocolate chip and Bailey's Irish cream  ($1.50 per scone or $6 for half dozen).  Their scones are different from other scones I've tried: they are more bready, they don't have a crunchy, sugary top, and they are not as dry.  But they were still tasty and a nice change from what you're used to.  The chocolate chip scone was definitely not lacking in chips, and the Irish cream flavor really shone through in the Bailey's scone, yet was not over powering.  I am really glad that I've found a bakery to satisfy both my sweet and savory cravings.

Is fearr go mall na go brach = "Better late than never" in Gaelic.
Because I've been meaning to write this review for a long time, but I kept forgetting until now.

This small retail store sells some really fantastic Irish breads (don't know where the actual bakery is located). I love their blueberry scones, and the soda bread. I think one time I bought some muffins here too, but I'm not sure, too long ago. Their bap (term for bread roll) sandwiches ($6) are the size of a melon (more or less)!!

The foccacia bread ($1.50) is a very good substitute to Liguria Bakery 's version. Although it doesn't come in different flavors. It's also served like an open face sandwich, so far I've tried the bacon and cheese ($5). The traditional pasties ($5) and shepherd's pie ($7) are available in chicken curry or beef. The beef versions are LOADED with a very generous amount of ground beef, and the chicken curry has a nice balance of really tender white chicken meat and vegetables. If I had to choose, I'll say I prefer the chicken curry because of the flavor balance of meat and veggies.

TIP: If you buy one of their sandwiches (or other savory items), ask to have it reheated. It just takes a couple of minutes but it's worth it. Their convection oven will "magically" heat the sandwich while still packaged in parchment paper. The results are amazing. The food comes out HOT and moist evenly, as if recently baked. I don't believe that you can replicate this at home in an oven (you'll either burn the bread or dry out the filling). They also have a microwave to reheat food items like soup (I think I had a pumpkin soup once, it was good).

I wish we had more shops like this one. Really good hearty food to fill your tummy. Friendly and efficient service. Prices are under $10, but I'd say prices are moderate, not exactly cheap. Finding parking around this area on weekdays is relatively easy. Brunch is available on weekends 11am-3pm.

Pics of some of the food items I've bought over time:

Belfast bap - a hearty breakfast sandwich available all day
http://static.px.yelp....

Tarts - 2 with custard & 1 double chocolate (strangely the inside filling was not chocolate, but a type of pastry filling - still good)

Not sure what took me so long to find this bakery.  John Campbell serves up a variety of baked goods both savory and sweet, as well as a mix of imported beverages from Ireland.  Don't miss out on the cream filled Scones.  If you're wondering the scones AREN'T the dry crumbly type that you choke on.

We loved this spot.

We tried a raspberry tart, the potato bread, and the blueberry scones. All was so good!

I've never had scones so light and fluffy. It's how I imagined them to always be when made properly. I didn't grow up with my mother cooking a lot, but also being from California I doubt she would have cooked scones.

The prices are fantastic and the food is wonderful. I can't wait to go back to try more!

I love this place!  Whenever I walk by, I lose my calorie-counting self-control and wander inside, ooh'ing and ahh'ing over the various Irish baked goods.  The people are patient and nice here as I take my sweet time deciding.

I love the scones because they're unlike scones you get at normal coffee shops.  They are light and fluffy and melt in your mouth.  They don't fall apart into a crumbly mess (like normal scones).  I would almost compare them to biscuit - a much lighter version of one.

I've had their mince tart, their almond chocolate tart, Shepherd's pie (SO MUCH YUM!), chicken curry pastie, and Belfast Bap.  All very, very good!  And decent prices, too!

Definitely get the sandwiches heated up.  And go for a 4 mile run afterward.

Died and gone to heaven.  The first time I walked into John Campbell's, I spent 30 minutes just looking at all of the fresh, wonderful food.  I then went to the ATM machine.  Twice.  Love this place.  I go often and get loaded up for myself and my family up north.  This is the first place I have found where the ingredients are true to form and really fresh.  Thank you for opening up!

This place is incredible. The Belfast Bap is a revelation that must be experienced. The scones are a great price and delicious. I haven't had pasties this good outside the UK. Oh, and the coffee is amazing. Did I mention that you can use the patio at the attached pub to eat your food outside on a rare sunny day in the Richmond?

I go here whenever I can, which is often.

Any place that has lots of samples is good in my book! This bakery is really small (and immaculate!) but has a lot to choose from. I can't speak to the authenticity of it's Irishness, but I did see quite a few imported items.

The scones were light and fluffy unlike the little bricks I'm used to getting elsewhere & the fruit bun was good too. The little pecan tart was so tasty. It looked like pecan pie but had a totally different flavor. More savory than sweet. I sampled some cookies and they were delicious too. Overall, the flavors did not seem to be on the "too sweet" side like most baked goods.

The prices were pretty reasonable. Most items are about $1-$1.50 each. Whatever I spent was worth it!

The woman that was working was super friendly, I think she is the owner. Had she been grinding meat, I would have thought I was in a scene from So I Married an Axe Murderer :)

John Campbell's is a hidden treasure in the Outer Richmond area. The first thing that caught my eye when I entered was a little fridge full of Lilt, one of my favorite soft driks from the UK. Took me a while to decide what I wanted, as everything on display looked tantalizing. Made my mind up for a pork pie and plain bap. Both were delicious and uber filling. Even got a little brown sauce to go. There were quite a few free samples to choose from while I waited for the pork pie to be heated upl.
Only minuses for this place are the prices, which are quite high and the limited selection of items (for example there is only one flavor of crisps - it's cheese & onion but nevertheless) but given the size of the bakery these are to be expected. Had the preconceived notion that it would be full of Irish but instead ran into friendly Americans working there.

I didn't think it was possible to love this place even more than my first visit in March for the beloved St. Paddy's Day. My gals and I celebrated Cinco de Mayo next door at Blarney Stone (read here as to why we chose the Blarney over a Mexican restaurant http://www.yelp.com/bi...) and feeling buzzed and ready to nosh, we stopped in John Campbell's Irish Bakery for some tasty Irish treats! We were the only customers at the time, and thank goodness, since we took forever to decide what to get. Thankfully, the staffers were patient and entertained a friend who popped in with a sombrero (obviously celebrating Cinco de Mayo the proper way). We wanted to get every single baked treat, but opted for and quite literally inhaled the following:

- Chicken and veggie pastie: So tasty and served warm! I loved the flakiness of the pastie and wasn't soggy at all. The filling consisted of hearty pieces of chicken with peas, potatoes, carrots. It wasn't dry and incredibly savory!

- Apple Tart: I love that their tarts are mini, so saves on the caloric intake. Anywho, I had to get something sweet to go along with my savory pastie. This was amazing, and you have a choice between a regular or crumb apple tart. The crumb one is sweeter, and loved how rich and appley the filling was. A lovely sweet treat!

- Chicken Curry Pastie: Dalane ordered this and loved it, and concluded that it was like my pastie but with a curry sauce, which had a nice kick!

- Fruit Scone: Dalane and I shared this, as she isn't much of a sweet tooth (or so she says)! This had a wonderful glazed layer on top of the scone, which was not dry and had ample amounts of fruit and nuts! Yum!

- Turkey Sandwich: Amy ordered this, and was so huge that she only ate half and saved the other for lunch. She absolutely loved the sammie, too!

Upon my return to JCIB, next on my list to try is the Belfast Bap and chocolate cherry bread. I have to space out my JCIB visits so I won't gain too much weight from these Irish goodies!

Irish Spring.

It is raining Irish this year and I never asked for it.  It just happened.

2009 has been odd from the start.  Dating?  Men from Dublin, men from Waterford, Limerick.  The lovely Irish accents (Gaelic from one made me swoon).  Hung out with the Irish in Boston and then vice versa here in SF.  I'm loving this experience, made even better with the damn soda bread served at Foley's.  I was munching on that even though I ordered my usual hamburger.

I've passed by this bakery many a time but just never went in.  Granted the lovely baked scones and breads have always been puffing themselves up at me but I've never paid any attention.  Fast forward to recently and I did go in after perusing the counters at the Kosher deli next door.  Large fresh scones with chocolate, blueberry, and raisins topping the wicker baskets in the display window.  Shortbread cookies with heavy glazing.  Breads.  Soda bread.

This is help yourself service, so grab one of the little white baggies and proceed ahead with picking what best entices you.  In my case, I selected three of the almond shortbread cookies with the white sugar glaze, one blueberry scone and one Irish Liquer Almond Scone.

One of the things that seem to deter me from purchasing some scones is that there is a slight bitter aftertaste down my throat.  Why?  Too much baking powder can shift that subtle balance in the batter and unfortunately, such was my experience with the Irish Liquer Almond Scone.  A slight disappointment.  However, I did nibble away at the blueberry scone, delightful, crumbly and chock full with berries.  The cookies were somewhat disappointing because the lovely buttery shortbread was hidden beneath the thick glaze of sugar icing.  I did not even have the heart to offer any to the fellow, since it was basically munching on a sugar glaze wafer.  Ah, the deceit!

Otherwise, a cute little escape off the Geary and if you desire scones, this is the place.  I'm upping the rating to another star because one bad scone does not mean the entire batch is bad, although that would rebut the theory that one bad apple ruins the entire bushel.  I'll be going back to try their other baked items.  Perhaps the loaf of soda bread.

And that with a pat of Kerrygold butter is a guaranteed good thing.

What a great hidden gem! On a street filled with sushi, dim sum, pho, and thai restaurants, this Irish bakery is a nice change of pace. I stopped in yesterday to grab a half dozen chocolate chip scones for our breakfast. The scones were absolutely delicious - moist, tasty, and oh so fresh! The bakery also carries Irish soda bread, traditional brown bread, and a wide variety of scones.

Thinking of an era filled with bangers and potato bread conjures up bittersweet memories of eating in Ireland with my mom, and being thirty pounds heavier because I just couldn't say no to it, regardless of how much I've eaten.

Driving through the hood, I was instructed to stop at the Irish Bakery for a quick to go lunch before rollin' over to my friend's house to chill for the day. I thank and curse him the same now for finding the place as I know that in the future, those extra pounds I'll need to work off my ass at the gym and in the studio are due to my fix needing to be filled. Upon walking into the petite bakery filled with people, as it was just after lunch, I was overwhelmed by the smell of fresh authentic Irish breads, pastries, and products I haven't seen since I was in Belfast, or even in Dublin.

The soda bread was freshly baked that day, and fell apart in the bag as I consumed the large serving. His tart was delicious, and he ate it up like it was going out of style. The potato bread came in bags next to the lit up case, and samples (love my samples ya'll) abounded on the counter boasting garlic bread, delicious cookies, and the likes.....all authentic....

Now I have somewhere to go on Geary when I'm just feeling the need to expand my booty, and enjoy every bite of it while doing so.

I love this bakery.  Everything is made from scratch and although the main chef/cook seems less friendly than his employees, they are awesome.  So friendly and so helpful and just sweet.

My favorites are the curry chicken pasties and the apple crumb mini tarts and the vegetable focaccia pizza thing.  Oh my goodness just thinking about them is making me hungry.  Ooo!  The soups are really good too!

I took my friend there and she got a cup of hot coffee and the meat focaccia pizza thing for 5 bucks and she was super thrilled by it.  They will heat any item if you desire.  Ooo!  The scones, oh those yummy, fluffy, scones...

I suspect this place is better than I can appreciate. It seems to have all that would need to go into a great bakery. And San Franciscan's, their stoned &/or drunken selves, love a good pastry. Yet, when I take my sober (tho'sometimes hung over) self into this place, I can't help but be seized with indecision.

Nothing really strikes me as good, and after I eat it I think, "it was ok". But I'm not sure that a $5 focaccia w/ cheese and bacon really was all that much better than a $2.95 egg mcmuffin at mcdonald's despite the better ingredients. Its a puzzle and I can't quite figure out what I just don't enjoy this place.

The staff is usually above-average looks for boy or girl, which is usually a plus. They are usually quite friendly and - despite other reviews - have provided quite sufficient service. But frankly I'd rather have good food and service where they spit in my face (tho' not the food) rather than good service with a smile and crappy food. This place has both good food and good service and... I still amn't fond of it.

I contrast this with, say, Tartine's. Now I'm not going to fault this place for not being as good as Tartine's. Yet, I can find things at Tartine's I've never had, or just sound good, and they are good. It's a fairly weak standard for judgement but its the best I can do at this time.

Compared even with Arizmendi I find John Cambpells to be a significantly inferior experience (although it has much less self-serve, and a much lower yuppy-with-baby-stroller factor). And yet I can't quite figure out why - there is no obvious reason for such a disparity. Three stars mostly to testify to my bafflement.

After going to see the amazing Faberge eggs/Tiffany lamps exhibit at the Legion of Honor we passed by one of my favorite streets in SF, Geary. Geary is like a mini city with Russian video stores, Oriental produce markets, Thai lunch shops, German pubs and now one of my all-time favorites, John Campbell's Irish bakery.

What happened was that we were looking for a place to eat so we parked right in front of the bakery and started to feed the meter. Little did we know that a quarter could only cover 10 minutes - CRIMINAL.

So we had to look for change ... Luckily the people inside Campbell's were nice enough to give us 2 more dollars in quarters as a cover for an up and down the street walk. However, while inside, they had tastings of the most amazing double chocolate almond filled cakes. I tried some and was blown away, so chocolately, so flakey crusty, so sweet coconutty with a gracious blend of vanilla/almond filling. It stunned me and I almost fell back into the glass door with the rush of unexpected flavor flooding my mouth. I actually got dizzy and couldn't forget about it while I walked all over the place. It followed me everywhere.

So when I got back to the car, I just had to get a take-home sample for the way home to San Jose. What was the price for 5 little incredible pies... only TEN DOLLARS. Ten little insignificant dollars, 40 quarters, 1000 pennies to make a man happy beyond his wildest dreams. And no tax either. Yes, I dropped down 2 5's and that was it.

You have got to take advantage of this little store/bakery. Take your girl there, get her a blueberry scone or a delicious crumbly coffee cake that melts into your palm and on to the floor if you are not really, really careful. Get the rush for yourself that I got.

I am gushing I know but hey this place blew me away. An unexpected treasure that I am going to visit every time I return and I go to Geary A LOT.

What a find for me, I'm so happy.

I believe that this place has the yummiest Irish Soda Bread and my sister swears by their pasties pies (not sure what they are really called) that they heat up for her.

This place is small, but oh so great. You can smell the deliciousness from across the street!

The staff are great, very friendly and quite helpful. I even bought their tshirt - don't mind being their walking advertisement ;-)

Wonderful little Irish Bakery.  A definite place to go ...

This place is such a hidden gem on Geary Street.

Their pasties are delicious and perfect for those fog filled, cold San Francisco days when you want comforting, stick to your ribs food.   Although all of them are very tasty, the chicken and curry packs a nice amount of heat.  You can have them heat one up for you so you can walk down Geary and take in the sites or take some home to heat up later.

Also, the "Club" soda is so refreshing.  Get the "Rock Shandy", which is a mix of lemon and orange.

All of their pastries are DELICIOUS and the breads are outta this world.

***WARNING***THIS PLACE IS CASH ONLY***

We got the blueberry scones. Sure. They are pretty delicious, but this review is all about the Mince Meat! Mince puffs, mince tarts...just like grandma used to make. Warning: mince meat is an acquired taste, so don't run out and get them if you are unadventurous. But do run out and get them if you have fond memories of Thanksgiving with the Sullies back Boston way.

(oh and nice, friendly service and good prices and all that.)

Man the potato bread here is "AMAZING."  I really hesitate to use that word too because it's so misapplied.  I usually want to slam people when they say it.  "Oh, that Diet Coke you got at McDonald's yesterday was "AMAZING?"  Really?  A Diet f***ing Coke?  It caused you great wonder or surprise?  That's funny Diet Coke just causes me to burp a lot.   Try looking up the definition once.

If you want to really understand how to use it, go to John Campbell's Irish Bakery and load up on some potato bread.  You'll experience great wonder at how savory it is and surprise that you can't stop eating it.  It's addictive like crack.  That my foolish friends is how you use "AMAZING."

My favorite bakery in all of San Francisco. Fantastic scones, soda bread and pasties. Makes me nostalgic for the British Isles.

You gotta love their chocolate chip scones and cookies!
They got some awesome pasties and foccacia bread.
It's not cheap, but definitely worth a try.

I love this bakery! Not only are their baked goodies super yummy, but the staff is also very nice and friendly and they always have samples out. Their chocolate chip scone is really light, buttery and flaky, and they have this cherry chocolate bread that is super good!
I'm in love with their Irish brown bread and so is my family in San Diego, i bring them a loaf every time I head down there. They have a good variety of various baked goods, both sweet and savory, and there's an Irish pub next door where you can take any sandwiches you order to go. Oh, and around Easter time they make some damn good hot cross buns. Definitely worth a visit!

2 words: HELLA GOOD!
Best blueberry scone around. It's soft and fluffy, not hard and crumbly. They only get better warmed and with a flick of butter.

Holy mother, this place is so good.

So good that I stuffed my face with Irish baked goods after already being stuffed from Mongolian-style hot pot.  There were so many things I wanted to try, but I ended up having the chocolate snowball (gigantic, had to eat it in 2 sittings), the rhubarb tart w/ the shortbread top (seriously the BEST I've had, ever), and a bite of the iced shortbread cookie (shortbread was good, icing was too sweet for my taste).

It's also CHEAP!  And I love how they have the 5/$10 type deals - b/c I swear, after having one of those rhubarb tarts, I'm thinking next time I'm getting 5 for $10.  I'll have to try the scones.  They ran out of Irish cream scones.  I will have to compare them to Bakesale Betty's... uh-oh...

Holy mother, this place was good.
