This is not a huge zoo, but it's great for kids.

There are lots of opportunities to get close to the animals - there is an area to pet wallabies (although they wouldn't come near us), sting rays, and budgies. You have to pay extra to pet the string rays, feed the sting rays, and feed the budgies.

What really put this place over the top with my kids were the zip line and the Sky Trail Ropes Course. The zip line does not go far - but the kids got a thrill out of it (you must be 43" and 65 lbs to ride). The Sky Trail Ropes Course is really cool - like a giant play set that you wear a harness and lock into an overhead rope so you can't fall off (you have to be 48" to do that.)

We had 4 hours and felt rushed - we definitely could have stayed all day. We didn't get to the camel rides or see all of the animals.

Highly recommended.

John Ball Zoo is a nice zoo for its size. There is a decent selection of animals, but there could always be more.
