Ok, maybe I am just clueless, but why is this labelled a gay bar?  isn't it a sports bar that happens to be in midtown?

regardless, that's what I am rating it against, and for that it is pretty damn decent - typical sports pub food, plenty of TVs, casual yet comfortable atmosphere, and outdoor dining if you prefer.

OK, and maybe a few 'hey honey's' from the waiter,

I've gone here twice for Crazy Bitch Bingo; the patio is amazing at night when it's warm. The first time was a blast (I took my Mom- I don't advise anyone take their parents unless they can handle the adult humor!) the trivia is fun and the ambiance is great, with a good mix of people.

The second time I went, they tried doing one-hit wonder music trivia. I think the topic was a little off for the demographic that was there. Only people in their late 30's through 50 might remember the one-hit wonders of the 1980s, but most of the people there seemed to be in their 20s & early 30s. That part of the game dragged on for the longest time without a winner and the MC had to start giving us clues because no one could even guess who the artists were.

I would still recommend going here, the wait staff is actually nicer than the wait staff at some "family" restaurants and the food is reasonably priced. I was a little disappointed with my dessert, it was cold from being in the fridge and a little dried out. I still ate it though, I needed something to balance out my appletini intake!

Went there twice over the weekend.  The patio expansion is great.  However the kitchen can't keep up with the customers.

The server was just adequate on both occasions.

Don't autograt my check and then give me mediocre service.   When you get someone that is in the business and they tell you are in the business, you should understand they will probably tip you well if you give great service.

The food was substance only and not flavorful.  On Thursday I had a cold burger served with frozen onion rings with a cool center.  On Saturday it was so uneventful I can't remember what I ordered.

They definitely had some issues 10/29 and 10/31.  A busy restaurant is not a reason for bad service TWICE!

I kind of wanted to take this joint home with me.  Like, the whole damn thing... inclusive of wait staff, outdoor patio, and perfectly beautiful weather.

When you have a stellar dining companion, sun and breeze, a decent beer, and great grub, there's really nothing to complain about.  And even though some of the waitstaff here are outrageously flamboyant, it all adds to the cute and kitschy adorableness of Joe's as a whole.

Having managed to dine here twice in one week, I can wholeheartedly report that it's readily worth a bite.  The cobb salad comes deconstructed, and will leave you just as full as the spicy shrimp salad.  That one is creamy delicious goodness with some hefty sliced-in-half giant shrimp which are tender and juicy.  I do wish that they had just a smidge more kick to them.  I think the spiciness of the shrimp gets lost in the creaminess of the salad dressing.

Oh.  And did I mention that the help here is ultra cute?  I'm just sayin'...

One of last gloriously sunny days of late Summer/early
Fall found me and Kevin L sitting on the patio at Joe's, catching up on convo, eating some fried calamari and enormous salads, all while enjoying the sunshine at a leisurely pace.

While the food here is standard all-American pub fare, their menu houses more salads than you'd normally find at a bar, the Coca-Colas are served in gigantic cups and they feature ANCHOR wing sauce...the hot sauce that started it all in Buffalo, NY! This alone is worth some points in the legit department.

Perhaps it was my sunglasses, or the inevitable charm of my lunch buddy, but the service we received was very friendly, and our waiter was quirky, cute and made himself right at home at our table a few times, which seemed to be the thing to do at a place like Joe's. They've got the formula for a good lunch down: patio, sunshine, southern hospitality, Anchor wing sauce, Coca-Cola.

I guess I must be behind because I didn't even know this was a gay bar... just thought a lot hung out there.  I've been here just once so don't put much weight on this review, but the whole thing was kinda weird (and possibly in a slightly drunken haze).  I engaged in some good conversation at the bar with a woman and then some man joined us, they didn't know eachother.  The next thing I knew they disappeared.  So I go to the ladie's room to pee and they're having sex in the bathroom stall.

How to gain an extra star from Kiki:

1. Let me bring my precious Tikka to your patio and allow her to sit with me.
2. Serve a steak salad that's filling and delicious without being too heavy.
3. Have waiters that make me smile, even when nursing painful, painful hangovers.

Done and done.

I'd love to tell you about the food at Joe's on Juniper.  I'd love to tell you about the decor and their nice litle patio.  I'd love to tell you about he ambiance and their outdoor movies.  I'd love to tell you about their service but, apparently it is only offered to gay men and women.  Straight people are simply ignored.

Supposedly all those things I'd love to tell you about are pretty decent and good but, as a heterosexual... I cannot tell you.

I'm surprised that there weren't higher ratings for this place. On Monday nights they have "retro movie night". I sat on the patio tonight, watched "Fatal Attraction", ate chicken wings and drank cheap beer.

Minus one star because service was a touch slow...

I went with some coworkers for lunch. We sat on the patio because it was a lovely fall day. Our waiter was nice but the food was slow. The potato chips were nice and crispy but the onion rings could have been crispier though I like that they use a beer batter. My major disappointment was the Caesar salad I got as a side. I don't know when it was tossed but it was overdressed and slightly wilted by the time it got to me. Also, I wished the buffalo wings were more flavorful though we did order medium. In contrast, the honey bbq wings were full of zing and tang and not too sweet, which is my usual gripe. My medium border burger was well made and delicious though I was sad to see only a few sprinkles of cheese. When I order a burger with cheese, it would be nice to taste it. Half the table ordered the jerk chicken sandwich special which was posted on a chalkboard behind the stool of menus and was almost missed. The sandwich came on focaccia, I believe, with melted cheese and looked good. Decent food, come when you have time to chill and enjoy some beers.

So, here's the thing...

Maybe its because I'm generally the queen of the queens, but I loved Joe's, I attended with a pair of brothers, the evening started out with a few brews and tons of laughs with my new favorite partners in crime, and while both boys are straight they suggested the gay sports bar down the street as our next stop for the evening, and I couldn't have been more delighted.

So, we moseyed down the block to Joe's, grabbed a table under the patio, ordered a pitcher and hung out, a few glasses later I'm staring at veggie nachos(thank you for putting up with my vegetarianism boys), and laughing so hard I'm nearly crying.

Another pitcher later I've got a smoke in hand, gazing at a vintage Olivia Newton John t-shirt and having a supremely grand time. We listened to thunder, cracked wise on passerby-ers, and stumbled to our next stop for the evening, these are the kind of night that make summer amazing.

This rating is base solely on the chili I ordered from Joe's via Zifty. Huge portion, perfect comfort food, yum: Description of the chile from the menu: "Certified Angus Beef® ground chuck and kidney beans with a touch of cumin - a spicy simmer topped with Jack and cheddar chesses and green onions." Just spicy enough to get my blood flowing, without tearing up.
I've been to Joe's on many occasions and have found the food to be solid pub food, but nothing special - it's the atmosphere and trivia nights that draw me. And I'm not usually a fan of chili. So this was a wonderful discovery. Great flavor and value for money.

I want to like Joe's just a little bit more, but they just haven't earned it quite yet.  (That said, I'm down with giving them many second chances.)

Went there for the second time yesterday, and it was a beautiful spring weekend, so the patio was super packed.  We ended up inside rather than standing around.  I'm not sure they had enough staff on hand for the crowd, as our server got roped into helping behind the bar.  This meant waiting a little while to get a drink, which isn't my favorite thing in the world.

The food was fine.  Not "Oh my god I must have this again and again", but not bad.  Though the nacho chips appeared to be orange in color.  I hope that's just how it looked from all the fluorescent lighting.  (Though clearly it wasn't a health food kind of day.)

I was on a business trip and needed to get out of the Perimeter. So we drove to midtown. Joe's was a perfect place to just lounge and cut loose. We got there just in time for Thursday's trivia.

About the Trivia: They do trivia differently from others I've been to. There's 6 rounds of trivia and in each round they'll give you three categories. Your team decides how to set points to the question from 1, 3, 5 points in the first half and 2, 4, 6 in the second half. There's a half time rally question where you can get a lot more points added to the score. At the end there is a question that can be answered correctly either as a written answer or multiple choice. If you don't get it right you get docked points. We did really BAD but it was fun :)

Food was good for bar food. Loved the chips! We also got some chicken wings... I thought the regular medium hot wings were the best over the others we tried. Service was good too. But we thought the waiters came to see us just about the same time the questions to the trivia were being asked. So convenient for them.. but at least one of our team members was listening for the question at all times... again it didn't matter since we did so poorly, haha.

Other things: They have indoor and outdoor seating but most of the people were eating out, probably to people watch. They have trivia nights on both Tuesday and Thursday. They also have a bunch of other things going on throughout the week. I guess you can also take a Fur bus to some baseball games. Parking: We had to valet park since I didn't see any other place to park.

Alert! Alert!

Joe's Has a "Mystery Beer" Special Going On... Right Now!

I was very, very drunk (hic) last night and the details might be a little sketchy (hic) but I'll try my best here...  (hic)

For 3 bucks... yeah... you heard me... 3 bucks! The bartender surprises you! (sounds scary right?)

Think of it like deathless Russian roulette!

I had a Blue Moon Pumpkin Ale, a Heineken Dark (I didn't even know they made one!) and some other delicious surprises (the details are fuzzy)! The only bad one I got was that horrible new Budweiser "micro brew"... and let me save you the trouble of trying it... sucks egg!

Um... plus I had Raspberry wings? What!? Yeah you heard me! Raspberry wings! (berry and white wine glaze... weird... but yum!)

I'm still not sure why the menu at Joe's pictures a neon sign for 'Rexall Drugs' and another that says "Studbuns Bakery"... but whatever... spend 20 bucks on Mystery Beers and you won't care!

(hic!)

The theme of the night can be summed up in one word: Cold.

My beers were cold.
My wiener was old and cold.
My buns were stiff, stale and cold.
My balls were cold.

...The balls of my feet!

Check all your limbs and make sure they're intact before you leave this outhouse on the Hoth planet. You definitely don't want to leave any franks and beans behind here...

And don't sit outside in that friggin tepee unless you're a Wampa.

Burr!

Wow!!  Is it or isn't it?  I dunno..

Okay, so I just read the other reviews and they make me laugh.  I have so much to learn!  I went here the other night with some friends at the last minute.  As I had already had dinner, I went thinking I was just going for drinks.  I also confess I didn't think there was any possibility we were heading someplace even remotely cool--as it was 9:00PM on a Sunday night!

Right away I must admit I caved and am glad to report I enjoyed my second dinner much more than my first.  However, as I slept through most of breakfast and lunch maybe it all balances out.

Let me say how excited I was to be able to park without any hassle!  I probably could have walked there...but it was dark and I'm still getting lost enough to know that might not be the best idea when I can drive.

The atmosphere was fun!  While I did notice an abundance of males, as I was with a mixed group I never even thought of the place as a gay bar and still have no idea!   Yep....much to learn I still have.  (okay, that's the best Yoda impression I can manage right now) The service was great, the music was upbeat and at times a bit too loud--but well worth it to see this one really, really hefty girl getting her grove on to some Pink.  I think I even saw someone playing some Wii game.  However, folks all around were having a good time, self included.

I had the wings, medium heat and they were fantastic!  I am picky about how I like my wings, and these definitely fit the bill.  Hot, crispy, perfectly seasoned, and not dripping with grease.  My drink was constantly refilled, our server was friendly and attentive, and there was an undercurrent of positive energy all around.  So, whatever kind of establishment Joe's may be...I give it two thumbs up.

I cringe every time I hear the phrase, "Let's go to Joe's!"

This place has HORRIBLE food.  I've deemed 2 things safe to eat - the hotdog and the honey bbq wings.  That's it.  Their salads are far from fresh.  The chicken noodle soup is the worst I've ever had.  The burgers made me sick.

And any time you have a problem?  No one cares.  I've had to practically throw a fit to get the soup taken off my bill (and I served for years so I don't fuss unless it's THAT bad).

The drinks are pricey.  It's always packed.  I can never hear a damn thing any of my friends are saying.  And the service is meh.  I've had 2 awesome servers though, and I pray that I get them every time we walk in.

Seriously, this is one of those places I have to take a tranquilizer before I meet up with my friends (and eat dinner at home).

Stopped into Joe's for a couple of beers before Trivia started. Sat at the communal table by the bar. Everyone that worked there was super friendly - from the host, to the bartender, to the servers scurrying around. This place is apparently very popular when it comes to Trivia because almost every table was reserved.

I had given them a heads up that a large group (Yelp week 3) was coming, they said they could accommodate them on the patio which was enclosed with plastic; turn on the heat and sound. I joined the group for another beer before I headed out and it was a little chilly for my wimpy self, but it was nice not be surrounded by smokers.

I didn't have anything to eat, so based on the service, and the atmosphere - lots of TV's around (not sure if for sports or dancing with the stars) and the typical neighborhood bar feel, I give Joe's 3 stars.

Visiting Atlanta for the day, my partner and I decided to grab dinner in the midtown area.  We decided on Joe's on Juniper since it looked like a "fun" place.  We walked in, grabbed a menu, and sat ourselves (as the sign directed us to).  Cut to:  15 minutes later and we're still waiting for someone to stop by our table.   I like being able to choose which table I want to dine at in a restaurant, but not at the expense of zero service because they're not paying attention to people seating themselves.

Our server finally did come greet us and took our order.  He was very friendly, but didn't stop by very often (we waited longer than normal for the check and then to pay for the check after it was dropped off).

The menu was basically bar food, but it was pretty good.  I ordered the bleu cheese burger and my partner ordered the buffalo chicken wrap, and we split the two.  Both tasted delicious.  The burger was still juicy, as they were able to accommodate a "medium" cook request (yea!) and the buffalo chicken wrap was dripping with just the right amount of spicy hot sauce on it.  The fries were average.  They had potential, but I think they had been sitting out awhile and the fryer oil needed changing.

We were impressed by the drink menu Joe's offered on each table.  They had specialty drinks, including drink shots, listed with their ingredients.  That's something a lot of bars should offer more of.  I'd be more likely to buy shots to try something new if I knew the names (and ingredients) of some outside of my typical 3 or 4.

The crowd was definitely gay, but we could see where the restaurant/bar would be fun for college-aged people, gay or straight.  The atmosphere was lively with random sports, movie, and gay-themed decor strewn about the entire restaurant.  People were laughing around the room and having a good time, including the servers.  Hmmm...maybe that's why they were too busy to wait on their tables?

Pluses:  sandwiches, drink menus, ambiance, lots of outdoor seating (when it's not rainy and/or cold)
Minuses:  service, fries, smoking in entire restaurant (putting up non-smoking signs in one tiny section doesn't stop the drifting smoke)

Sometimes I feel like I am sometimes the last to know in Atlanta...and other times I feel like I am the first...I guess it just kinda depends.  And thats all i'll say about that.

During a late night craving and trying to figure out a new spot to hit downtown, we decided to try Joe's on Juniper after reading a review that highlighted these outstanding wings they had.

Wings?  Late night?  We were in.

The wings sucked.  And I cant remember what else we had.  I did like the cider, cant remember the name of it, but it was good.

$40 something dollar bill, seemed a little too grimy...just not impressed...gross.

OK, so I went to Joe's this past weekend, alone, ooooooo ahhhhhh LOL...

And the food was GREAT, not to mention the martini I just had to indulge in.

I had the buffalo chicken salad (flaming hot, of course) with a side of ranch dressing, yummmm. I was in the mood for hot wings and a salad, so that combo was right up my alley.

My waiter was soooo nice, prompt and very helpful. And knowing me if I can crack a joke and you can come back with one even funnier, you're an A+ in my book.

The patio seating is wonderful, there is just enough room for everyone, but also set up perfectly where it's not too crowded.

I will definitely be going back to Joe's- service & food, GREAT! ! !
And who knows I may just go alone again!

So, this is a place that I randomly pass by when doing the one way Juniper thing, often on accident or doing the crazy thing when Piedmont turns from one way to two ways. Finally, dear Joe's was an actual destination for me last night, as opposed to a glimmer on the left side of the road.

It was surprisingly sports bar-ish inside. Um, or maybe I was the only one that was surprised. Not knowing much about Joe's, maybe it's already known as a sports bar? Regardless. Definitely had all the classic makings of one - collegiate flags hanging from the ceiling and the obligatory multiple flat screen TVs.

A recent fascination with cobb salads made my menu decision quick - and I must say, she was a nice one. A cobb that I wouldn't mind having again. Also obsessed with french fries, these passed the test, too.

The service was quick and friendly, and our large group of twenty or so were pretty excited when he happily doled out separate checks. Major bonus points.

Parking can be a bit clugey so it's easy to get sucked in to the $5 valet parking shared with Einstein's, but I'm left without anything amiss to say about Joe!

So it'd been years since I'd been to Joe's, and I'd forgotten how solidly good it is.  The tanked chicken nachos were amazingly good, though the extra guacamole was not worth it (brown means you should have added lime juice or made it fresh today...).  I swear there was some pixie dust in the cheese sauce or something.

I thought the service was excellent considering the size of our group and the hassle that we provided of ordering at completely different times.  As Deanna mentioned, super double bonus points for splitting the checks, and again at separate times as we all decided to take off.

Trivia was fun, though it was difficult to hear and understand from where we were sitting and the points didn't really seem to properly add up in the end.  But it's trivia that I know, so I like it better than other trivia spots I've been.

Parking is definitely a pain - I suggest getting a friend in Midtown with extra parking or moving to Midtown yourself so you can just walk.  Else, spring for the valet and safe yourself the walk down the dark and random street.

Pass by all the time, but it took me years to go in. Why? I have no idea but after a little egging on from my neighbors who were craving a late night meal and a few more drinks on a Sunday night we decided to pay Joes on Juniper a visit and no regrets here.

The staff; very friendly and quick, but there weren't alot of people/ patrons on this visit.

The food: Nachos. Definitely hit the spot. I have never seen so much attention to detail placed into some nachos before. It was odd. Nachos are nachos, thrown together and served. There was some time put into these. Odd, but impressive....and then they were devoured. lol

The drinks; Pitchers of Sweetwater and whiskey and jager shots. Yes I said whiskey. lol Average pricing. Not cheap but not expensive either.

The vibe: Chill as you would expect a Sunday evening to be.

All in all it was definitely a much needed finish to a very crazy weekend.
I'm really looking forward to seeing what it would be like on another night. Guess when i'm driving down Juniper i'm just going to have to turn in instead of passing Joes by next time.

In general, I really love this place.  Not because I've been eating here since the mid 90's or because I spent the summer of 1999 working here (and, yes, we did party like it was with a soundtrack courtesy of Cher and the Backstreet Boys) or even because I met my ex here (started good, ended bad), but because it's one of the few places in this city that remains a constant.

Boy oh boy (no pun intended), could I tell you stories about this place back when Midtown was Midtown. This was the place to be on a Friday or Saturday with your BGFFs before heading out to the three B's:  Blake's, Burkharts and Backstreet.  Ah, good times - good times, indeed (those I can remember, anyway).

And today, with familiar places being torn down on what seems like a friggin' daily basis and replaced by tacky hi-rise condos, it's nice to be able to go here, sit amongst decor that hasn't changed one iota from opening day and enjoy the Plain Jane burger with onion rings - both of which taste exactly as they did the first time I had them almost 12 years ago.

Jeez, this is taking on the tone of "When I was your age, we had to walk 20 miles to the nearest restaurant - in the snow - without shoes - and we liked it!"  Sorry 'bout that.

Point is, this is still a great place for a burger, a pitcher of beer and people watching. It's not the best food in town, but it certainly is comfort food, at least to me.  Joe is like an old friend in a town full of new people and I hope we're buddies for a long time. Now, excuse me while I go wipe the tear from my eye.

BONUS QUESTION - Can anyone tell me the name of the restaurant that was there before it was JOJ?

I had finished up with a miserable dentist's visit and had the rest of the day to myself.  My little mobile web showed an interesting spot so I set my navigation on and followed the directions to Joe's on Juniper.

I'm always amazed at how these little gems are tucked in and around unexpected places in downtown Atlanta.

A clear sunny and warm/cool day on the patio seemed A-Ok.  Then the blasted drilling and blowhorns started across the way.  According to my server, this misery across the way was been going on for quite some time.  I feel so sorry for the workers!  6 stories of construction below ground and then multiple stories above and it's not done yet!

I digress.  My Border Veggie burger was awesome.  I'm not a total vegetarian, btw.  I just like the feeling of being full without being dragged down by what I ate.

Joe's doesn't rely on Morningside Farm for their veggie burgers.  They make their own!  It's so good!   And, they have Guinness on tap!  Boo on the fact that they didn't serve mine in the traditional Guinness glass.

This place looks like it can get crazy on a Friday/Saturday night.  Count me out.  That parking area they have looks like a surefire way to bring on a bad mood and attitude during peak hours.

Oh, if you go, don't sit under a tree.  Ha!  Is that possible?  I did and got bird poop on my top.  Yay!!!!

I heart Joe's. I like having at least three gay men comment on my "rack" every time I go, I like the fact that everyone sings along with certain songs, I like that they do trivia twice a week, and I like the staff. They will sit and chat with you if they have the time, and most of them have a banter with the regulars that is fun to observe.

Joe's really isn't a place to go for the food, though the queso is really good. You go for the atmosphere. Today when we were there for a Youth Pride fundraiser, we saw a middle aged couple with teenagers sitting next to a group that was giving each other lapdances...and this was before the hula contest (and before five...). The couple gradually warmed up to their surroundings, but it was funny to watch them squirm for awhile.

Next time you want to hang out on a patio and have a good time, try Joe's. Be sure to go with an open mind--there is always something happening to entertain you here.

Never eaten there, but cool bar vibe. Not too expensive.

The main attraction- Keno.  I could totally go play right now. It's a rip off Bingo but watching those balls float to your numbers (or not) is the greatest minute of overpriced anticipation and excitement.

Met up with some friends driving up from Florida while in town and we ended up here for dinner based on our friend's recommendation. Since it's a smoking establishment and we had a kid with us we got stuck at the patio seating; not ideal in Atlanta in late August, but not as bad as we remember Tampa being. ;)

I had the fried jumbo shrimp, and we had chips & salsa all around; nothing real special but decent food at decent prices.

Joe's has the perfect patio for having lunch with friends or co-workers on a pretty day. The menu has a lot of choices, standard American food. I was disappointed that they took their chicken salad sandwich off the menu recently - it was one of my favorites.

Great service, great good, and a killer patio for lunch. The only drawback is the insane construction going on right across the street on on Juniper itself. Which makes for interesting parking and getting there a challenge.

It sounds like I didn't really experience what people go here for... the patio, crowd, the bad service and what not...

I didn't think the service was horrible, but I went when it wasn't too busy and had the server had more than my table the service probably would've been considered lousy.  I read off my order to him, he pretended to write it down, repeated half of it, walked away, walked back "so you want this and this?" ... "no, this" ...  "and what did you want to drink?" (which stood out as particularly strange, since when ordering I asked him if they had it, we scanned the drink menu and found it, and I told him I wanted it).. If I didn't know better I'd guess he was on something but what do I know.

They have $5 lunch specials (until 4pm), which I guess is sort of a deal... but... one of those specials is a $5 burger.  I expected the cheese (and presumably bacon and other special toppings) to be extra... but they charged me 50 cents for shredded lettuce, and another 50 cents for tomato???  ok,  i guess..  the burger itself was OK but was under seasoned and needed a little zip of something.

The waiter was very friendly, I will say that..

Eh, I came here one day while waiting for someone to finish getting a haircut.  When I walked in I was greeted like I was a jerk, so that was fun.

Then I asked about the veggie burger offered, and no one I spoke to could attest to it being vegan or not.  So I stuck to a wrap, that ended up being rabbit food in a pita.  My favorite.  Blech.

Some of you have said, "Oui" and many "Non"  so, me, being vegan, will say Non. As a vegan I felt out of place here.  And I was rudely served to boot.  So three stars is for my one trip there (and I may never go back) but I have hopes for improvement, even if the location is hard to get to if you aren't already nearby.

One of the first places I had eaten at arriving in Atlanta.  It has an amazing outdoor patio to eat on and watch the midtown traffic and rising sky scrapers.  The food is the usual paired with beer fare.  From burgers to salads and some pretty good wings.  What I like to get is something I dont find much on Atlanta menus are the Hot Dogs which are great here.  All in all a fun place to eat with friends or a late night drink after work with a basket of fries.

Sunday afternoons are the best.  Great people watching!

Decent food.

The staff ranges from upbeat and fun to hungover and bitchy.  If you are a regular, they will take care of you.

If service is any indication, then I'm never going back.

We were basically seated at a table by the host, then told quite rudely by the server that we couldn't sit there.  Then we proceeded to watch as the host and server fought over whether we could sit there or not (while we were trying to scurry away).  Finally we were moved to another server's section, who basically treated us like crap as well.

I really can't figure out why we stayed?  Cheap beer, I guess.   The food is unremarkable (good wings, though), parking is a pain, and there are so many better places to go.

Things I like about Joe's: Tanked Chicken Nachos (up there on the Top Nacho list Patrick and I keep), lots of giant hot dog variations, and their Mushroom & Cheese burger.  Also tasty are their sweet potato fries, one of my favorite things about Atlanta, besides the sweet tea.

I also like the patio, which is the only area I've ever dined in... I've never actually eaten inside.  Which brings me to the things I dislike about Joe's:

The music is incredibly loud, as are the multitudinous wild, late-night patrons, many of whom end the evening by making out in the corner of the patio.  At least, while I was there.  The servers are sketchy - if they decide they like you, you're alright, but if someone is having a bad day, then they will ensure that you will have a bad day, too.

The verdict: I like the food, and the patio setting is pretty if you ignore the PDA.  I'd hit up Joe's if Einstein's is too busy... and since they're owned by the same people (or so I was told), I don't think they'll complain.

ended up in the ATL on wednesday night on a connecting flight to costa rica. since we knew some peeps in hotlanta we went out to meet them in the city before our 7am flight the next morning, we got in at 11 p.m. we were in midtown by 11:45 and all met at the nook - which was closing (wtf ATL?). so we walked a block to the W hotel ($7 yuengling bottles...nice) nice outdoor area. Fred took us to Joe's which was around the corner. i am just now realizing it is an official gay bar. all the waiters were noticeably gay. we drank pitchers till close (2am i think) and ate a s--- ton of food. wings, burgers, fries, you name it. all in all, it was a good place. you can't get pitchers in nyc for under like $12, so it was nice to pay $7 for a pitcher. they had a huge patio area which is awesome.  the waitress was a little, hmm...how do i say it...flustered, which is not a good sign seeing as that we were the only ones there. when it gets packed, and i'm sure it does, it's probably trouble.
