Yep.  Joe Momma's is still "nummy..nummy..to my tummy!"

I must say that it has become routine to eat at least once a week at this fine little pizza joint.  And, in the process of repeated business, the boss and I have learned more little insider tidbits to pass along to my fellow yelpers.

1, if you like calzones, then you will probably like Joe Momma's.  That is if you like garlic oil slathered on the outside and a very doughy crust.  Personally, I have a love/hate thing going with these.  They taste good, but I can not help but think of ways to make them better.

2, if you like hand-breaded chicken strips, then try them.  I think they have only gotten better.  Just a quick note, for some reason management has (in its infinite wisdom) to start charging for sides of ranch!  Dick move I think, but the honey mustard is still free and the true star of the sides.  As in my previous review, order the chicken strips just so you can have something to dip into the honey mustard.  I have already embarrassed myself enough by drinking it out of the cup!

3, do not order a pizza larger than medium.  Huh?!?  Yep.  If you like thin crispy crust, then you will not get it on the large.  For some reason (size vs. heat vs. lots of toppings I would imagine) the crust gets soggy once you go past medium.  Of course, that just means you can order more than one kind and enjoy all the wacky combos the staff has to offer.

Oh, that leads me to...

4, management has decided to change around the menu by adding sandwiches, more desserts, and a few other speciality topping offerings.  I find this choice cool because it will allow us to keep trying new things at such a fun place.

I just finished a month long tour of America.  Many famous food cities were included.  But at the end of the day, and after shoveling through all of the B.S. and hype, the pizza I had here was one of the best meals I had.

I have to say, as a new yorker, the pizza here blows away anything I've had in new york.

The service was out of the way hospitable.  And they even have asteroids and galaga!

If Joe Mamma's were in nyc, I would go there all  the time.

I was contacted by Blake (the owner) about my issues with Joe Momma's consistently burning my pizza. He apologized and invited me to have a pizza on him. He said that the cooking had improved since I last visited 6-7 months ago.

I arrived at 11:00 am on a Saturday morning. My order was placed by 11:20 am. This was longer than I would have liked, but they were busy getting ready for a Book Reading event for kids (I brought my young daughter, she loved it) so it was understandable. The Book Reading and related activities were fun and I will most likely go back for more. This was their first event in a series for kids.

I ordered "Momma Goes Greek" and  it was NOT burnt. It was a great pizza, although I should have added chicken to it. This pizza comes with a very generous helping of artichoke hearts, so avoid if you're not and artichoke fan. The feta on it was also good.

I did not announce myself to Blake or the manager until after my pizza was made, so I think I received a pizza that had the no special treatment (but I can't be sure). I can say that the overall experience was positive and the pizza has definitely improved since they first opened. The staff, as always, is friendly and greets you as soon as you step through the door.

We also tried a desert "The Orpheum" (they describe it as: "A skillet baked cookie, with a big scoop of vanilla ice cream, covered with chocolate sauce, whipped cream and a cherry"). This was the best desert I have had in a long time. My wife and daughter enjoyed this as well.

Over all Joe Momma's did make a good impression on me this time. The main issue I had with them before was the burnt pizza, which I think they stopped doing.

Great place for pizza downtown... Wait, its the only place for pizza downtown. Decor is well done with a cozy warm atmosphere with music for the gen x crowd. Waitstaff is pretty average, but the pizza is great. Many different types of pizza including a cheeseburger pizza which sounds gross but is amazing. The beer prices are good and there are many TVs for watching the game. Not really set up for a sports bar atmosphere though. The wings are somewhat tasty for a non chain restaurant. A little small, but tasty nonetheless. The owner will probably swing by and say hi which is always a positive. He is a stand up guy in the downtown area. I receive their newsletter with specials and events for the month. If ur ever in the area, you wont be disappointed.

In town visiting friends.  Went here for a birthday dinner.  I live in NYC which may make me a bit of a restaurant snob.  This place rocks.  Amazing menu, unbelievable prices, top-notch food, great service, and an atmosphere to match.  I could see myself here a lot if I were a local.

Also a great beer tap selection and live music!

Downtown Tulsa is severely lacking in variety when it comes to food.  Almost everything is sandwiches and Mexican food.  Joe Momma's helps break that monotony by introducing pizza to the area!

Joe Momma's is a wonderful custom-pizza type place with lots of unique pies.  For example, my boyfriend usually gets the Natalie Portman ($12.95), which is sort of a Greek pizza that has feta and mozzarella cheese, peppers, tomatoes, black olives, and artichoke hearts.  This is just one of three or so vegetarian pies they serve, and there are plenty of options for meat eaters as well.

They also do pizza by the slice with pepperoni, cheese, and a daily special pizza, as well as sandwiches, salads, chicken wings and other appetizers, and desserts.

Prices are reasonable, the staff is great and helpful, and they are open 'til 3AM on the weekends!  I'm glad that their storefront is adding some character to downtown.  =)

Joe Momma's is a great downtown addition!

The pizza is wonderful, as well as the service!

Joe Momma's  pizza  definitely rivals Hideaway...
