Joe has been my insurance guy for the last year and I never experienced such phenomenal customer service. After a car accident left me distraught and disoriented in the middle of rush hour traffic on 19th Avenue I called Joe and he calmed me down. He walked me through all the steps I needed to go through, and when all was said and done he got me a nice settlement.
If you don't just want insurance, but want world class customer service and an agent with integrity and ethics, Joe Freund is your guy.

We all hate Property and Casualty insurance, but you've got to have it. Since you've got to have it, it's nice to be able to get a great service and a great product from someone who really cares about his clients.
Not only did Joe save me money, he improved my coverage and made a special note of making sure I had the best coverage I could get. In addition, he listened to little things I said regarding what was going on in my life and put me in touch with other friends of his who can provide advice and assistance.
I do not give personal referrals casually, but I highly recommend Joe as a professional provider with exceptional integrity. Those whom I have referred to him thus far have come back to thank me already.
I currently have State Farm insurance for our condo in SF, but I'm unhappy with my agent services. I contacted Joe after reading all your reviews, looking for an agent that would actually appreciate his clients.
Unfortunately, Joe was unable to take my business since it seems that one can't switch agents within the same insurance company or at least within State Farm - it surprised me - but I can appreciate his honesty and ethics. He was also very responsive and attentive.
I appreciate Joe Freund's expertise and professionalism, as well as the personalized attention I've gotten whenever I have a question or concern about auto or home insurance. He recently advised me in a delicate fender bender situation involving relatives(!) My mind is now at ease!
Joe is awesome. Talk about service! Not only will he come over to your home to figure out if you have too much or too little coverage -- he does this every year for an annual review! He takes a lot of time to explain your coverage and what you're getting. What you need and what you might not. He's great. He blows other insurance agents out of the water. We refer him to our clients all the time and they love him too!
I can't sing Joe's praises highly enough. I would recommend him and his staff without hesitation. I have all my lines of insurance with Joe and I could not feel safer.
Here's a little story to help illustrate just what an incredible agent (and friend!) he is. One day not so long ago, Joe was planning to go to a loan signing with me and my partner in Napa (first off, hello? who does that?) so that he could be sure every insurance issue we needed to be addressed at signing would be handled directly by him. Totally unrelated to the signing, earlier that morning, I locked my keys in my car. Oops. In about 10 minutes, Joe had a towing company there to help me. About 1 1/2 hours later, I met Joe to go to the signing and he had a check to reimburse me for the key incident. As I was waiting for him outside his office, someone backed into my passenger door - while Joe looked on. He got the information from the driver for me and began a claim process. Three insurance incidents in one day - all handled immediately and flawlessly by Joe.
I'm already trying to get this story into the State Farm commercial queue but, until then, this yelp review will have to do.
In short: if you want an insurance agent who will go the distance for you, Joe is THE man.
I totally trust Joe -- I think he's a really genuine person, super-duper on the ball and he gets things done!
As a small business owner, I had a lot of questions about insurance and liability, Joe walked me through every possible scenario and I was able to insure my business at such a a low price, it was hard to believe!
I also saved money switching from Mercury Insurance (AIS) to State Farm. . .I recommend him to all my friends!!

My family has been with State Farm Insurance for years and I grew up getting birthday and Christmas cards from our Agent, Gary.
When I moved to the city and became busy, I relied on the online people for insurance, mostly since they were cheaper. BIG MISTAKE. Customer service was always a drag, they were not that much cheaper, especially if you believe the old addage that time is money.
Finally, one day, I had the GREAT fortune of meeting Joe Freund, a State Farm agent right here in San Francisco. Joe got me to protect all of my belongings and possessions with Renters Insurance for less money a month than I might pay for a lunch special at my favorite thai place. It was something that I would have never thought to do even though it is something I need desperately as a San Francisco renter.
His office is snazy, his staff is even snazzier, and Joe is the Good Neighbor that State Farm truly stands for.

When I met Joe, there was no way I would think of using another insurance agent.
I had been a client of another insurance agency for years. I was never directed to meet an actual person, nor was I offered clarification of my policy at any time.
Joe was excited to meet with me and walked me through what his policy would include. He explained the differences in coverage and what would be suitable for myself and my business.
I ended up using Joe for business insurance and car insurance. Not only is he a complete pleasure to work with, he saved me money!!
I would recommend anyone who needs insurance or who wants to explore other options to call Joe.

Joe got me covered in no time without hassles or BS. He is thorough and honest, and goes out of his way to determine what you really need.
"Could you recover from that loss?" he asked. "Yes, I think so," I said. "Then you don't need that policy right now," he told me. "Let's focus on what you really need."
Joe is simply the most straightforward and cost effective insurance representative you'll ever know.

Never answers the phone. Always trying to sell me something. Just want my insurance and not to be sold things I will never need or use. State Farm is a great company, but he is a new agent and I would never recommend this guy.
100% professional and 200% personal.
I never had a relationship with my insurance rep. Its just one of those things I took care of online and over the phone. In the age of faceless call centers and coolly professional corporate companies Joe Freund is like that knowledgeable best friend that you wish you had. He'll figure your personal situation out and find the best policy in terms of price point and value that you can get. Highly reccomended.

Joe is the man. It's nice to work with someone who genuienly cares about your dreams and goals. Once you meet with him, it's immediately apparent that his heart is into helping others. You can tell. He sits down with you and maps everything out, then formulates the best strategy to move forward, given where you are in your life. His office is easy to find in Pacific Heights (at the corner of California and Divisadero). If you need insurance, you should definitely stop by for a visit. He does know his stuff. Like a good neighbor, Joe Freund is there. Highly recommended.

Joe and Ryan have insurance on LOCKDOWN! If you want quality, security, and a piece of mind, go with Joe and his wonderful staff.
Quick story: I get a letter from my current auto insurance that was down in SoCal (Southern California for those who have no idea what Socal is) and they wanted me to renew my policy. Because I live up here in NorCal (now you get it?), I needed to make sure my registration and auto insurance are on the same page. Instead of just renewing my same policy with them up here, which would be more than what I as currently paying, I decided to do some research like most people would do (or not).
Me, being a huge fan of Yelp, I check out what all ya'll have to say. I stumble upon Joe Freund State Farm Insurance, thank god. I call and talk to Ryan an insurance specialist, about what I want, and the possibility for more coverage especially in SF and if you drive in this mess, you know what I mean. More coverage, was only about $74 more than what I was currently paying. Ryan. crunches some numbers and, the price sounds great. I know, it's insurance, not that exciting, but necessary, and a great price.
I go in the next day to sign some paper work and Ryan welcomes me in, and shows me around the office to meet the rest staff. It's a comfortable office atmosphere. We sit down, go over what was discussed the prior day, and I am signed up. Joe came over, introduced himself, and welcomed me to the State Farm. I called my other insurance, and said, "Sorry, I decided to go with State Farm, better prices, and much more personal." It's all about customer service, plain and simple.
Keep up the great work!!
