    Yummy yummy yummy!

For american chinese food: Definitely a favorite of mine in Columbia. I always order the garlic chicken! Soo good. And the staff/owners are really nice. And they deliver. The crab rangoon is pretty good too!

They also have non american chinese food that I see and hear of people ordering I just never know what to order :)

Two stars -- three if you do takeout.

We went today, on Christmas, and the owners' kids were VERY loudly playing with an iPad app that, no lie, sounded like someone very loudly using the bathroom. Add to that that the service was rather lackluster and I don't see eating in again. But the food was definitely more than decent and I could see doing takeout.

I have tried this place 3 times, trying a different dish each time. The delivery time has always been longer than they tell you over phone. The food is poor and fried rice less than that. The only reason I gave two stars was cause of the to-go plasticwear!

So why have I gone back 2 times after my first try. I have no idea!!! Second time I guess I felt I could give them a do over, 3rd time I was talked into it..........Sorry New Jingo's. Long delivery is sometimes ok, but poor food 3 times, not so much.

This place is pretty good.  Not only do they have the regular american-chinese items, but they have a menu (the one with white paper) that is in all chinese, and so us non-chinese speakers can play menu-roulette and try something new.  One thing I can recommend is the chicken-cabbage-ginger sauce item, which is on the 'other' menu.  From the english menu, I would try spicy pepper-beef noodle soup.  Be careful, it's huge.  Another good item is an eggplant dish with vegetables and brown sauce.  Lastly, for the alt-rice-group, they have brown rice available, so that's always nice and different.

Other than that, keep an eye out for the owner's children, who are fun to be around; if business is slow that day, you might find them sleeping in a booth, or playing a video game on the t.v. at the front counter.

    They also deliver!

PS- They have a new menu, and the name of the restaurant on these new menus is:  "New Jingos", and I heard say that the ownership changed hands a while ago (at least a year or so, I think).  So take that into account when you read reviews.

Took over 2 hours to get our food (delivery) and they forgot one of the items... two star because the food was good.

Okay, so you may have to take everything I say in this review with a grain of salt because A) they were the ONLY place we found open after an hour of wandering around on New Year's Day and B) they were playing Spirited Away. I grew up on Hayao Miyazaki films, so I was super duper thrilled (read:distracted and ignoring friends) all through dinner.

That note aside, Jingo's was AWESOME! The space is a little small, but there are booths and round tables to accommodate larger groups. They have an open kitchen, so you get to see all the cooks making the food (sorta..maybe just their backs...)

The food was delicious. I had the shrimp chow mien, which was great. The flavor of chow mien can vary so much from place to place, so it was kinda like taking a leap of faith. Luckily, their chow mien was a body of water as opposed to a brick wall: flavorful without being a punch in the face.

My boyfriend got general Tao's chicken, which was really crunchy and had a little kick of spice to it, so I definitely recommend that dish too. A friend had also gotten an order of crab rangoon, which was also pretty good.

Lastly, the bill was pretty standard as far as Chinese sit-downs are; expect to spend somewhere between $10-$20 per person.

All in all, a solid Chinese restaurant that I look forward to visiting it again!

Quick review because this isn't my town.  Wandered around looking for a place the night of new years day, walked all the way down to a Chinese joint that turned out to be closed, came back and saw that Jingos was open.  And we ate food.  And it was glorious.

Some people's food was fair, I will admit.  Mine wasn't.  I steallthily and skillfully talked the table of ordering Crab Rangoon as a starter.  Good intentions: I we had been wandering for a half hour in the cold and we were HUNGRY, and a starter would come out fast.  Less honorable intentions: I wanted some but didn't want to have to pay for it all myself.  Turns out it worked out both ways, it was enough to share, and they were fab.

I had the General Tao's chicken.  It was the best Chinese food dish I'd ever gotten at any restaurant ever.  No exceptions, no exaggeration.  I like my food spicy, it was spicy without being overpowering.  The flavor was good, the rice was good.  Everything about my meal was satisfying, and this from a guy who doesn't Chinese food.

Jingos saved New Years, and my food was FAN-TAS-TIC

Words can't even begin to describe my love for Jingo's.

    Simply, I'm OBSESSED.

    Seriously obsessed.

Once I discovered Jingo's, I was there weekly. I didn't miss a beat unless I was out of town.

My meal of choice? Sesame chicken. Try it. You haven't eaten until you've had this.

    Heaven. On. Earth.

It got to a point where they would always smile and knew my order when I came in.

The staff is the sweetest family in the world. And their two little sons play in the dining room. They're the most adorable little kids ever! They always made me laugh.

Another amazing thing about Jingo's is that it's open late on the weekends. While everyone else is waiting in line on Broadway to eat at El Rancho (disgusting), my drunk self was cozily sitting in a booth, getting waited on and served food in a less-than crowded dining room.

And this place is SUCH a deal! Dinner special would be fried rice or white rice, your entree, plus crab rangoon or egg roll? For 8 bucks? Damn! Lunch is even cheaper!

This is what I'll miss the most about not living in Columbia anymore. Not Mizzou. Not my friends. Not the bars. JINGO'S.

This is my quick road trip review, before my CRS kicks in again. I had them deliver straight to my hotel off I70
It was great food, although the Lo Mein was greasy. Crab Rangoons were great, overflowing with crab & cheese, and served with duck sauce instead of that red scary crap. The Mu Shu pork was spicy but good, no rice, just a mixture of pork, black cloud ear mushrooms, and other veggies, the wraps were bagged & not so good, but the so so standard.
Price was right too, thank god. So tired of road trip, overly fried things, or unrecognizable grilled meats.

The best Chinese I have had in Columbia. NO MSG!!! I always got vegetarian dishes-the veggies are cooked perfectly-very crisp and fresh tasting. Jingos is were I learned to like tofu, it's crisp and firm. The veggie spring rolls are good and others who have joined me really liked their egg rolls, high quality chicken and lo mein dishes. They have a delicious hot mustard sauce as well.
Their lunch specials are too good to be true. It's about $6 for soup (egg drop or hot and sour) which comes with wonton noodles, 2 veggie spring rolls or 1 eggroll, fried or white rice and the main dish.
The service is always pretty fast and it's owned by the nicest family.
    Jingos also delivers for free.

    I'm torn with this rating...
I think I'll have to go back and try it again.
I had mu shu chicken and it was really good with shredded cabbage, mushrooms, chicken, bean sprouts and red chile.
The braised string beans had a little bit of onion and lots of red pepper.
I had an order of spring rolls, but they came after the meal for some reason and were a little disappointing.
Maybe I'll try them again for lunch one day.
The service was pleasant, but I think there may have been some miscues with the kitchen.

Perhaps I'm missing something. The reviews make it seem amazing, but I found it to be subpar. The food I ordered was super greasy and there wasn't anything special about it. The food at Formosa, down Broadway is far better.

Probably the best Asian food in Columbia. Very friendly staff, and an authentic menu if you're feeling adventurous! A must try restaurant!

Had dinner at this place last night and wanted to share the delightful experience I had. Logged into Yelp and....wow. This little town of Columbia does have its share of haters !!! Some of these reviews seem to be written by frustrated little losers.
First and foremost, the food is authentic Chinese. The typical American palate would not know real Chinese from PF Chang's or orange chicken or all that other usual crap that passes for Chinese. In fact, a review by a Chinese customer sent me to this place.
Second, the service is very friendly and caring. From checking on us, to serving a generous second bowl of rice, to making sure that our leftovers were packed properly, to the smiles throughout, our dining experience was certainly better than average.
Third, there are drawbacks, yes but nothing like what some of the other reviews allege. The food was a bit salty and one of the dishes could have been a little less oily. But in their defense it was fried fish!
Finally, a suggestion. If your dollars are seeking American Chinese please take them elsewhere. I think the people at Jingo's are a bunch of troopers. Daring to dish up genuinely flavorful and sometimes spicy Chinese food in the heartland. Please leave them alone.
