Review Highlights
On my trip to irving for work from seattle and held up in my hotel I got bored so I decided to venture out around las colinas area. After walking about a mile down the freeway, sweating in the heat, I decided to cross over to the other side of the freeway. Upon crossing I find a village of townhomes--streets and streets of cookie cutter townhomes and nothing really to do. That is when I stumbles across a fimiliar type of restaurant from seattle....japaneese hibatchi--oh yeah. I walked in and was greeted with a smile and offered either sushi side or Hibatchi side. After a small debate with myself I was off to the Hibatchi side. It is weirded being placed at a table with someone elses family and you are the odd one. The other family was pretty cool to hang with....Dad slipping the 18 year old some saki and the oldest daughter reclaiming her love of miller draught beer.
Being from seattle I have been to a couple of restaurants like this...I love a dinner and a show, To put things over the top I wandered in there during happy hour--$2 dollar house merlot that was actually extremely good.
After the great preparation and show off making our meal the chef dished out our food. The chicken was perfect, the rice so so tasty, the veggies were addicting, and to top it all off some great sauces.
I also had the softshell crab sushi roll and highly reconnmend it. So get your flop flops on and get out to jinbeh you will love it too

Wow! Great Service, Great Food, Great Prices. They give you lots and lots of food. I came out to this restaurant twice when I came out to Dallas.
Better atmosphere than Bennihanas. The first time I went I order the steak and lobster. The second time I ordered the shrimp and steak. Both are very deicious. The butter sauce is to die for! I am a big fan of butter so I was super happy.
Definately would go again if I go back!
I'm a big fan of this place. The food is delicious.
I've heard the parking sucks, but I don't care since I walk there from my office.
Very pleasant experience. I have been to multiple hibachi restaurants over the years, and and in my book, they are simply either good, or not - not much in between. Maybe it is because I don't frequent them too often. Anyway, I liked this restaurant. Small setting, locally owned, decent prices (about 20$ per person w/o alcohol (including the fried rice upcharge). Typical Hibachi show by a competent friendly chef. Good quality of food, and ample portions. My dinner companions enjoyed it too. Already on our list to return to in the future.
We had good sushi here, menu was also authentic. I learned from sushi chef that there were many Japanese biz people in the area years ago, and Japanese biz used this joint after golf outing. But now all Japanese biz left the town, the owner has changed, etc. Yet, I thought they still keep good Japanese tradition at this place, we liked it very much, far better than going to Benihana or fake sushi joint!
Went there on Valentine's Day, not to celebrate it, but to celebrate my boyfriend's birthday. We reserved the tatami room for 18 people. Satisfy with the room and no wait to get sit. Some restaurant still make us wait even when you reserved.
Our main server was totally not cool. He only popped out at the beginning and came back once in the blue moon, but other servers helped us.
The sushi was great though I think the rice needs bit more water. Uni was good and fresh. Entree menu was good.
I have worked a block away from Jinbeh for 2 years but never ventured in. From the window, it looked like a tiny hibachi restaurant. And, I hate hibachi restaurants.
But, this week, I was pressed for time to eat so decided to see what I could order to go. I was very surprised that there is another dining area that is not set up for hibachi dining. There is even your standard sushi bar you can eat at if dining solo.
I ordered my usual spicy tuna roll and decided to try the shrimp fried rice minus the egg. The total was around 9 bucks which was great.
I loved the spicy tuna roll as it was definitely a kicker in the taste buds. The roll was a good size for what you paid. The rice was yummy and not overly greasy. They cut corners a bit by giving you diced shrimp but who cares? I have now eaten there three days in a row.
I only did take out so no idea what their waitstaff is like. But, I will definitely keep coming back to Jinbeh.

Jinbeh is a very cool spot and the food is excellent! I went to Jinbeh for lunch on one of my random "I want to try something new" escapades, and trust me when I say I was not disappointed. I went with my sisters and cousin to eat the hibachi, and the food was nothing short of amazing! Parking was a little bit of an issue initially when we first arrived, but we found a parking garage nearby in a little shopping area eventually, which was great. The wait was not long at all, and we went on a Thursday, which made it alot easier , as traffic was lower. Overall I give Jinbeh an 4 out of 5!
Good but pricey. The fish is very fresh and the sashimi's always great. The squid salad is spectacular. Do get there a couple of hours before closing time. I made the mistake of showing up for dinner an hour before they closed, and the waitress was pretty rude and kept reminding us that the kitchen was about to close. After ordering, she then proceeded to bring everything at the same time, including the ice cream which of course had melted by the time we were through with the sushi. A couple arrived a few minutes after us, and we noticed the waitresses rolling their eyes and making faces at them. I mean, if they do not want to work until 10:00pm then they should close the restaurant earlier.
Other times I've been there have been pretty good experiences. The hibachi is entertaining but not different from other places as other reviewers have commented.

Great little sushi place in a bit of an office park. I was staying next door at the onmi and the staff all recommended this place. I was not disappointed. The sushi was very fresh and they had some very interesting specialty rolls. It was so good I brought one of my coworkers the next night. He was a bit skeptical that we could find fresh sushi in Texas, but after the sushi came he was a fan. Overall a great place that I will seek out again when I'm in town.

So this location is in a nice little area of Las Colinas - I'm still waiting for Las Colinas to have it's growth spurt. There just isn't much to do there right now...
There is also another Jinbeh in Lewisville. Compared to the Lewisville location, this one has WAY more windows - so if you live between the two, come to this one during the day and to the lewisville location at night. (the Lewisville restaurant barely has any windows and is lit nicely) - oh and the las colinas restaurant is also bigger jsyk.
The food at both restaurants has been consistently delicious and fresh. YUM.

I've gone to this place for almost 10 years since it's my mothers favourite restaurant.
It's just Benihana with a non-chain name.
Not really special or unique and it is overpriced.
If you like tea rooms, they are very nice as compared to the extremely cramped and dull grill tables.

I stayed at the Omni for business and this place is right next door so it was convenient to pick up food if I didn't feel like going out to eat. The fish is fresh tasting and it looks like a cute place for a casual date.
A bit expensive but delicious. The staff was very good with our toddler, which is not always the case at sushi restaurants.
took mom here last night for her bday. the food is sooooooo GREAT. spent 130 bucks on 3 people to eat the hibachi and have a glass of wine; but in my opinion, it was well worth the excursion once i look back on it

I've been to Jinbeh in Las Colinas and in Lewisville and not being a big fan of tappanyaki, this location is definitely the better of the two. The sushi is always fresh and the selection is by far better than the Lewisville location since it caters more toward their Japanese patrons. They also offer a good variety of cooked foods that are not very common. Just ask for the specials menu.
i give this place 5 stars cuz the company, and the hibachi chef was pretty good...but ashley is right its nothing different from a benihana or bluefish
