Jim's gets an extra star for longevity. A north Denver staple that hasn't changed the decor, the recipe, or the fryer oil since the mid 80s. Like the Wishbone and Los Arcos, you just have to eat at Jim's every now and then if you live in the north valley.

Jim's won't likely get a vote for best burger, but it's a solid lunch on a huge bun. The sausage sandwich is also a favorite. Start your diet tomorrow and have a shake as well.

I'm having a hard time understanding the hype for this burger joint.

The patties are anemically thin (possible the frozen variety) and didn't have much meaty flavor. Personally I rather go to Wendy's for about the same price.

This is your simple, basic burger joint.  Hamburgers, cheeseburgers, hot dogs, onion rings and, of course, malts.

One of the big selling points of this place is that they have 6" hamburgers.  They aren't lying, these puppies are double-fisters for sure.  That said, here's a little piece of advice: order the 4" instead.  To make the burger 6" in diameter they have to make it pretty thin, leaving an unfortunate bun-to-burger ratio.  I recommend passing on the 6" burger and getting a 4" double-meat burger instead.

The onion rings are top notch, and the chocolate malt is fantastic.  Oh, and the place is super-cheap: I paid $11 for a meal for two.

The decor is classic: neon, vinyl seats, the whole shebang.  The place has a hint of that 50's diner charm, but without taking it to the extreme (like Guenther Toody's does).

All in all, a good burger, a great malt, and an enjoyable experience.

Old school burger joint --- basic burgers, fries, milkshakes, chicken sandwiches, and kids meals that come in cardboard cars!  You can't beat it for the price and ambiance if that's what you're looking for.  This is nothing fancy - it's order up at the counter, pump your own mustard and ketchup into little containers and wait for your meal to be served up.
Their burgers come in two flattened out size... they are not thick.  The crispy chicken sandwiches are just that - crispy, yet juicy inside.

Need a burger that is old school and will fill ya up enough you wont be snackin an hour later?  Then Jims is right up your alley. This place is a throw back to days gone bye...I really like the burger with the slice of ham, and the pork sandwiches...and if you are calorie counting..bring your calculater...this aint no south beach diet meal..
Im sure you will find something for the whole family...just dont tell your cardiologist you were there...

I heart hamburger spots that have been around forever.  I love the grease, the malts, the old booths, and onion rings.  This place does not disappoint.

If you're looking for a burger, theirs come in 4" and 6".  No, the pun is not lost on them.  They have stickers which state something along the lines of "Jim's, where 6" is big."  Indeed.  If burgers aren't your thing, they also serve hotdogs, pork tenderloin sandwiches, Italian sausage sandwiches, and grilled cheese.  All come with your choice of toppings.  Personally I think onions, pickles, and mustard are all you need, but the occasional jalapeno is nice, as well.

If you're looking for a wide variety of malts, shakes, or floats, roll in here.  I decided to forgo a malted, although I was tempted.  I'm a staunch believer in the chocolate malted, but banana or butterscotch were tempting.

I'm always basing my "where to get a burger" decisions on the availability of onion rings.  I am happy to report that you can find decent ones here.  Not fresh made, but almost as good.

Finally, I love all of the pictures of "classic cars" on the walls.  I'm happy to report that my 1979 corvette is represented here...now I just have to find it in three-dimensional reality.

This was a fun place! It is a good old fashioned burger joint that is authentic and not one bit fancy. I had a burner with onion rings. Both were very tasty and well done. Highly recommended for those looking for a good quick mean in the area.

Now this is what I call "Good old fashion grease gone good!". I'm not one to order a burger everywhere I go, but when I do I'm disappointed in comparison to what Jim's Burger Haven brings to the table. Maybe I'm bias because I grew up going here. All I know is that I continue come back. I think you'll like it, give it a try!
