Another American meal, in D.C., surprise, surprise, but this one was super...the best comped meal of my life in fact.  The place had a classic old boy's vibe. The salad with jicama and peppercorns was delicious, as was the tuna tartare - which tasted fresh off the boat. The surf and turf was perfect - I loved my filet, which had a rich smoked flavor to it. Drawn butter enhances everything of course. Also notable was the creamed spinach, and bread pudding dessert; and the wine pairing was delectable. This meal took four hours of intense eating enjoyment. Caution - had I paid for the meal, I would have spent $150, and may have been pickier.
