I am tickled pink--they were able to fix a faded old peasant style dress that probably cost me $10 but which I *LOVED*, goshdarnit. All the spandex thread had worn out, losing the dress' contour, but they were able to sew in new elastic thread and voila! Yay!! Also, 10% off if you pay in cash or check.

I've always had a good experience at Jimmie's Reweaving - for many years. All that changed this morning, when the establishment which is supposed to open at 8am (according to the sign next to the door) is still not open at 8:22 am!

Another waiting customer explained that there's new ownership. I am very sad to hear that!

    Proceed with caution!

First time, alterations were not ready at time promised. Second visit, they cut the arms off a shirt that only the cuffs were to be moved up a quarter inch. Spoke with George, i guess the owner, he explained people don't like to hear how long alterations take so they basically tell the customer whatever time they think the customer wants to hear. Also, that they are using a new computerized system and the girls up front don't know it yet, hence the mistake on the sleeves being chopped. I said I would make them get to know it or find new help, he said not likely one is my wife. So basically, you have a guy, in semi retirement living off his past success and letting his business go in the toilet. This was once a good place for alterations, sadly, not anymore

Similar experience to the previous reviewer.  Dropped off 2 sweaters for repairs/reweaving.  Was told they would be ready in about 10 days, after 4pm (they close at 5) on a Friday.  Showed up at 4:45 on the day they were to be ready.  They weren't.  Was offered the excuse of "One of people was out this week".  Didn't get a phone call, nor an apology.  They acted surprised I wanted my items the day they were promised.  The staff at the front counter were disinterested, didn't offer any kind of discount or apology for my inconvenience.  It's big city with lots of options for repairs and alterations - I'll be looking for another.

I drove by, and turned around to check it out. I am glad I did, very professional. Yeah, it looks beat down from the outside but by the Land Rovers, River Oaks dowagers and upscale clientele I could tell they were doing a great job. I had two suits done and they went in looking off the rack and came out looking like Tom Ford got his mitts on them!!
