We drove in to Tahoe CIty from Richland, WA after about 14 hours on the road.  I would have been satisfied with Road Kill, but was glad that we were able to find this place.  And when I say find I mean find - some lights would have been nice.  The parking lot watch pitch black and we actually went around the shopping strip mall area to figure out where the door was.

The food ended up being very good, and we tried just about everything: pizza, hot wings, salad, etc.  But when the bill came I felt like road kill.  For the price I paid, I could have had the all you can eat seafood buffet at Boomtown.  Yikes!!

It's not the best pizza you'll ever have and it's not the worst.

It's the price that'll grab you. (Very affordable - a saving grace in North Lake.)

We were starving for some lunch during a long workday in town and we were really jonesing for some pizza. Front Street wants $25 of my hard-earned cash for a tiny "specialty" pizza, and they can't have it. Jiffy's only wants about $15. Sold.

It was around 1 p.m. on a Sunday, and we were able to call in the order and go pick it up in fifteen minutes (we work next door). It was half the price Front Street would have charged us.

As for the pizza itself: thin-crust indeed. SLATHERED in cheese. They don't have a lot of "unique" topping options, but again...basic pizza place at an affordable price. They gave us plenty of crushed red pepper and parmesan cheese.

They need to update their website, though. Their directions state that they are located by two businesses that closed in Tahoe City YEARS ago. (But, the prices were the same - they win another star for not jacking up prices over the years.)

And it really helped my July 4th hangover. Trust.

I was surprised by how good the pizza was at Jiffy's. I wasn't expecting much since most of the other pizza I've had in Tahoe has been so-so at best. Crust on the thin side (as I like it - being from the east coast).

If you plan to eat in, bring your own adult beverages because they don't sell alcohol. I just walked over to Savemart and picked up a six pack while they cooked our pizza. The crew in back were totally psyched when I gave them the extra beers as a tip.

Oh, and as a side note. I recognized a bunch of the staff as ski and snowboard instructors from Alpine Meadows. Which just reinforces the old joke about the difference between a large pizza and a ski instructor. "A large pizza can feed a family of four."

Given that this seems to be the only game in town, we were limited in our pizza delivery options in North Lake. Ordered at 8pm and they told us it would take 1.5 hours..we laughed and said, no thank you. The guy on the phone said- wait! We'll deliver in an hour, is that cool? Starving and lazy, we acquiesced.  Delivery took about 70 minutes (yes, we were watching the clock). Pizza was more on the thin-crust side which was fine by me (I liked it), but my companions were less than thrilled..I think they were looking for something more filling. Breadsticks were super buttery, and the tomato sauce was cold. I ordered a salad as well...it was an the type of salad that makes you embarrassed to be an american (iceberg, tomato wedge with a couple other sad extras in a small plastic container). Perhaps I was the dumb one for considering ordering a salad from a delivery pizza place. But, hey it is Tahoe, thought I'd get some cali love.

I wouldn't recommend ordering from here unless you have to...

When your blood sugar is low and you need something in your system, this pizza hits the spot.  Even if it was loaded with meat and all that fatty stuff.

It would be much more enjoyable to eat the box the pizza comes in at this joint. Not very good at all.

Seems there have been some bad delivery experiences with Jiffy's.  I've been there 3 times, and ate in each time.  I have to say, having a captive market, the pizza is better than it should be.  In fact, I'll go so far as to say it's quite good.

It may be a basic pie as far as toppings go, but you know what, I just looked at Cali Pizza Kitchen's web site, and you couldn't pay me enough to eat the thing on their home page.  The basics are fine with me, especially when they're done well - Jiffy's did it well all 3 times I've been there.

When I'm in Tahoe City, Jiffy's is where I'm going for 'za.

To be fair delivery was quick (only 30 minutes or so). The pizza itself was ok in terms of taste but the price was way way too high. We spent $37 on a medium thin (which was more like a small pizza), a kid's personal pizza and an order of buffalo wings. The wings were horrible! They were very tiny and very dried-out. It was like eating parts of a belt baked in the oven for 8 hours.

AVOID THIS FRAUDULENT BUSINESS!  Highly recommend against ordering delivery from this place.  It took them 2.5 hours to deliver my pizza.  When I told them I wasn't going to pay for it, the delivery guy gave it to me and walked away.  They proceeded to charge my credit card without my authorization AND give themselves a $3 tip!  Now the owner is giving me the runaround and hasn't reversed the charge on my credit card.
