Neighborhood: Manhattan/East VillageThee best sushi and saki I've ever had. Hands down. Granted I only eat vegetarian rolls and it is hard for someone to screw that up, but the rice was perfect, the avocado, pickled radish excellent. They had attentive and concerned chefs and waiters and a nice inventive variety for vegetarians. The freshest tasting produce and ingredients. I saw the presentations of other raw plates and the satisfied faces of the people who ordered them. Plus their business cards are just little squares. How could you not like a place with cute business cards after all? Seemed expensive for people eating the real thing, but my saki definitely cost more than my meal.
I think their main location was reviewed on an episode of Bizzare Foods with Andrew Zimmer when he had Anthony Bordain as a guest on his show.

This sister restaurant to Jewel Bako also has amazing fish. One of my least favorite sushi offerings is sea urchin, but here, the fresh sea urchin from Santa Barbara was of the heavenlyist of quality. It was delish and that's saying a lot. The last time I had sea urchin, I threw up! The sushi and rolls here were fantastic. Definitely sit at the bar and watch the sushi chefs work. It's amazing!
