I used to live right around the corner from here and have stumbled home many a nights.

I know live a mile away and happily cab there!

Drinks are effective and reasonable. The food is great, typical greasy bar food.

I have had a few parties here and everyone is helpful down to the bouncer at the door!

Jet's, what happened to you, brother?

Time was I couldn't envision regularly frequenting any other bar in the area. Sure, half of the reason was that there aren't many good alternatives, but Jet's had it all right there for me. Familiar faces from the neighborhood, Miller Lite on tap for two bucks, delicious burgers and a jukebox where I could abuse Appetite for Destruction in its entirety.

Jet's is that old friend you've fallen off with, and when you finally get together again you realize why the friendship started fading in the first place.

It began with $2 Miller Lite drafts that vanished, temporarily returned, then vanished for good.  Strike one.

The old jukebox is gone as well.  In its place stands a new digital box that not only costs more but may or may not play your song by the time the night is over.  All it takes to ruin your night is one drunken asshole burying $20 into the machine and hitting "play it next" a bunch of times. Strike two.

Now, those delicious burgers I mentioned in my old review are a memory as well.  I went to Jet's for lunch last week and was shocked to receive a dry and thin patty sandwiched between too much toasted bread.   Strike three!

I kept trying to give Jet's chances in recent times, returning there on occasion to rekindle the old magic of the joint. But I guess I've long outgrown it. And you know, it isn't just because of the Miller Lite or just because of the jukebox. Those are tangible things I can point toward that stacked up and led to a little disappointment. It's the intangible I'm having trouble with. Maybe I'm just older. Maybe the crowd changed. Whatever it is, it just ain't what it used to be.

This palce is theplace you go on a Friday night or for a game when you just want to hang with your buds and not be bothered.  The food is tasty, the people are nice and I particularly like the fried macaroni and cheese that I cant seem to find anywhere.

This place is two blocks from my house (no driving after this place!) so I stopped in.  Let's just say I've spent evenings here that I can barely remember.

Josh is a nice guy and unfortunately I don't know the bouncer's name but he is also a big sweetheart.

I was very sad to see the Rusty Armadillo go though. I'm not sure what happened.

The chips and salsa are 2 bucks and worth 10. Awesome!

I stopped by this place a few times after work at the suggestion of a friend. It turned out to be a nice surprise.

The crowd I've witnessed is a mix of young 20 to 40-somethings. And since there are a couple other bars nearby this place can, and does, get a sizable crowd. Even on a late Sunday night. They have a good amount of HDTV's if you want to come here to watch a game.

The staff is great and the bartender is awesome and answered all my questions I had to ask. Even when he's busy with a full house, he still manages to take care of you in a timely fashion. I've only had the appetizers but they were on par with what bar food should be, so I have no complaints there. And they have great specials just about every night of the week, so those with limited funds can still drink it up.

I think this is one of the better bars in this far out part of the city. And since it is just northwest of my place, I definitely will be back.

I grew up in the neighborhood and remember dragging my dad out of there when it was Wally's Polish Pump Room. Good Times....I was surprised to find a more "Wicker Park" feeling bar in the old neighborhood. I think they did a fantastic job with the place and the audio/video is great for catching a game and downing a brew and sandwich. Burgers are good but only a little over average. the staff seems friendly and the place is clean, a big plus for me. I'll definately be back for the specials when I see a place to park.

I don't know how my friends found this place, but I'm glad they did. Thursday nights are $3 bombs, $2 Miller bottles. I do not like Miller, I'm totally allergic to crappy beer; however, the bombs are cheap and include every bomb (yay, car bombs!) The food looks good, but I've never had it, and their beer selection is pretty good. It's a nice laid back bar but seems a little out of place in the area but for cheap booze I'm not raising any other complaints.

If you go on a Wednesday night they have $2 Guinness and a $3 burger.  Cant complain about the $2 Guinness, and the $3 burger is just that - a decent $3 burger.  While it is a far cry better than what you could buy for $3 at McDonalds, I cant say I would pay more for it on a non-special night.  Decent for what it is.

Jet's is a little off my beaten path, not to mention in the land of Places You Used to Go With Your Ex-Boyfriend, but hey, this is more my kind of place than his -- Filonek's is across the street.

Why do I love this place so much? It's a typical neighborhood bar with a touch of class. There are more twentysomethings here than dirty old men -- again, see Filonek's. The bar is beautiful, the tables can easily be pushed together for big groups, and they have outdoor seating in the summer. No pool table, but there are enough flat screen TVs and dart boards to keep yourself entertained.

I take people here for the specials, and yes, there are specials every day of the week. Monday is $2 domestic bottles, $2 well drinks, and half price appetizers. Appetizers are normally around $5. So you like vodka, your friend likes beer, and you're hungry. Where to go? We've walked out full and pleasantly buzzed for under $20 several times. The food is delicious -- I would suggest the chicken fingers with buffalo sauce and waffle fries, as well as the spinach artichoke dip.

Wednesday is my second favorite night, $2 glasses of wine. Friday, $4 appletinis. I've never been to their Sunday brunch, but I hear it's great.

They have a decent jukebox, but they usually have their own playlists hooked up on weekdays (and if that means your boyfriend doesn't get to play "I Love This Bar" for the 10,000,000th time, this is good!). The staff is friendly and amusing -- one guy is a little spacey, he's probably waited on me 10 times and still looks at me like he's never seen me before and asks for my ID. The owner Mike is usually hanging out somewhere or behind the bar, nice guy.

So if you're ever in the suburbs, oops I mean Norwood Park, stop in for some cheap food and drinks. If there's nowhere to park on Milwaukee, you can park for free in the Liberty Bank lot just up the block.

I went here on the advice of a friend of mine who was out of her mind. She claimed that the Burgers here ranked up with Kuma's? What was she smoking?
Jet's is an Oasis in the Baron desert that is known as Norwood park. The interior is nice, the food is decent, but the burger was not on the same planet as Kuma's. Not that I'm complaining about a $3 burger and a $2 pint of Guinness.
On the merit of the food, I give it three stars. I take one star away for the fact that whomever did the scheduling that night was incompetent. What knucklehead bar manager only has one person working on Black Wednesday. The day before Thanksgiving is one of the busiest drinking days of the year.
I'm giving one star back for the one guy who was working. He did a kick ass job. He handled a full bar and about a dozen tables with ease. Even though he was swamped, he was courteous and fast. He deserves a raise.
Jet's is a decent place to watch a ballgame and enjoy some decent bar food. Since it's the only decent place in Norwood park, we will definitely go back.

This is a very nice local bar. I had the burger and it was very good.  The burger was cooked just right. Very good flavor. It was a Sunday night, so it was pretty quiet inside the bar. Friendly people.

The bar is filled with nice HDTV's and this time it seemed they were actually showing an HD signal.  Half the time you go into places that have widescreen TVs and they are showing regular stretched TV signals. Thumbs up to the person who runs this place!

I will be returning again.

I've only been to Jet's once, but I'll definitely go back. A friend and I stopped in during a weeknight and were very impressed. The bartender was friendly and answered some questions that we had patiently, even though he was really busy. The food was very good. We both had a barbecue cheeseburger. The burgers have different side options, which included tater tots. That was great! How often as an adult do you get tater tots as a side dish choice?!? My friend said that it was one of the best burgers she's ever had at a restaurant and I would agree. Plus, the decor and atmosphere at Jet's is good too. It's definitely the best bar in the neighborhood

We went here after we closed out The Rusty Armadillo and it was a very nice place.  Not the typical joint for this neighborhood and I had to keep reminding myself I was in Jefferson Park and not Uptown where I used to live...great ratio for single girls if you are looking for a date.  Drinks are very reasonable and the night I was there it was packed.  I will definitely go back here when I need a place to wet my whistle.
