I can't believe it's taken me this long to write a review.  Back in 2006, my usual stylist moved away and I was desperate to find a new salon.  Plus, I was having one of those "I need a completely new look" kind of moments.  I found Jet Rhys online and called to ask who can cut a fabulous bob.  The girl they wanted to set me up with didn't have any appts in the near future, so they recommended Melissa (Level 1 at the time).

Wow.  That girl can cut hair!  I went back to her for another 3 years until I moved away!  One of the problems with a short cut is that it requires more frequent maintenance to look good.  I don't know how she does it, but Melissa is the only person who has cut my hair and I could wait 2.5-3 months between cuts.  That's CRAZY!!  Especially for a wedge cut in the back!  But it was awesome for my budget and endeared me to Melissa :)  She really listened to me also, which was great when I wanted to start growing out my hair.  I trusted her completely when she said she needed to cut it a certain way to ensure it would grow out properly.  Yup.  She was right.

I did have a neighbor go to her to get a cut like mine.  Melissa warned her against it because her hair texture was very different than mine (I have fine, straight and hers was coarse, wavy).  My neighbor wanted to try it anyway and it didn't turn out the way she wanted and I don't think she went back.

I did get my hair highlighted a few times before I moved and was VERY pleased with the results.  My only complaint was for my first color, my stylist spent more time away from my hair than with it.

Parking can be a pain.  I generally tried to make appts close to 4 or 5, so I could pay for 2 hours and then not worry about when it hit 6pm.  Or I would park 4-5 blocks away in some of the unmetered zones further south.  Or I would pick appt times early in the am when no one was around and I parked right in front of the salon and could run out and slap a few quarters in if time was getting short.  After a few cuts, I could get in and out in about an hour.  The first few cuts took longer.  And a color and cut would definitely take AT LEAST 2 hours- generally longer.

I liked the people who worked the front desk and I loved Melissa.  Part of finding a great salon is finding a stylist you click with.  I definitely recommend trying a Level 1 stylist.  Their prices are better ($50-55 for a cut) and I definitely felt well taken care of.  HIGHLY recommend :)

"I want a Pete Townsend, post-Detours, pre-High Numbers with a bit of a Weller sideburn c. 1979, with a bit of Gallagher Brothers Dig Out Your Soul at the back." Melissa at Jet Rhys understands this, and like da Vinci uses all of the tools at her disposal to create an understated yet compelling masterpiece barnet. These amazing cuts draw attention wherever I go, be it at an Oasis concert or Pizza Uno.

I am not sure whether the Melissa referenced earlier is the same artist--and I use the term quite literally--as the Melissa I know. However, this Melissa has saved my wife and I the time and fuel to Orange County to get our hair done. Jet Rhys is spectacular, best in the city--best in the county!

I've been going to Josie (cut) and Trisha (color) for about 2 years now.   My super-straight hair finally has a cut that:
A- I like
B- is not fighting against gravity
C - I do not need to plaster in place with hairspray to achieve "style"

Yay!  I'm a definite fan of both Josie and Trisha and I'd never dream of changing stylists after finding these two!  They are so friendly and just great people!  I think the best endorsement for them is that I get compliments on my cut and color from perfect strangers - the work speaks for itself.  Great job ladies!

The overall rating here should be 5 stars as Jet Rhys is the best hair Salon in San Diego!
Melissa... AKA:  Goddess of hair.  You rock my world!  Seriously, I receive compliments almost daily from perfect strangers who LOVE the style.  Thank you!  The continuous boost in confidence is life changing.

I've always taken pride in my hair.  What woman doesn't.  When I read the articles on Jet Rhys salon, I thought I couldn't go wrong.  My hair was below my shoulders, thick and beautifully curly.  That was a year ago and I'm still paying with a haircut gone horribly wrong.

I had Christina who is perky and effervescent and said she knew exactly what to do with my hair.  She told me that she is the senior stylist and used to work for Vidal Sassoon in New York.  Well, that seemed trustworthy. I was trying to go for a more professional look and her enthusiasm was convincing.  I mistakenly trusted her.

After witnessing the first chunks of hair drop helplessly off my head, I was in shock and knew something wasn't right.  I asked her for a certain type of cut for my hair and she proceeded to "school" me on clipping techniques that snip into the hair instead of a straight cut which "shouldn't be done on my type of hair."  I mean, what do I know?  I've only had my hair for the past 30 years.

To make a short story long, she clipped it to death and gave me a mullet.  A $120 mullet.  My husband, kids and friends were moritfied.

I went back to the salon to have her fix the uneven clumps on both sides and was relieved to see the owner there (either Jet or Rhys, not too familiar with names)  I was hoping she would see my frustration and help me.  But no.  Christine tried to fix it, but made things much worse.  That was on my birthday, December 1st 2008.  Almost a year later and it's finally starting looking normal.  It's now above my shoulders and the mullet choppy garbage is gone.

If you love your hair...BEWARE!!!!

I've lived in SD for about five years but the first three years or so were spent bouncing around from hair salon to hair salon because I never really felt satisfied with my hair cuts.  So I'm not really someone who has a "stylist" but I have gotten such consistently awesome haircuts from JOSIE for the last year and a half that I can't really think of going to anyone else now.  Josie is really good about listening to what I'm looking for (---um bangs... ---umm something different but easy to manage...  ---umm I'm ready to chop off 14 inches to donate...) and translating it into a really cute haircut.  She's very meticulous and I really think it shows in the way your hair looks and the fact that her cuts grow out really well.  And she's really a very pleasant person!  The only down side is that it's a bit pricey ($65).  If you refer someone you get your next cut for 20% off...luckily for me though people usually ask me where I get my hair done and so most of my hair cuts have been at the referral discount and that's just by friends saying they like my hair.

Rave reviews for Aubrey (color) and Dani (cut) ..this is my VERY first review on Yelp, which just goes to show how much I love this salon. I've tried a few other places in San Diego...not only do I now have the best cut & color I've ever had, but I wish I'd gone to Jet Rhys a WHOLE lot sooner!

The parking is metered but they do METER SERVICE for you if you run out of time!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Someone offers (happily) to refill your meter. My head was in the sink when I realized I ran out of time. The girl who was washing my hair was happy to call someone over and have them refill my meter. She also eased my stress about going over by an hour on the meter with a fabulous scalp massage. I've personally never experienced service like that at ANY salon. Ever. Shout out to the gal with the dark hair/pixie cut! I apologize for not remembering your name! You rock!

Dani greeted me when I first arrived and proceeded to look at the photos I brought (I'm really picky about my bangs....long face.... need bangs!)  She and I hit it off right off the bat. She is extremely outgoing, intelligent, and talented at what she does. I've honestly never had such a flattering haircut! And all the while she was making great, fun conversation.

Dani explained to Aubrey what she was doing and what I requested in terms of color.  This was 'uge. I was going from 29 years of blonde to dark brown. This was ultimately why I came to Jet Rhys....I had a feeling they would do this big change right!  Once I was in Aubrey's hands, she asked me several poignant questions to make sure that I was prepared to no longer be a blonde.  I was so impressed by her knowledge of the transition (she did not take it lightly)!!!
Aubrey was an amazing conversationalist and colorist!! I felt comfortable the entire time even though it was my first appointment at Jet Rhys. I was completely confident in the abilities of Dani and Aubrey and I was excited to see the result of their efforts!

The result????? Dead, limp, coarse, blonde transformed into swishy, shiny merlot brunette!

I could NOT be happier! BIG FAT KUDOS to Aubrey, Dani, and all of the employees at Jet Rhys. See you guys again soon. :)

Don't buy into all the Marketing BS!!  If I could give it zero stars I would.

I went to this salon about 10 months ago because of a mention in a fashion magazine and was just now prompted to write this review because I saw this salon mentioned in this month's Instyle magazine.   BEWARE - they are better marketers than hair stylists!!!

I came in with a thick long mane of hair (pretty much one length) that needed to be shaped up with a few layers and left with a mullet, a la Christina.  It first, I thought it was just me and perhaps a resistance to change, but when some female colleagues "joked" with me that if I let them cut "the stringy tail off in the back", that I'd have a nice hair cut, I knew it wasn't just me.

I was told that Christina was an instructor at Vidal Sassoon.  Shortly after the haircut, I was in NYC on business and happened to be walking past the Vidal Sassoon Salon.  I was able to talk with a stylist and was actually told that this was a very bad, uneven haircut and that this was a typical mistake that new hair stylists make.  It was recommended that I either go short, or cut the length (stringy tail) and soften the uneven cuts (one side was much shorter than the other) until it could grow out and be evened out over time.  I didn't want to accept this, and waited until I could go to my guy up in LA.

When I went to my guy in LA, the first thing he said was WOW new look?  I told him that I was coming to him to change it.  Unprompted, he actually asked me if I wanted to keep THE MULLET!  I had to accept that I needed to whack off the length and am still growing my hair out to get to where it was before Christina.

I've learned my lesson, never to trust a magazine for a hair stylist recommendation.  I've never written review before, but I just hate to know that some other gal might get suckered into thinking this is a higher caliber salon it is not.  This is a salon that knows how to market them selves, nothing more.

I was completely in love with the haircut and color I got from the place the first time I came here. Also, the little scalp massage they do when you get your hair shampooed is almost too good.

Unfortunately, I just seemed to be less satisfied with the way my hair turned out after each return visit. Maybe it was the fact that it takes them an hour just to blow-dry my hair after obsessing over every strand or ignoring the pictures I would bring in, and winding up with something completely different as opposed to just finding something that fits my hair and face...

They're good, but I can be picky when paying $75 for a haircut.

Honestly-
Do not believe the hype!!!  The services are spotty and they hire fresh outta school. I had to be done over, which is not good and then they left hair dye all over my forehead so that I went back to work my colleagues
had a laugh.  I went back the following morning and they were unprofessional.
This place is not worth the money. Go elsewhere. Too good of a publicist is a bad sign.

I feel bad for writing this, but...

My roomate gets her haircut here by Hasheem. She has a nice short cut that suits her. After taking out my extensions, I decided to try out Hasheem as well since I would get a discount and she would too since she refered me.

My hair was really yucky when I went in. The ends were really thin and I was still growing out a mushroom room cut a prior stylist had given me. Also, my bangs were growing out and they were to my nose finally.

I told him to do what he felt was needed to make my hair look healthy and good again. I also said I wanted something easy, and I had trouble styling my bangs. He told me what he was gonna do and I was good with it. However, he cut my bangs super short! What on earth! I said I had trouble styling my bangs and he cuts them off? Man, they were so short. Also, there were too many layers and some parts were a bit crooked. Not the shaggy layers kinda crooked, but it looked really uneven in one area. Too much hair was chopped off in the one small area.

So when I left I was disappointed. My bangs were so hard to style afterward. We did not agree to bangs that went across my forhead kind of short.

Skip this place.

Not only is Aubrey incredibly engaging to talk to, she is a fantastic colorist!!! It makes the time go by fast.

Dani cuts my hair and does a nice quick job although I have a fairly simple cut.

Depending on which assistant you get, the massages can vary.  Alex gives a nice firm neck massage.... I only wished that it was longer :)

Overall, a great salon without the snobbiness of other places such as Dearinger.

I like Jet Rhys a lot, and I make the drive from North County every so often.  I like to come to this place if I'm in a style rut and want someone to do something different with my hair.  I think the stylists here are a bit more cutting edge and willing to be more creative, and I really enjoy playing and changing my look.

As with all salons, the key is to find someone that you like.  Not all stylists at ANY salon is going to be compatible.  However, I tend to be adventurous and have tried a different stylist each time.  For the most part, I have been very happy with the end result.  One thing about this place is that a stylist only does cuts, and colorists only do color- so you can't expect your stylist to do both.

I don't bother with getting my hair colored here since I prefer punky colors and they don't have a good selection- so I can't comment about their color service.

This is, to a degree- a teaching salon where there are experience levels with the colorists/stylists.  The more experience, the more expensive.  I've chosen stylist level 3 and 4 for the most part and been happy.

That said, this is not the most relaxing salon- it's very, very busy place.  Chances are, someone will wash your hair, then someone else will cut/style.  If your hair is long, someone else may do the bulk of the blow-drying.  So, if you prefer your stylist to be with you from beginning to end, this place is not for you (I don't care, so this does not bother me).  In terms of the staff, I've found the staff to all be very sweet and friendly.

Well Yelpers, I have to admit my first review was a little harsh, but I was pretty upset by feeling like i had to argue my way with the salon coordinator for a complimentary redo.

That being set aside, since then, my vibe on Jet Rys has definitely changed. I went back in, and was totally satisfied with my redo. My colorist really listened and made sure it was exactly what I wanted, and when I walked out, it definitely was!

I went back in today for a color condition treatment, (i forget the proper name), and left really happy with the way it brought out my color.

I was greeted by Jet today, and she is super sweet. All the girls that work there that have worked on me are all totally cool, and make you feel really comfortable. They try to get to know you, which i like, especially when you are usually in a salon for an hour or more at a time.

I love that they are all very knowledgeable on products and styling etc. When one of the assistants was doing my hair, I picked up some great blow-drying tips from her, you can tell everyone there has a passion for what they do. It doesn't sound sale-sy at all like some salons, just knowledge and love for what they do.

Overall, yes I would go back for color for sure, but maybe not cut, just because i don't love dishing out $75 on a cut, since i usually just get the same trim.Love the products there. I'm not huge on having 3 different assistants work on me, but they were busy so it didn't really bother me. Parking can be a pain, but meter parking is only a couple of bucks, and the sushi restaurant across the street is awesome!

p.s. Wine would be nice, but maybe i was just spoiled from my old salon. :-)

I had my first haircut here back in 2004, by Rogina, and LOVED IT. Best short, spiky haircut ever. Honestly, I got tons of compliments on that cut.

LOVE Bumble & Bumble because of Rogina. Sumo Tech + Gentle + Super Rich = GREAT HAIR

I recently got my haircut (and got some lovely fringe) by my friend and fellow designer, Sara's husband, Hashem. Loved the fringe...

If you like pampering and want a great cut, check out Jet Rhys.

Been seeing Aubrey for color for awhile so it hadn't occurred to me to write a review, but after seeing a couple of rants here, I felt the inclination to weigh in - Jet Rhys is a great salon, hands down. When I initially went to Aubrey, she did my highlights darker than I am used to (probably far more flattering and healthier for my hair, but we blondes know the drill, eh?) I waited a couple of days then went back, and after carefully listening to me she kicked the color to exactly the tone/level I desired. To top it off, there was no charge and she was totally cool about it. I have seen one or two other colorists there, and a couple of stylists (Heather rocks - she did my wedding hair and it was stunning, even talked me into an updo that I ended up loving twice as much as my initial idea of wearing it long). All experiences have been favorable. My only beef is how tough it is to schedule if you don't book in advance, but now we know where the fault lies with that one! Scheduling online is awesome and they get back to you immediately with availability. I am not a fan of B & B since my color-treated locks demand rocket fuel, but the Davines was a surprise and is actually magnificent in my opinion. After about 3 applications, the whole texture of my hair was improved.

Vive la Jet Rhys!!!

I always walk out of Jet Rhys experiencing an identity crisis, since they make me look far cooler than I actually am.

Christina, Dani, and Jen have all given me rockstar haircuts.

Aubrey achieves the mystical colors I desire.

The salon provides me with the Bumble and Bumble products I require.

And you can book your appointments online! I love that!

I just got my haircut by Christina and, for the most part, I like what she did to my hair except she cut my bangs slightly shorter than I usually like them.

I also came late by like 15 minutes, which I felt super bad about but I really could not find parking (plus the fact that it was raining). So let this be a warning and make sure to leave yourself a decent amount of time to find a spot. Anyways, I'm sure that my lateness threw Christina slightly off schedule yet she still put in 110 percent effort into giving me a great cut. How can you seriously not appreciate that?

A few weeks ago I also got my hair partially highlighted by Aubrey and she is amazing!

jen gives a great haircut. would recommend her, and i have - the discount when i brought a friend was a nice perk. Jen listens and takes it all in when considering how to go forward. she is great with wavy to curly hair. for sure.
i have been there about 4 times - twice for color and twice for cut. I will ONLY go there for a cut now after 2 attempts with color with two different people.
I was disappointed that after dying my hair brown and using the conditioner they recommended, that i returned for another appt a month or two later and they told me i should not have used that conditioner for a long period of time (left my hair discolored from the pigment in the conditioner)... which they had neglected to tell me when they sold it to me. (a bit pushy on the product sales by the way). the second time i left (after seeing trisha) was the very first time i ever was emotional after a hair appointment. i had a lot of orange in my hair and i let her know. she called me later and said she thought the color bled and offered to correct it with a toner type wash for $40!!! I was totally appalled. There she was calling me to admit a mistake and wanted to charge me to correct it!
I now am back at my original stylist at Model Call in la jolla... MUCH BETTER and the price is actually worth it.

There isn't a week that goes by that I am not asked "where do you get hair done!?!". I usually grab a stack of business cards every time I go into the salon because I know that I will need to hand them out to complete strangers or friends.

I randomly discovered Jet Rhys on an internet search back in 2004. I had just moved to San Diego and needed a new stylist. I called Jet Rhys and asked for the first appt. with whoever was available first. They booked me with Dani.

My experiences in the salon have been phenomenal. The staff is super friendly and welcomes me in with either a cup of warm tea or spring water.

Dani is amazing. Not only is she an awesome person but she has some serious talent in cutting and styling hair. When I am looking for something new, I pretty much give her the OK to do whatever she wants with my hair. Even if I go in for just a trim, she somehow pulls off something new or different with it.

Jet Rhys is No. 1 in my book, and should be in yours too. :) (Now go book your next appt. w/ Dani!!!!)

With the stressed economy and my tight wallet, I've been stretching out my haircuts to every 7-8 weeks. This is normally difficult to do, especially with a short haircut that needs more maintenance.  I can do this, because Josie ($65) cuts my hair with such precision that it keeps the shape longer.  Josie does take a lot longer than most stylists (sometimes more than an hour, need a lot of quarters for the meters in Hillcrest), but she really listens to you and takes her time to get it right.  Even though some of the stylists, colorists, and shampoo girls are very hipster/cutting edge (i.e. blunt, asymmetrical bangs, with mullets), Josie works with me and creates a haircut that I can wear conservative for my day job, but hip enough for the weekends.

My review of this place was pretty harsh, so I decided to try and tone it down a bit in the interests of karma, or something like that.  I wont go on and on this time, but here's the facts: I was kinda growing out my hair, I met with Melissa, we talked and agreed on a haircut that I brought in four different pictures to illustrate, she went off and I didn't catch her in time, I left with the shortest hair I'd ever had (1/4 an inch in places like my forehead, leaving me with a crazy reverse-bowl shape--okay, moving on).

Here's the most important point: I've had short hair for the past four years, and even butchered it myself sometimes, but this was the first time in four years I'd ever cried over a haircut.  Cried and then went on a shopping spree/girl scout cookie gorge-fest to make myself feel better.

She did call me back later to offer to fix it--after she'd read my negative review online--but when all your growth has been snipped off in one fell swoop, that's not really helpful (what more could she do once she'd cut it back to a half inch?)  Bottom line: Everyday I'm frustrated with this haircut, and when it grows out enough to be cut again (you know, six months from now), I'll definitely go somewhere else and find someone who I feel better understands or listens to what I want.

On my tenth birthday my mother took me to get a professional haircut. Prior to that she would cut my unruly curly hair an even uncomplcated cut at the middle of my back. When I sat down the hairstlist asked me how I wanted my hair. I was very shy and unprepard and said, "short".

It was short.

Every piece of my curly hair was half a inch around my entire head. I looked like Greg Brady and was a 10 year old girl who wanted to look like Punky Brewster.

I never went back. From that day forward I cut my own hair. Nearing my 30th birthday I decided it would be time to face my fears. So I decided on recommendations to go to Jet Rhys salon in Hillcrest. Jen was the stylist who cut my hair. We went short but this time instead of looking like Greg Brady I had a beautiful classic A line bob. I'm pretty used to straightening my hair but she was very patient with me and taught me a few things to make blowing my hair out straight easier. I love my hair and had a great experience with Jen. Mostly because she recognized my trauma, whether exagerated through the years or not :P,  as valid and worked with me to get the look I wanted.

I love the energy and the feel of this salon, it is definitley a welcome treat. I would defintily go back but unfortunately I just relocated and so now the search once again is on.

Hashem at Jet Rhys is a dream come true. I've always been pretty chill about my hair... never spent a lot of $ or time on it, but some friends had been raving about Hashem, so I booked it. I am hooked. He is seriously an artist.

I simply went in & told him all of my requirements: not too much product, must air dry, not more than 5 minutes styling it, etc. He rocked it, spent 2 hours creating his "masterpiece" and was soooo much fun to boot. My cuts always grow out really well, so I don't have to constantly go in to maintain the look.

I look forward to my appointments because I always laugh the whole time, get an amazing shampoo/ neck massage and leave feeling like a million bucks (for only 50 bucks).

From the moment you walk in the desk staff are genuinely kind and the stylists are, too. If you go see Hashem, tell him Brooke sent ya!

This is hands down the ONLY salon to go to, in the entire San Diego area.

Creative and sophisticated. If you dont want to look like you have been "mitchellized" with the latest cookie cutter creation- look no further.

The girl/guy who came up with the business plan for Jet Rhy is a real smarty-pants. It's basically a beauty college where students get paid to learn. People start washing hair, then work their way up to level one, two, three and I think four is the highest. They pick an area of specialization, too; they either cut or clor, they dont' do both.

Customers benefit from the deal because they get to choose how much they want to spend and how much they care about experience. I hate shelling out tons of dough for a silly little haircut, so I tend to choose the lowest level stylist. In fact, I'm so cheap, I kind of want to see if they'll let one of the shampoo people cut my hair for free.

As a cross country road warrior and blowout fanatic (often twice a week), i give Jen and Heather two enthusiastic thumbs up for their blowouts. Smooth, silky, and enduring (up to 4 days).

Products: Davines, Bumble and Bumble, Color: Schwarzkopf

Love this place. Great service, posh, yet relaxed atmosphere and a variety of stylists. Hashem is fabulous, but I have to set aside a couple of hours for a haircut. He really listened and educated me on how to style my hair. A little expensive for my basic haircut, but whenever I am ready for a change or if I ever decide to color my hair, this is the place to go. The publicity they receive is astonishing. Seems like every major style magazine has mentioned Jet Rhys. They offer great products and I didn't feel pressured to buy any.

I can't say enough nice things about this salon. It's the first salon in my whole life that I am happy with, and never want to go anywhere else. Plus I drive there all the way from Oceanside. I first started with Christina, who is ah-mazing, but not always in my budget. So I've gone with Jen a few times, and she's great, too. Have had Dani once or twice, and recently hopped to Hashem for a birthday cut last week. He's such a cool guy!
If you are unhappy at all with anything, they'll fix it. It's fun to just let them take your hair in their talented hands, and work magic, tailoring the cut to your face, and needs.

I also love that it's a relaxing, casual atmosphere, despite being trendy and popular. I feel so comfortable there. It's hilarious, too, that my Service dog is so used to going there, that whenever we go down that street, he makes a beeline into the courtyard (even if I don't have an appt. lol). He's also quite welcome there, too. So he gives a five paw rating :)

I felt like a rockstar as soon as I walked into this place. I was so over-greeted and taken care of, I had to look over my shoulder to see if I had an entorouge following me of which I was previously unaware. It was somewhat nice, somewhat disconcerting. I was just there to get a flipping haircut.

Speaking of which, the cut was fantastic. I had Hashem, who seems to be the Yelp Jet Rhys go-to boy, which is fine as he lived up to his online rep. The conversation was lively and snarky (precisely what I require when I'm expected to sit still for extended periods of time while a stranger fondles my head), and he listened to what I wanted and went beyond and above.

Four stars for the cut and Hashem's glowing personality; minus one for the well-meaning but kinda freaky uber-service. I had so many people attend to me while I was there I had a small anxiety attack about how to manage tipping fairly (and one of the girls seemed to hover waiting for it)

as far as i'm concerned, this is the only place to get a great haircut (that's worth every penny) in san diego. i swear by dani, she's amazing. whether i have something very specific in mind or have no idea what i want, she always does a fabulous and thorough job. i've been coming to her for years now and have recommended her to lots of people (including my mom that was stuck in a 10 year hair rut), and they've all loved her just as much as i do.
i used to have peach do my color, but she doesn't work there anymore, so i switched to aubrey, who is great! i went totally blonde for the first time a few weeks ago and she walked me through the process and warned me about all the bad parts (supposedly the bleach hurts some people but it wasn't that bad for me). she's also really easy to talk to which is always a plus.
trust me, you won't be disappointed if you come here.

The girl who took care of me was so great. She gave me the warm welcome and gently leaded me to change the cloth.

I've got a lot of good complimentaries of my new hair cut. (Before that I cut my hair by myself thought ),I give a lot of credit to this salon.

The thing is, I want the sexy and easy-to-take care-hair,then asked my cutter about the hair extension, she told me frankly that the hair extension is not the easy-to-take care-hair and my hair doesn't need the expensive yuko stuff ( eventhough she could upsell me ) .I love their honesty.

I got the good hair as I told them. That makes me feel good about this salon ( I cut my hair by myself for long time because I usually didn't get things that I told the cutter )

This salon got 4 stars from the Salon-hater like me,it's extraordinary.

I absolutely love this place especially if you're looking for a trendy haircut.

I started going here about 3 years ago and always see Christina, she does an amazing job.

The times I have gone to her I don't know what I want but I did know I wanted something fun and manageable. Every time she was able to deliver an amazing cut with me barely telling her what I wanted. I trust her 100%. I've also recommended a few of my friends and family to her who don't want trendy cuts and she is able to do exactly what they ask for (Bring a picture and trust me she will give you that EXACT cut). She won't give you an surprises just a beautiful cut that you can work with even when you get home.

Only problem is that she is expensive I spend a little over $100 (including tip) for just a haircut with her. But trust me she is worth it :)

I needed an eyebrow wax and they were down the street.. the atmosphere was nice, the girls (and guys) were even nicer and they have tv's on the cieling so not only did i get a FABULOUS eyebrow wax (she shaped them P E R F E C T!), I could watch a fashion show at the same time :)

HOwever - it was $35 (my eyebrows were completely grown in and i gave a $5 tip) which was a lot - but oh well... my brows look hot!

So I finally gave in and got a haricut. It sounded like everyone loves this place so gave it a try. One word: Yiiipppeeekayay! (I toned it down for a PG)

Melissa was my "barber" and she really made me feel comfortable. First time I had to remove my shirt at a salon though :) No no not for that, gutter head! They want to make sure you don't get hair all over your collar. I was open to any style and she did a great job of picking/cutting one out. A lot shorter than I expected but just wasn't used to seeing myself with short hair.  Thanks melissa!

My bassets gave a 4 ears up rating also.

I've been seeing Josie for about a year now and she's great! The salon is always busy, but regardless of the craziness Josie always takes her time listening to what I want done. As far as color, I saw Quinn and I was disappointed. I asked for natural highlights on my dark brown hair and it turned out blonde. I was very specific in what I wanted and not only was my color off but the highlights were all over, not the partial that I requested. I spent over $150 and nearly 3 hours in a chair to later dye my hair back to dark brown in 2 weeks. I was so upset!! Next time (if there is a next time) I choose to highlight my hair here, I'll work with Aubrey. She was recommended last time I got a cut.

I got a cut and highlights at Jet Rhys a few months ago. It was a great experience. Everyone on the staff is very welcoming and casual, yet very professional. They are all passionate about what they do. I happy with my new hairstyle (though it will take me some getting used to since its a big change for me). I would definitely go there again in the future! (UPDATE: I tried to get used to the cut but it actually turned out to be a hassle. I couldn't recreate it at home. I have since gotten a cut somewhere else.

Also, it's really easy to make an appointment online. I got an email back from my appointment request within minutes. The salon can get booked up so I wasn't expecting my next-day request to work out, but they had a cancellation so they go me in.

Jet Rhys (and more specifically Dani and Trisha) ROCKS!  I completely trust my tresses with Dani's skilled hands and Trisha, well let me tell you, she took my hair from almost jet black hair to luscious caramel-blond and kept the shine and softness of my hair - not an easy feat by any means!  Check out my profile pics and the change is drastic but Trisha managed to make it look natural.  And I totally love all of the assistants there - the shampoo and massage they give you is heavenly (easily 10 minutes), they always test the water before it touches your locks to make sure its not too hot or too cold, they're super-fun to talk to,  and bonus if you're parked on the street and the meter is running low they'll top it up for you gratis.  Love the setting too, with the TVs set over the shampoo basins so you can watch while you're getting your hair washed, and their hours (most days they open at 8AM and close at 8PM).

I know that its a bit pricey (I paid $275 to get my hair colored from black to caramel-blond the first time) but you definitely get what you pay for when you get your hair did.  A cut from Dani grows out beautifully, I've been known to go for several months between cuts and the layers always grow out so pretty there's no need to get a cut in between except for a bang trim.  They also use great products (Bumble and Bumble, Davines) and walk you through exactly how to use it so you're not stuck at home clueless about how to use it.  Jet Rhys goes above and beyond and I'd highly recommend them to anyone.
