Jesse H Jones Park & Nature Center
1 review for Jesse H Jones Park & Nature Center
This seems to be a forgotten gem in the northern perimeter of Houston. here you will find some great trails that are actually paved - but not paved well enough for roller blades, which are prohibited anyway. Winding through a swamp area with a deck walk and along a sandy beach of Spring Creek all in the shady goodness of local flora. They have a new playground here, which is really cool and big, so if you have kids, it's worth the visit. Plenty of picnic areas as well, but I think they are all too close to each other. You can fish in Spring Creek and there is a canoe launch as well. It is worth the drive north and it is free.
Minus one star for the surrounding 'hood. I shouldn't have to have the uncomfortable feeling I am parking my car in a bad area.
