I'm so sad they closed, but this place will live on forever in my heart
Jennifer's was my favorite coffee destination in the Toluca Lake / Studio City neighborhood. The staff and patrons were super-friendly, their breakfast sandwiches were delicious, and their iced coffee --the thing I'll miss most -- was the size of a movie theater soda. -

Sadly, jennifer's is closed. It was for sale last year and I considered buying it but the location is too confining. Good luck to all of the former employees

Dingy basement vibe with busted 'That 70s Show' couches.
A local crowd of regulars gathered for morning conversations over coffee.
Not sure why people would wait in line at Aroma across the street if they're simply purchasing coffee or espresso drinks - when they can drop in here instead.
Do pass up Starbucks further North of Tujunga and choose Jennifer's instead.
Offers a large selection of whole beans by the pound.
The quintessential coffee shop. -

The wolds best blended coffees. especially the Oreo cookie. but ask them to make it with dark chocolate...not white.
If it's food you're after, the scrambled eggs with cheese & an 'everything' bagel.
Very clean. Eveyone's super friendly. They have amazing murals.Listed in: To Coffee

Outstanding!
This is one of the best coffee shops ever! The vibe is so friendly and cool.
Its hidden in the mini-mall on the corner. Plenty of parking around the corner on the residential street.
Their drinks are really great. Dark Chocolate Iced Blended is wonderful, not real sweet. And huge! The iced tea looks good too.
The people who come here are super friendly and cool. Its like a real "neighborhood cafe" with no corporate designs for world domination.
Free wi-fi. Couches. Comfortable. They even have a computer for their customers to use. -
Review from Jaymi W.
Free wireless, good coffee, friendly staff and a lot of seating. Pretty darn cute inside...and not as much of a scene as Aroma (though I do love Aroma!)
Try their food...it's good.Listed in: SFV- the valley ain't all that…

I really dig this place. Lots of variety when it comes to whole bean coffee. The latte's they make are really really good. The coffee is really tasty.
DARK Chocolate Mocha? Hell yeah!
I have yet to try any of the made to order food here, I heard rumors they make food, but never have I seen a menu. But I'm anxious to try.
The seating is not bad compared to the space they have. I usually grab a coffee to go anyway, but a few times I've met friends for some quality friend time and business.
The staff is pretty laid back without ignoring you. Very attentive and nice.
Definitely a hidden spot among the giant of a coffee/cafe joint just a few 1st downs away. -

This is a really tough place to compete for a coffee shop, it is located just a short distance across the street and around the corner from Aroma. This shop is much smaller and more like a conventional Starbucks with some indoor tables and chairs as well as sofas. they sell a lot of "green" merchandise which seemed not to be clearly linked to the coffee shop.
This shop can be distinguished by the huge variety of different flavors of coffee and a great aroma of coffee in the air that are available for purchase.
The staff were friendly and quite willing to make custom blended coffees or to answer questions.
The iced tea was fresh brewed and good but not as delicate as Starbucks with a significant amount of bitterness. At least some of the iced teas seemed to have originated from mass produced tea bags with no effort to create a unique blend or flavor.
The blended coffee drinks were uneven, some relying on a powdered base for body and others somewhat more creative. Generally the blended ice beverages were somewhat watery and not clearly thought out or imitations of drinks served in better known shops.
The espresso and cappuccino drinks were strong and used flavored coffees that were good but the specials I tried were not unique and reminded me considerably of other blends that I had tried.
Overall, this place is a great neighborhood alternative to Aroma where the wait time can be outrageous. This place is comfortable and laid back in its own way and is a better choice for someone seeking a diverse selection of coffee beans. -

so pretty much everywhere in LA gets a star subtracted because of parking. I don't live within walking distance of anything, so if I'm driving somewhere, there had better be a huge, free parking lot!
Other than that, though, I'm kind of in love with this place. It's the definition of a hole-in-the-wall, so when you see it from the outside, you might think it's super small, but walking in, it's pretty big. There are a ton of couches and tables, but not so many that it's crowded inside.
The smell when you walk in is my favorite part. It smells so good! It has to be from all of the whole bean coffees they have, in addition to the 6 different kinds they had brewing when I went in. I almost didn't buy anything because the smell was enough to really wake me up! But I did get a delicious cup of coffee, one of the best I've ever had!
The wireless was free, which is always a big draw for me. If I can drink coffee and mess around on the internet, I'm a happy camper! -
Review from Jen H.
If the place cleaned up a bit and bought new couches/sofas, this place would've received a 4 star from me!! There is a wide variety of coffee to select. The downside is there's only 1 person working. She's the cashier AND the barista, which means service can be slow if there's two people in line.
This place reminds me of Central Peak from FRIENDS. The barista knew a lot of her patrons. it was very warm and welcoming.(sorry, no while bald guy hitting on Rachel)
The best part was my friend and I were able to beat Jewels on my phone with 20 fingers :) -

A great place to have a relaxing breakfast or lunch with coffee
and read the paper or work on your acting, writing gigs.....
I really like this place. It's with in walking distance and the usuals are
good company. The "Unusuals" can be quite alarmingly enlightening and entertaining:
ie: Gooding and company. -

Incredibly friendly and inviting atmosphere. The coffee was super tasty and from what I could tell the food was prepared with love.
What stuck out the most was how friendly and helpful the staff was, whether it be directions or suggestions on what type of coffee you might like. It seemed as though they all loved working there. -

Love the neighborhood vibe here. The staff is very friendly and there's always a variety of house blends to choose from. The iced coffee is really good too.
The last time I was here, I overheard a few people talking about the LAPD debacle during the Midnight Ridazz Critical Mass ride. Since I was at the ride, I chimed in and quickly, the whole cafe was talking about BP, protests, biking in L.A. and how much of a power kick the police were on.
I blame the comfy couches for the relaxed and inviting atmosphere.
To sum up, great coffee, cozy atmosphere, free wifi, and great service and clientele = win! -

Fine assortment of coffees, and friendly staff, but difficult parking lot, with restricted parking in the lot to a limited amount of time. Wifi available, and easy access off the freeway. Definitely a neighborhood spot, especially if you don't have to park in the lot.

I love this place! It is definitely a Tujunga Ave. neighborhood gathering. I love seeing the same friendly faces every morning. Great coffee selection, and they always have at least 3 organic iced teas ready to go. A great place to start your day.

Extensive variety of coffee beans for purchase (and variety of brewed coffee too -- e.g. when I was in there the other morning they had five flavors to choose from including oreo cookie coffee... dang!) and a notably "Friends-y" atmosphere. True, some of the baristas are more friendly and upbeat than others, but you'll find that anywhere.

Despite being in a tiny dull strip mall with very little parking in front, it's super clean and comfy inside with sofas, computers and tables.
Minus- they close at 2pm on Sundays. Someone didn't show up to work and at 1pm, one guy was cleaning up and apologized for the delay in getting someone to help us. Manager came out of the back to help, but couldn't Guy #1 help out? My friend wanted to order food but they couldn't promise it would be ready by 2pm when they closed. ?! Really? They apologized for that too.
Friendly neighborhood place. Cafe au lait was good. I'm sure when they are fully staffed all is good. 2.5 stars -

Very good coffee and lots of it. Breakfast items are cheap and good. Not massive dished, but good reasonable sizes. Bagle+Egg+Cheese+Ham=FTW! The seating is perfect to kick back and enjoy your food and coffee. Plus the patrons seems to be in a good mood and are friendly. Free WiFi is a plus. The only con to this place is the parking in the strip mall is kinda limited.

I am not embarrassed to admit I am a coffee lover and addict! The moment I walked into Jennifer's, I experienced a sort of HIGH! The smell of the over 80 variety of tantilizing coffee bean sold here from around the world instantly perked me up the moment I stepped through the doors. I finally was excited to enjoy a cup of coffee. I've grown tired of starbucks, coffee bean and all the usual places. This place was just what I needed to remind me of why I appreciate a good cup of Joe. This morning, it turned my tired grumpy self into a happy gal. The staff were friendly and the place comfortable with tables and couches. Also, free wifi is always a plus.

Only been once but I agree with the other reviewers who have called this place "comfortable" and "relaxed" without the "scene." I don't drink coffee but I had their bagel and lox here and found it delicious. Staff is indeed friendly and helpful.

Every single time I venture to Jennifer's Coffee Connection I am always so happy I did. The service is friendly, the atmosphere is very "brookyln esk" ? yes - that's my comparison. It's cozy and the food is great. They really make you feel at home.

Good coffee drinks, so-so food. Takes a while to get your drink (sometimes they forget) and subpar, undertoasted bagel. The decor seriously needs an overhaul. And the in-your-face promoting of the $6 reusable bag? Eh.

good strong coffee and free wireless....quesadilla has too much cheese but a comfy place to hang out....and to beat the lack of wireless or wirelesslessness at the aroma nearby...cozy and warm inside...with a contingent of relaxed
regulars -

I wanted a coffee shop with couches and wifi.
This place fits the bill, and with great coffee to boot.
Also, I've never had trouble parking there, but I go in the middle of weekdays, so maybe that's why. -

I recently moved out of the neighborhood, and Jennifer's was a place I went to about once or twice a week to do some writing. I like Studio City a lot, but it's a very "industry" part of town, and a lot of places cater to those industry types (read: douche nozzles). Jennifer's, on the other hand, is really chill, very laid-back, and for the most part a friendly little hideaway with great coffee, tasty food and a relaxed atmosphere. It's a cool place without being self-consciously cool.
I didn't really discover this place until recently. There are customers here who seem to spend all day here on their computers, chatting with other regulars, or just meeting friends (it helps that they offer free WiFi access). The interior has a very welcoming and appealing look to it, and there are plenty of tables, chairs and couches to use.
The environment alone is worth it, and I guess this is Jennifer's biggest appeal to me. But the coffee (which is basically the whole point of the place) is quite good, and they have a huge selection of beans for sale. Also, they offer a small but concise menu of breakfast food and sandwiches (the Tuna Melt with Swiss is particularly good).
Jennifer's, with its wide selection of coffees, food, friendly regulars and cool atmosphere, is a great escape from the other establishments in a nice part of town that can, at times, be way too pretentious. -

i'm sitting here on a friday morning just after 7, enjoying a cup of coffee and free wi-fi after finishing up a lox plate. my mom needed a ride early cuz her business is short-staffed right now. so, she's filling in for a few hours til she can get someone trained.
first, the coffee's got good strong flavor without being overwhelming, but my gf thinks the coffee beans taste a little old. sure, they don't taste super fresh. but i'm not an aficianado and she is. and the lox plate, although a little pricey at 9 and a half bucks, had a ton of tomato and onion slices, a generous helping of capers and cream cheese, and enough lox to cover a decent size and tasting bagel. again, my gf thought the bagel was a little dry. but i'm not an....
there's no one in here at the moment and the few people, who have been coming in, are just coming in for a morning cup of joe on their way to work. so i don't know what it'd be like when this place is busy. there seems to be a good amount of room in the place and this sofa i'm sitting on is comfortable. the guy at the counter looks a little baked-over, although he was friendly enough. and the regulars all seem to get along with him. if my mom finds herself understaffed again, i wouldn't think twice about another visit to past the time.... -

I love Jennifer's, whether I'm grabbing a drink to go, snuggling up into one of the comfy couches with my MacBook (free wifi, ohyeah), or grabbing whole bean coffee for home. Okay, so my husband usually picks up the whole bean coffee. And he always comes home with the best Mexican Altura ... so delicious and fresh. So imagine my surprise when, the last time, the bag said Mexican Altura but the coffee inside was blueberry flavored. Blueberry. Who in God's name thought blueberry and coffee would be a delightful flavor combination in the first place? We'd already tried it a couple of times before we realized it was just too nasty to drink, so we didn't feel right about going back and getting it replaced. (I'm SURE Jennifer's would have replaced it, though -- I've never gotten anything but great service there.) Everyone makes mistakes (the inventor of blueberry-flavored coffee sure did), and I'll definitely be going back for a half-pound of Mexican Altura in the near future.

Very friendly staff. Welcoming customers and regulars. Great, comfy couch area to work, which I loved. Otherwise there are smaller tables available. Unexpectedly cute for being in a strip mall. The only reason I probably won't be going back is due to a "regular" who was...well...rather irritating, had issues respecting privacy and interrupted my work (while I was wearing headphones, mind you) to discuss her work problems. It was very strange because it was completely unprompted. But I figure, she is the regular, so I'll leave her territory. However, I also met a very sweet guy who has turned out to be a great contact. Overall, it's a great place and I would love to go back again sometime soon.

After trying 5 or 6 different coffee places in the Studio City/North Hollywood area, this is the one I went back to often. It is comfortable, the latte was always good, service was fine, prices were competitive. Perhaps I like it more for what it is NOT: trendy, hip, "scene-y". Good coffee and room to sit inside or out (at least between 8-9:30am). Parking is sub-par, as this place is located in a tiny corner strip mall. But I never had a problem early in the morning.
