So awhile back I did a review of Spruce Street Internal Medicine here in the good B-O of ulder....unfortunately for the docs, and more unfortunately for me, they couldn't quite figure out why I was in pain 24/7, refused to give me good meds, and after several months (yes...months of pain) they sort of gave up.
Well I went to see a specialist who has been helpful, but was now lacking a primary care physician. I was referred to the good doctor from a close associate, so why the hell not.
Anyway, my appointment was for 1:30, and being a retard, I decided to hit up the Post Office first and then try to find the place on my own. But...well this didn't go so well, since I ended up in the hospital across the street. By the time I found where I was supposed to be, it was 1:45 and I still needed to check in as a new patient. FUCK!!! I hate myself when I am late!
I called and they said they would still squeeze me in, and that they did. I was taken care of first by what I would assume would be a P.A. or RN Shalia, who was frank and informative, and after all my mountains of paperwork and labwork came in, they were analyzed by both her and Dr. Christensen (the doors are sort of thin here). They both sat me down, gave me several diagnostic tests (for instance, the all to fun parasite test) and we discussed the disease. Naturally they couldn't give me a quick diagnosis - which wasn't what I was looking for - but were much more thorough than any of the other primary doctors I'd been to. You could tell that while they were rushed, they were also concerned and were highly informative, and even funny.
I felt like a patient with a problem that is fixable instead of a patient that has a mysterious condition which will cause him pain the rest of his life and that he will just have to suck it up.
