2 reviews for Jaye's Timberlane Resort
We rented Cabin #9 from the couple who we assume owns it. A previous review I read elsewhere online said mean and horrible things about this place, which I now find to be unfair and not reflective of my experience at this homey locale.
Located on the moderately noisy Rt 9 right between Ben Lomond and Felton in the redwoods just north of Santa Cruz, this comfortable establishment offers cutesy cabins, fully equipped with a kitchen and fridge and bathroom and living room and futon and cable TV. The bed was... ok, not amazing, but fine for the price. We had a "treehouse" cabin, up on the hill, with a pretty great deck and view! They also have a pool, which was rather chilly, but that's Northern California for ya! The pool grounds were empty and therefore ours and therefore lovely and relaxing as we sunned ourselves that sunny Sunday afternoon under the ripening grapes on the grapevine.
I would highly recommend this place over anywhere in Santa Cruz, which is touristy and gross, and much more over the slightly cheaper nearby Econo Lodge. The location and charm of this place made it worthy of a possible return trip!

I love this place! My partner and I were planning to camp in the redwoods last April when a big rainstorm hit the area. We decided to rent a little cabin at Jaye's since camping was no longer an option. It was GREAT! We have stayed at fancier places in Yosemite, but the little cabin at Jaye's had lots of personality, it was very cozy. We spent two nights there, with the campfire blazing and marshmellows roasting while rain was pouring down, and there was also a deck with an overhang where we could watch the rainstorm from. Amita who was working the front desk was also very nice and helpful. An important tip: the resort is close to the highway so if you can, try to get a cabin tucked away up in the trees, for more tranquility and privacy. We couldn't even hear the road from our cabin. This is MUCH better than the pricier hotels in the surrounding area. We can't wait to visit again.
