I recently went back here after years of being out of the area.  It's just as I remember, with all the same little quirks, the big deck and the tasty food/drinks.  I walked in at the end of a music set by a young kid doing some John Mayer covers.  I won't say that all the performers here are good, but I like to support local art and music, regardless.  This kid couldn't have been more than 17,  so why not sit back and sip your iced chai and give him some applause?  Also, it's never so crowded that you can't find seating, which I love.  I hate going into cafes and not being able to find any space, especially if I'm with someone (which I was on this recent trip... a "date," if you will... and he loved the place more than I would have thought!).  I also love the free no-hassle wifi.

The only thing that would keep from coming back often are the prices.  They remind me of Starbucks, and seem unnecessarily inflated for a local coffee joint.  Then again, maybe we're paying for the view and the spacious deck.  Either way, thanks for making my date a good one, JM!

I love to support LOCAL places...now more then ever since Starbucks came to town!  I was in love with Java Madness from day one.  Recently, I had the best spinach bagel there, it was borderline orgasmic!  They coffee is strong, good, and the service is quick.  If you are in there a day that Silver Tides Jewelry is doing a show...you are in luck!  Nice big deck.  My kids LOVE coming here because they have toys, books, puzzles and games for them to play with.

Its all about supporting the local independent business! Java is a nice place to take a minute out to de-stress and read an issue of the phoenix or catch up with friends over good coffee and a game of checkers.  There pesto breakfast sandwiches help me get through my early morning summer work hours.  I'm a big fan of their vanilla chai, berry ice tea and snickerdoodle coffee.  Its also nice to see they support local young artists, whether its musicians or jewelry makers.

My favorite hiding place to do work.
Great ice coffee (they have the liquid sugar)
And amazing views (located right next to the marina)
I love how they appreciate the local arts:
On Sundays and over the summer they have local music acts.
On the walls they present great local artistic works
Food is pretty good.

Great coffee, excellent view. The service is shifty, but I can get over that. The atmosphere is amazing. There's always gorgeous art on the walls and always something going on - a jewelery show, live music on the deck. Summers are amazing ... but why not go all year round? Small business appreciate you much more than Starbucks or Dunkin! Viva la Java! :)

Drive past Starbucks and have some good coffee on the deck at Java Madness. Great views of the harbor and Salt Pond. Wonderful baked goods and sandwiches as well.
