Great sandwiches and service. You would pay 3 times the price if you were to have it in downtown.

Now I'm not the biggest chain restaurant guy but I have to say, Jason's Deli is probably one of my top choices for a pretty good sandwich.
You really can't go wrong with this place when it comes to their sandwiches. They have other things on the menu but I don't want to ruin a good thing to be quite honest with you. I personally enjoy getting the New Yorker, which they stack up with a mound of pastrami and corned beef. If that's not your thing, they have plenty of other specialties that you can choose from, like the Bird to the Wise, Santa Fe Chicken Sandwich, the Reuben, Amy's Turkey-O, the Cali Club, Club Royale, Chicago Club, and Poppa Joe. I approve of all these sandwiches and you never leave hungry! You also get unlimited refills on your fountain drink and free ice cream! Now who doesn't love THAT?!?! The only bad thing I would say about Jason's is that it can be a little high the cost of the meal...you'll probably end up paying like $7-10 for your meal but you do get a big sandwich and a side + pickle. I think you should give this place a shot if you haven't already! Check it Out!
*Tip - they have root beer there so you can mix some ice cream in there to make a Root Beer Float and get warm nostalgic feeling inside you!

I love Jason's Deli, it is so nice to find healthy food that tastes good and is fresh to boot. The soup's are delicious, and I really like the wraps and salads. My kids like the ice cream that is free of course!

In a sea of fast food and well known chain restaurants that cater only to those who aren't brave enough to eat outside of what they are familar with, this place is a gem on the south side of the city. I get frustrated when it comes to liking food other than your typical cheeseburger or hot dog and fries yet not being able to find anything worth eating.
Now, this too is a chain restaurant that offers american style food, but it isn't typical. I was pleasantly surprised to find salads that were creative and made with exotic cheeses, had COLOR to them, and offered dressings other than your typical Ranch, Italian, French, or Blue Cheese. They even go as far as to offer vegan platters and gluton free food. Of course, you get organic here. Things are FRESH. Their wraps and sandwich's are also creatively made and just as tasty. It's a refreshing alternative to what one typically finds in the area and surrounding areas.
I am a little reluctant to try the giant overflowing baked potato. Not because the potatoes sound bad. This place offers insane, tempting, mouth watering delicacies. But, each potato is like a fat man's dream on a menu next to the healthier choices. They are crazy loaded. One day, it will happen.
If you feel like your meal wasn't sinful enough because you decided to stick to the light menu, go treat yourself to the free soft serve ice cream.
When there, I would suggest the Manager's Special. It will fill you up for a good price. The side of fruit is yummy and their organic pomegranate-mango tea is tasty.Listed in: Hungry like a wolf

I was dying for a reuben and theirs is one of the best I've ever eaten. Ask for extra "Russian" (thousand island) dressing on the side. They don't skimp on either the corned beef nor the saurkraut. Perfect.
My wife loved her chicken caesar wrap. Her blue corn chips didn't have enough salt on them and the salsa was a little sad. Finishing off with free soft serve was awesome. The flavor is not as good as Premo's or Culver's (nearby) but it does the job and was a nice surprise.
I'm a transplant from the northside and it was so nice to find a local place that wasn't all about hot dogs or burgers and fries. Would go back in a heartbeat. -

I wouldn't come back here.
Their food is oily and bland. I'd rather just go to a panera, cosi, corner bakery, or my home. -

For a suburban chain deli, I was presently surprised. The staff seemed nice and it was a nice respite from the typical suburban venue filled with screaming babies, even though I brought my own screaming baby wife me, but he never screams all that much.
Anyway the corned beef was good, prices OK, and they give you free ice cream. Considering them as caterers for our screaming baby's first birfday. -

The food here is healthy, fresh, and organic! The all-you-can-eat salad bar for ~$7.99 has a really great selection to choose from. It even has chocolate moose!
If you're a guy, get the Reuben. It's HUGE, and delicious!
My personal favorite is the managers special (1/2 sandwich, 1/2 soup):
I get the tomato basil soup (the best I've ever had), along with the California Club sandwich. The great thing about this combo is that you still get the fruit cup and dip with it at no extra charge, unlike the other combos. I've gotten a lot of people hooked on this combo, and they all love it!
This is as good as it gets for a lunch that is healthy and still tastes great! -

I end up eating at Jasons deli at 3x per month and I always find this location to be a good place to get a quick lunch. The all you can eat salad bar is the way to go. They have lots of choices and options. The sandwiches are ok and I still have not found a sandwich that I love. The free ice cream is a nice plus.

Had to break away from the taquerias near my home and needed to eat something different. Came here ad I left really satisfied with my meal. I ordered the manager's special...Santa Fe sandwich and broccoli cheese soup. I paid around 7 bucks which is pretty fair to me. I will stop by here once in a while. I hope more will come because I think it's a great addition to the Oaklawn area and a good break from the other food chains.

I absolutely loooooooooove Jason's Deli! The turkey Reuben here is my very most favorite sandwich in the entire world. And, the giant overflowing baked potatoes are spectacular. I really hope they decide to open in the Loop so I can eat Jason's Deli for lunch every week.
Plus, free soft serve ice cream! -

Food-only carry-out review:
Mmmm. Tasty. Love the big menu, the healthier (and less healthy!) options, got a kick out of the individually wrapped pickles.
Sandwiches were just the right size, with creative toppings and yummy deli meat. My "Cibatta-bing" was great--the roasted tomatoes were a really nice touch. Feels like a great alternative to Panera or Quizno's, and you can get exactly the sandwich you want with their build-your-own option.
Oh, and the chili was good too -- nice and meaty with good tomato chunks.Listed in: Chained to the chair

I went there today for the Jason's Deli experience. Many people have talked about it being a good place, with fresh, healthy food. My father in law pointed out a couple of their "healthy" sandwiches had over 2000 mg of sodium. Since I'm not a senior citizen concerned with such things this did not effect me.
We each ordered a sandwich, which came with choices of baked or regular chips and sometimes the option for fruit. Each got a drink as well. For the four of us, it was just under $40.
I found the food to be rather meh. I had a wrap that was supposed to have organic blue tortilla chips, homemade salsa, guacamole and pico de gallo. The chips were broken and looked like they were taken from the floor of someone's car, and the homemade salsa was like a cheap marinara sauce. The amount of meat in the wrap was average, but what got me is that they were even cheap on the sprouts - heck those things are like weeds - load the wrap up! I normally cannot finish a wrap and I gobbled this down it was so thin. Apparently that's part of the gimmick with the 'healthy food' they just give you a really small amount. Nothing really special about this place, I think I could and will get a better meal at Jimmy Johns - although they did have some wonderful teas (not the sweet tea, yuck!) but the black currant was great.
Yep, overall I would say nothing too out of the ordinary and for $40 for a lunch for 4, in what was essentially fast food, I expected more.
As an aside, the girl at the register, Jakayla (?) and the woman working on the drinks (Aut?) were both very nice and friendly. -

I'd never heard of Jason's and when my friend suggested going here for a birthday nosh, I wasn't sure of what to expect. Sure, it's a chain, but I'm not one of those food snobs who think chain=bad.
Anyway, we go in and the room is huge, the menu huge, the service very friendly and efficient, and best of all, the food was great!
The "Manager's Special" is any half sandwich, soup or fruit, and chips. Pretty good deal. I got a Rueben which was huge. The meat was succulent and flavorful. I like to eat and can definitely put away some food, but the 1/2 sandwich was enough to satisfy. And free Ice Cream...Who knew!?
I wouldn't drive across the city for this (or any restaurant for that matter) but if you're in Oak Lawn jonesin' for a deli sammich, stop in and enjoy. -

I was a Jason's Deli fan when I lived in Dallas ('97-'00) and was excited to hear that they were opening one in Oak Lawn close to where I work.
The food is as good as I remembered. Salads are tasty, the sandwiches hearty, and the pastas --- yum! An extra bonus is the free soft-serve frozen yogurt. Yay!
The service is OK which is why I'm only giving it 4 stars. Other than that, I like this place. -

Jason's Deli is FANTASTIC! Clean resteraunt, good food, SALAD BAR from out of this world and found this on the net...

How did this up-and-comer snag second place? Largely because of its devotion to organic food: About one-fifth of all its ingredients are organic, from blue-corn tortilla chips and whole-wheat wraps to field greens and spinach. Plus, its creative salads--like the Nutty Mixed-Up Salad with organic field greens, grapes, chicken breast, feta cheese, walnuts, dried cranberries, pumpkinseeds, raisins, and organic apples--make you actually want to order the greens.
Our judges applauded the portion-control option: Reduced sizes of, say, a stuffed baked potato, are $1 less. Jason's menu also highlights ultrahealthy sandwiches and provides the nutitional info.
We love: Being able to build any sandwich on an organic whole-wheat wrap.
Danger zone: High-sodium counts on some sandwiches; if sodium is a concern, stick to the ultrahealthy choices. -

I was desperately hungry while visiting someone across the street and saw this place. I was not expecting much as I'm not a fan of deli's, but oh my muffaletta! Deli-sh.
If you go, do try the muffaletta. I still have some in my fridge (order the whole one so you have plenty left over) and it is just as good a few days later. My husband and sister-in-law also enjoyed the food.
Why only four stars? Because, silly, it's a deli. -

I've been to Jason's Deli about 3 or 4 times over the past 2 years and it's a nice little place to go with friends for a meal. It's nothing wonderful but the food is pretty good and YES the baked potatoes are the size of your head like they advertise.

YAY!!! Jason's has come to the area!!!
I was first introduced to Jason's Deli when I was going to lived in TX in the mid-90's. Since moving away, I've always wished I was close to a Jason's again. Until this location, amongst the many being opened in the Chicagoland area, the location in Iowa was the closest. The ex and I always talked about going there, but it was not meant to be. So you can only image my enthusiasm when I found out about this location's existence - among the others that have been opened recently.
Since I had to go out to the SW burbs to pick something up I'd swing by Jason's with a friend (had to share the greatness) for lunch. OMG! It was so worth driving out to the SW burbs.
The food was exactly as I remembered it - AWESOME! I had my favorite, Texas Stlye Spud. If you don't have a large appetite I recommend the half order. You'll thank me for that advice. As with any Jason's there was a soft serve ice cream dispenser along with chocolate sauce to finish off your meal.
Not only was the food great, but so was the service. Also, if you're lucky to go on a nice day like we had I recommend you consider sitting out on the patio. Shaded and non-shared options are available.
All in all, I highly recommend you get to Jason's right away! I know I'll be back soon! -

Best reuben in the world! Free ice cream? Yes. Amazing. I have to admit I have been here about 10 times and have only gotten something other than the reuben once, so I can't speak too much to the rest of the menu. But, I've never had a friend not like their meal at this place. Great salad bar too. Also, you can get a couple of different sides instead of the chips, I've tried the potato salad (delish) and the fruit cup that comes with a yogurt type dip (amazing). And they're environmentally friendly which moved them from 4 stars to 5...among other things they have reusable cups, which is pretty cool for a more fast food oriented type place.
I was craving a reuben so badly one Saturday afternoon that I very nearly drove all the way here from the city...lucky for me I found out they have a location in the South Loop as well. I brought some vegetarian friends and they loved their food as well, so it's not just for meat eaters! -

Mmmmm.....Jason's. Oak Lawn got something right....or...um maybe Jason's got something right....whatever the case....I am glad I live close to this place.
I have yet to eat anything here I wasn't crazy about. There seems to be something for everyone. My vegetarian friends love this place, my meat lover husband likes this place, my little guy likes this place, my diet concerned co-workers love this place....even Grammie loves this place!
Similar to a Panera, you can do a half sandwich, 1/2 soup or salad bar AKA the Manager's Special. The salad bar is well equipped. Tons of outdoor seating for warm summer days when you want to be outside. They have several daily soups. My husband likes the corn chowder, I like the vegetarian vegetable and the pot pie soup is good on a cold day. This what I call a Deli +, meaning plus salad bar, plus pasta, plus...soft serve ice cream FREE for every paying customer....Can you say HOLLA!!!!
The place is a bit pricey, but worth it. Some suggestions: Chicago Club, Pot Roast Melt, Loaded Bake Potatoe or Bird to the Wise. You can swap your chips for fruit or cole slaw for an extra small charge.
I facebook this place when I am craving it and I get a dozen responses everytime from people telling me to stop posting about this place cuz now they want it! That's how addicting this place is...you hear the name....you want it! -

I ate here on one or two occassions last summer, when I would have to go down to Oak Lawn for my doggy adoption stuff. Anyway, I passed by this location and my hungry self had to stop to get something to eat. I'm really glad I did because I liked this place. The food was really good, and we were able to sit outside and enjoy the sun, with my best friend afoot. Free 'soft serve' was a plus.

I did not know that this was the first day they we in business. I'm sure the grand opening will be in a few weeks after they get the kinks out. Let me tell you about them. As I walked in there was about a dozen reps at the front door. O.K. What do I do now? Move the hell out of the way! I picked up a menu in between the doors. Otherwise I wouldn't have known what was going on? I did not see a menu board? You have about 10 feet to figure out what you want. Their menu is quite extensive. I had the Italian Cruz Po'boy. I got my cup and tried to get some soda. But, there were 3 more reps standing in front of the machine. I'm not getting it. You see a paying customer wating for a product, but you just continue talking like he's not there? I had to ask them to get through. And guess what, no Ice. The seating is nice. It's cafeteria style, and brand new. As I was looking around I noticed about 30 people hovering around the front and behind the counter. I was one of 4 actual customers, 2 walked out. Still my food came in a stealth 13 minutes. One of the employees saw me looking at the receipt and my phone, and came over to apologize for the delay. I noticed on the menu that you get reg chips or baked. I wasn't given the option. The sandwich was pretty good though. It was stuffed with ham and hard salami on toasted new orleans french bread? I think that I would come back here. The 2 stars are all about the corporate shirts that were so ignorant to the public. The actual employees were incredibly courteous.
