Rated as five stars, I had high hopes for Jason's. My attitude quickly changed as I watched some really lame dried out looking sandwiches were handed over the counter.

After taking a bite of my turkey wrap my first impression was "eh, not too bad"

As I continued taking more bites, I quickly changed back and decided it was probably best I discontinue my sandwich consumption.

If i had to eat at one restaurant for the rest of the meals of the rest of my life, it would be Jason's. Just take a look at there menu: there is literally something for everyone...and almost all of it is at least somewhat nutritious if you know how to order right. Their newly expanded salad bar "rocks my socks off," if you will, especially with its roasted red pepper hummus,  tasty pasta salad (though the dressing on that is a little greasy), fresh veggies, and crispy apple slices (they just switched to a crispier variety than before, so if you had a mealy experience, give it a try again). my father also loves the quarter muffaletta, the little seedy flat breads, and the strawberry shortcake. the employees are nearly always friendly, the place stays clean, and even though it can get ridiculously busy during peak hours, i've never had a problem finding a place to sit. and of course, to top it all off, it's quite easy on the wallet--an all you can eat salad bar is only 6 or 7 dollars or so!

So about three months ago I tell myself that I'm going to start eating right, you know cut back on the carbs and sugar intake, get more exercise blah, blah, blah. So today I remembered that I told myself that three months ago and decided that I'd hit Jason's Deli because they have a salad bar and that means "Good For You". But once I got there and read the menu I told myself to "screw it" and ordered a hot New York Style Pastrami on Rye with sauerkraut, spicy mustard, side of Potato chips and a pickle. I did look over the salad bar and it's jammed packed with all kind of nature's goodness. Plus it's got banana pudding and chocolate moose on it and if you mix those two together you get nothing but a big pile of delicious.

REMEMBER if you didn't pay for the salad bar you'll have to use plate they gave you for your sandwich and act like you're going back for seconds. No one ever says anything but if they do all you have to do is frisbee the plate full of pudding into kitchen and run like hell while yelling "You'll never take me alive!"

Don't try to do lunch here, it gets busy and if your like me and didn't pay very much attention in school, you don't have a nine to fiver, so showing up for lunch at 4:30PM (or as we say in the biz Lunner.) You won't have to wait very long. Jason's menu has a little bit of everything and a lot of its healthy, these guys have hopped on the "No-Trans Fat" band wagon and they use the word "Organic" a lot. All sandwiches and salads are made fresh when you order it, but it's not Subway, so don't be that guy who stands on the line instructing the deli master how to do their job. The soups/gumbos are tasty and they have a pretty good cheesecake, but it's the Baklava that I dig. Plus they have free "low-fat" soft-self-serve" ice cream.

Oh, parents do me a favor and teach your kid that just because something's free doesn't mean they have to break world records to see how high they can pile ice-cream on a cone, they look like a Cirque Du Soleil act balancing the damn thing back to their table. It is funny when it does fall over and hits the floor. The expressions on their faces are priceless especially when I look at them and say "Oh man, you are so dead."

I always order one item and one item only from here; the Beef Eater (Beefeater). It's roast beef with mayo and melted cheese with a side of au jou sauce, chips and a pickle. Love the fact that they give you all the soft serve yogurt you can eat! Snag a few of the gingerbread muffins and dip them in your yogurt, it's good.

They have good tomato bisque and they have these amazing little gingerbread muffins on the salad bar. Go there for the muffins.
