Of all Mongolian restaurants I have been to, I think this one is the best. They have more varieties of choices in terms of veggies and noodles (they have spinach noodle) - and the sauces are plenty to choose from to season your meal.
They also serve flour wraps as well.. so you can just get the stir fry dish with wraps. I like this place... But beware, if you go on Sunday for lunch, the place is so crowded!... Crazy long lines!
My family recently celebrated my Mom's birthday here and I have to say overall it's a pretty well run restaurant.
I've been to the Mongolian Grill in the U-District and definitely does not compare.
Their customer service is a lot better, there's a bigger space for a big family to eat, the chefs are amazing too by the way, it's a buffet (who can resist buffets), you get ice cream at the end with your fortune cookie too!
I definitely would want to return there. I came out of there a happy camper lol.
So, why didn't I give a 5 star? Because they didn't have any fruit that was the only thing that was a little bummy.
You can't walk out of this place, you have to waddle.
The food is excellent, mainly because you get to choose how you make it which is always awesome in my book. Fill up a bowl or more with your favorite items from the buffet bar and then file down the line to have them cooked before you on the signature mongolian flat grill. It's healthy (or as healthy as you make your dish), it's quick and it tastes incredible. You really can't go wrong here. Plus you can go back for more, all they ask is that you actually eat it and don't waste--highly reasonable if you ask me. Feel like take-out? They can do that, you pay by the pound instead. Also they have cold beer and sake available and lots of seating for you and the family.
Your dinner includes soup, rice, wraps and a scoop of ice-cream, your choice between 3 flavors, all in one reasonable price. As for the food, it's fresh and ready to go and they have a fantastic array of sauces to mix and match from. The chefs are quick and ready with a smile. The service is excellent and they keep the place spotless. All in all, a great value and an awesome family place. I'll be back again soon.
Yeah - Mongolian Grill! If you've never done it, it's time to let your inner cook free.
The room is a nice big place (mostly booths, goof for small groups) with a long cafeteria line of fresh vegetables and frozen meats. Grab a bowl (or several - one price fits all) and start building your own personal stir fry meal. My recommendation - jump around the line and put the heavy stuff on the bottom - it balances better. Then add the sauces - there's even a sign with suggestions on how to mix the choices. Don't be shy - this is the place to let your food tastes loose.
At the end of the line is ... the grill - manned by chefs (no, you do not actually get to cook your own meal). Leave them at least a dollar for their trouble - the show alone is worth a buck. They will pour out your food onto the big round humpbacked grill and start cooking it using long wooden sticks before your eyes (and the eyes of maybe ten or twelve others if you go in at lunch).
In about three to five minutes the chef will scrape your finished dish onto a plate and you can go sit down (after maybe stopping for more hot peppers) and start chowing down. Remember to order a drink and some rice before you go up to the line. Leave a buck for your wait server also - they keep your drink full and bring you dessert. Don't skip the dessert - you paid for it and besides it's light and good.
This place is a great lunch. You can expect to wait though during peak hours because Jasmines is popular and well traveled. However if you really like your stir fry fresh and with a "have it your way" angle thrown in to boot, go see how good a cook you are. You can get some really good - or really bad - food combinations depending on what you mix together in your bowl. But remember, what comes out is your creation, so this place which is quintessentially Asian also is truly American in its effort to give everyone the freedom to eat exactly what they want to.
Go - you'll be glad you did.
3.5 stars
It was my first time here and I thought the food was okay. It's a buffet and you can choose your own food for the chiefs to cook it on this huge wooden grill. You choose your own meat, vegetables, as well as sauce (if you like) to mix in with noodles or rice. Be aware of what you put in your bowl because it can turn out great or dull.
I don't think it's worth it if you don't get over two plates of food.
However, I think the concept of this place is great.
Though this is at the mall, it is not mall food. I love mongolian grill because not only does it taste great, but you get a lot of it. It is not necessarily a buffet, but you get a bowl and choose your meat, noodles, different veggies and sauce. Hand it over to the chef and he will grill it for you.If you would like to learn more about mongolian grill, just ask Katie S. http://www.yelp.com/us...

I like this place because it is large, clean, and the wait staff is very attentive. With your lunch, not only do you get the tasty mongolian grill, but you also get soup and ice cream. Remember to tip your chef and your waitress.
Zipzap Zubidy Bop!
You can load up on all sorts of goodies here and stay full. It's all you can eat so you can go back several times while they grill up your food in front of you. You even get ice cream and soup included with the price. I went here for a late lunch but I was so full I didn't even have dinner. This is definitely a good family buffet place.
Quite simply the best Mongolian Grill type place out there (and that I've tried). The food, the spaciousness, the cleanliness, the atmosphere, the prices...you want more?
Most MG type places are of the smaller type, with limited staff and limited supply (not to mention b/c of the limited staff at busy times, foods are "missing"). This is surely not the case at Jasmine; The selection is abundant (all the veggies you'd want, plus two types of fish, squid, lamb, chicken, and beef) and the food is always "filled."
The wait staff has always been friendly and attentive, and an extra here that I haven't found at any other MG are fourfold: rice paper wraps (only 3, but you still get them!), rice, a choice of hot and sour or egg flour soup, and a serving of icecream. Couple this with the fact that the price is about the same as other MG's, it's about 4 times larger, you aren't limited to one trip AND it kicks butt over the other MG's and wa-la, you've got your choice if you're anywhere in the area in search of great food at a great price!
Was really looking forward to coming here and it disappointed me. Beat the lunch crowd because they are very short staffed. We got there early - the soup was awful. The choices of meat and veggies was good - unfortunately I made some sort of awful concoction of a sauce (my fault). Unfortunately, either the veggies or meat had been treated with sulfites - therefore I got sick. You have to beg for rice and wrappers (then we only got 2 wraps - and our server never came back til I tracked him down for the bill). Hubby liked it - he will be back. I probably won't.
Compared to other Mongolian grills, including Changs, Jasmine stands head and shoulders amongst the competition.
The location is in a very central area of federal way, at the commons, parking can be a issue, depending on when you go. I love all the different meat choices that they offer, such as squid, scallop, 2-3 different types of fish, 4-5 different types of meat. Other nice touches that you don't find at other grills are shitake mushrooms and red peppers.
You can fill as many bowls as you like, and if you do not know how to mix sauces, just go for the chef sauce. You also can choose to get some soup and/or rice with your order, and at the end of the meal you get some ice cream to top it off.
Not bad for under 12.00$ a person
I LOVE THIS PLACE!!!! My fiance and I will be having our wedding reception here in July. We have been coming to eat at Jasmine for over 4 years now and we wouldn't go anywhere else for Mongolian. We have tried many Mongolian restaurants and none of them compare to this one.
Their selection of meats include thinly sliced beef, lamb, chicken breast, fish, calamari and at times turkey. Then you get a selection of broccoli, carrots, bok choy, spinach, cabbage, tomatoes, peas, zucchini, pineapple, bamboo strips, jalapeno peppers, fresh tofu, red and green bell pepper..to name a few. On top of all that, they have about 15 sauce selections for you to choose from. The prices are about $8 for the lunch buffet and about $12 for the dinner buffet. The dinner buffet selection will also have salmon, scallops, and shrimp. All meals come with your choice of egg flower or hot and sour soup, rice, wraps and ice cream and/or sorbet. Drinks are only $1.50 and have free refills.
SO GO AND TRY IT ALREADY!
An old high school buddy of mine loves this place, so whenever I'm back home, Jasmine Mongolian Grill is sure to come up.
The best thing about Jasmine is the assortment of meats and the quick service. You have your basic beef and chicken, but also squid, lamb, and shrimp. Although you can go up as many times as you want, to make the most of each "visit", I like to put my meats in one bowl and my veggies, noodles, and sauces in another. You can finish it off with loads of peanuts and chili flakes.
Comes with soup and ice cream. Ice cream isn't that great; they are a bit icey. I think it's pre-scooped into these metal dishes and kept in the freezer, exposed.
Good deal and quite filling.

I.M.Y.
I love eating here. It CAN be a bit pricey, especially if you're not the type to go up for seconds, but other than that it's EXCEPTIONALLY yummy. Unlike other places, they add cilantro, and shiitake mushrooms, which I got CRAAAAAAAAZY over. So of course I'd love this place! They also have a wide variety of red meat, and plenty of seafood, and tofu for all you vegetarians. =)
I love the fact that you can put whatever you want on your plate. The cooks and cook in front of you are always friendly and the rest of the staff is very attentive. This place is really fun to go to.
This place was pretty good. The service was great and came back every so often to refill water. I don't really know what good mongolian grill tastes like so .. yeah.
