I'm a homebody and a party girl and I've been looking for a balance.

A lounge perhaps? But there's no food.
A bar? But I'm not in the mood for wings or beer.

I wanted something snazzy where I can wear my new teal patent leather shoes. I wanted to  eat Spanish food without the rice and beans. I wanted wine! No, no, sangria... good strong sangria that's a little sweet but not playin' no games!

What's that you say? You know of a place close to your home that has all these things including an eclectic mix of music that's mainly Spanish but will have a randomly placed Coldplay song? You had me at Coldplay... yeah, I said it!

The owner came over to the table after pitcher #1 and asked how we were doing, my companion mentioned that I yelp, he smiled and gave me a business card for his other restaurant and asked me to go there and yelp about that place too. (Uncle Peter's, I shall see you soon.) He then went on in his Argentinian Spanish (that is far too sophisticated for my ears) to be nice and jolly.. mainly b/c he had a white beard that reminded me of Santa Claus and a belly to match. After pitcher #2 I almost hugged said belly. I love bellies. I just want to put my cheek on it's steepest axis and stretch my arms as far as they can go around the belly and just squeeze. We stopped at pitcher #2.5 b/c if we hadn't that belly hugging would have really happened.

Type of food: Tapas..Mediterranean food...But there are all sorts of tapas options..and wine options, etc

This place is is great...its not expensive...but it is kind of pricey in a weird sort of way.  I like Jardi...its got ambiance.  The place is decorated as if you are in Spain in a village sitting there drinking wine.  It is great in that respect.

The portions are small and appetizer like.  That being said, the food is very good.  I have eaten at Jardi a number of times and had a great assortment of people and groups with me and the consensus is that the food is pretty good, we just wish they gave you more for the money.  The place has a decent assortment of wine.  Its a nice place when they make it dark...

I've been to Jardi  three times in the last two years and I've always had a lovely time.  The sangria is a bit pricey, but always tasty.  The service is excellent and the tapas are above average.

The owner was there the last time and he was incredibly nice to my friend and I as well.  I wouldn't go out of my way to go there, but it's a nice spot in the neighborhood.

First...to those that confuse Hispanic restaurants and Spanish restaurants. The "rice and beans" are New World, Western Hemisphere
Spanish speaking Hispanic. Europe has Spanish.  The spot is good....cozy...good food and they have Futbol on TV pretty much at all times.  So , ok...they dont have flamenco dancers on the tables, and pictures of bullfights....but the food IS good.

Never again. We went there to watch a World Cup game. We ordered at the start of the game (games are 90 minutes). The game went into over-time and we had still not gotten our food: a cheese plate.

If you are into Spanish Tapas, at a reasonable price, coupled with fresh sangria (your pick-white or red) then come here. For thouse that want to get on this place because the owner is Argentian and therefore what is served here isn't authentic Spanish tapas is a fool. I've lived and studied abroad in Spain, if I felt the food didn't meet my own standards after having plenty a tapa while in Spain then I wouldn't recommend this place. For those that love jamón serrano con queso manchego then come here. If you enjoy gambas ajilo then you need to come down. While you wait for your food they always bring pan tostado con aciete de olivia and offer jarras de sangria which you can split with your party. Come down and enjoy some great authentic tapas! They play an electic mix of Spanish/Latin music and the waiters are attentive and amicable.

Food is decent and the vibe is nice.  I haven't been here in a few months but plan on going back as soon as I can.  It's an OK neighborhood locale!

I've been here at least 10 times. I particularly like the chicken dish (kind of a chicken rolletini with Spanish spices and a smokey flavor. I get it every time. The Argentinian red and white wines are excellent as is the sangria. The staff is very friendly and the decor is homey and attractive in a rustic way. The eclectic music (South American and Central American) adds to the good time.

The first two times I visited here I loved it. It was a rare and completely unexpected find, cheap, with very good food. They have a decent selection of affordable wines and they're more than willing to give you a generous sampling from any or all of them... Then the portions got smaller and smaller. Then the prices got higher and higher. Then the overall quality of food--not to mention overall diversity of menu items--decreased.,, Also the place used to be dark and warm, now it's loud and bright -- perhaps they're adjusting what was an almost authentic Spanish Tapas restaurant to a clientelle which is mostly Ecuatoriano and Colombiano, catering to and not challenging their preconceived notions... The last time I was here will remain just that. It's nowhere near where I live, I went out of my way to eat here a few times, and I'm not going to give it any more chances... When it first opened I thought this place could be great, worth dragging friends the distance.

Just had dinner there and I have to be honest.  Though I loved the atmosphere, the food was not that great for the price.  We ordered the cheese and olive plate which was just regular black and green olives and what I believe was manchego.  The portion was really small and I think they should have offered at least 2 cheeses.  Then we had the "smoked salmon" and eggplant.  The eggplant was tasty but the salmon was definitely not smoked.  It seemed to have been cured like ceviche, only in thin strips rather than chopped small.  We also had the white anchovies which were good, but not worth $10 for 1 slice of toast and a few small fish.  Then we had the wings.  I hated them.  They were soggy with no real flavor to speak of.  The grilled octopus was really the best thing we had. But again, $10 for such a tiny portion was ridiculous.  I'm a real sucker for Tortilla Espanola and so I couldn't resist ordering it.  It was more like an American omlette (dry and stiff) than Spanish Tortilla (which is light and custard like).  The wine selection is very good, but really really overpriced. Like a 300 - 400% markup.  The desserts are artful. We only had the chocolate mousse which was pretty good.  Overall, though I like the atmosphere and service very much at Jardi, it is highly unlikely that I will return.
