Review from Diane S.
Syosset, NY
I have been driving past this little gem on the north fork for years. I thought it was a breakfast/lunch sort of place, so did friends who live nearby. The menu is fantastic - not huge, but something for everyone. AND the menu changes every few weeks! The burgers are delicious, maybe not as geneously sized as some other places but no one went hungry. We had a fried Calamari app with a buffalo style sauce. WOW. and the FRIED BRIE is just that - a fried wedge of cheese that puts fried mozzarella or fried anykinda cheese to shame. It is a must try. We ordered two. Ravioli in pesto sauce was delicious, Chicken Toulouse Sandwich fantastic. My husband had a fish (dont rememebr what kind, grouper maybe) VERY good, but the couscous side was the star of the plate! There were 9 of us and for such a small place (2 petite diningrooms) we took up nearly half of one side - they were quite accomodating adn friendly ! GO !!

I seriously thought this place was going to be a mom and pop little tiny diner spot. You can't blame me...it's at the corner of a light across the street from a Valero. The outside doesn't look too appealing so when I was told that we were going to dinner there, I kind of had this "oh no, are you serious?" feeling. However, my dining experience totally changed. OK, at first when I came in, the hall way was so narrow and there wasn't a hostess. I didn't know where to go to be seated. But the servers there were super nice and very attentive. The decor was um.... very yellow LOL. Yellow walls with yellow curtains. Good thing I happen to like the color yellow. It did have some rustic vibe to it.
Food was yummy! I had the portebello melt which was portebello mushroom with Gorgonzola cheese, bacon and drizzled with a balsamic glaze. Talk about sweet, sour, and salty...YUM! The I had a burger....I know, I know... a burger in a nice place? Whatever...I didn't feel like eating a huge entree. I had the Jamesport Burger which was I think an 8 oz burger with herb cheese on foccacia bread. I asked for mushrooms on it. It was good. I didn't like how the foccacia break was bigger than the burger. So you either had to tear off pieces of the bread to get to the meat or you just take a bite or two of bread before you get a bite of the burger. LOL but all in all, it was really good. Crispy thin fries...can't go wrong with that.
The person I was with had the fried brie cheese appetizer. Woah, frying a whole triangle of cheese is brilliant...especially brie. It's not a sharp cheese which I like and well... it's like mozzarella, but on a whole other level. The he had a penne pasta special. I didn't try it, but he ate everything so I take it that he liked it. Dessert was good too. I had the chocolate raspberry cake. Moist & delicious...a little too sweet for my taste and my companion had creme brulee. And again...I wasn't able to taste the creme brulee. The only thing that was a little downer was that the cappuccino. It had a funny taste. Maybe it was the brand they use. But anyways, I definitely like this place.
Parking is not bad...there's a parking lot behind the restaurant, yet you could also park on the street in front. The restaurant is on the main road, so I suggest you park behind. Last thing you want is a car to side swipe your car while you're eating. The place is pretty small, yet quaint. Don't be surprise if you could hear the table next to you.
All in all, I had a great dining experience. I definitely recommend this place to other foodies out there. -

This is a consistently good lunch spot. The menu features solid favorites, always complemented by good specials, and the wine offerings are good. (I can't recommend the coffee or espresso, though.) The servers are always friendly and helpful, and the room has a nice atmosphere.

Yard saling and antiquing in the area led us to the doorway of this wonderful and cozy place! Our taste of the Sherwood Chardonnay converted us to another lovely local wine. We have been so impressed and have now crossed over to enjoying LI wines! Our salad was divine, chunks of chicken and great basil garlic dressing. The broiled shrimp dish with lump crabmeat and fresh, local asparagus was outstanding. The pasta dish with salmon shrimp and aspargus satisfied my partner immensely. DO try the rhubarb crisp. We will certainly make this a regular stop as we cruise around antiquing, and NOW, wine tasting!

I have been hitting this piece up for years. I originally discovered while rummaging through wineries maybe 6 or 7 years ago in need of building an alcohol sponge. Now I make the 30 minute drive from my Mastic digs to engulf and get their meals inside me whenever I think of it. Everything I have ever ordered is perfect. The Burger with boursin herb cheese comes on foccacia and offers up satisfaction. I find it hard not to order the Linguine with italian sausage and oil every time I am there.
The interior rocks the farmhouse look that seems fitting for the agricultural surroundings. Staff are all accommodating and seem like they all come from one family. -

New York, NY
We stopped here en route back to the City on the recommendation of a lady at one of the local farm stands. SO glad we did. We were hungry and left happily fed.
Big guy got the Jamesport burger with boursin. So. Good. The flavorful meat was shaped in a fairly thin patty and the herbed cheese on the burger was super tasty. (Big Guy mentioned several times that he didn't even put katsup on the burger, which is saying something for him.) The home made focaccia was a surprisingly delicious bread for this super burger. Excellent thin fries too.
Little guy got chicken fingers and they were actual cuts of actual chicken, not hunks of fried mashed up chicken paste.
I had the salmon cake on the same foccacia and it was small but delicious. It came with marinated vegetables, which I didn't expect to be much worth eating but they were tasty and crisp local veggies that were not overpowered by the marinade.
We'll definitely stop by again if we're lucky enough to be invited back out to the North Fork! -

We stopped here for lunch on our way out of the North Fork on a recommendation from the woman working at Pugliese Vineyards. It's a cool little place with a menu that changes every few weeks. Service was great and lunch was too.
We shared the Hot Italian Sausage Sandwich w/roasted peppers and the Cajun Chicken Wrap. We ordered one w/fries and the other with mixed local veggies (broccoli, tomato, zucchini & squash) which were served raw and tasted great.
A great place for lunch. -

I've been here numerous times. It's quaint and the food is good.
Usually they are crowded for lunch on the weekends, but worth a try if you're in the area. -

Cute tiny place in a small town, say no to the pasta & yes to the salmon cakes, butternut squash soup & local house wine.

We first visited this restaurant almost 20 years ago when we first came out here and have been back many times since. We have NEVER had an unsatisfactory meal here in two decades. Excellent fresh local food well prepared, the most complete North Fork wine lsit anywhere, and friendly service. Only complaints are the size of the water glasses (too small) and the 9PM closing of the kitchen (too early).
