44 reviews for James Joseph Salon
One of the Business' Favorite Reviews What's This?
I had been pretty neglectful with my hair for almost a year when my mom threatened to exclude me from a family wedding if I didn't get my hair cut...
Cue to me in Cindy's chair at James Joseph getting the first of many amazing haircuts. I have long, relatively fine hair and I'm very picky about the cut, especially the shorter pieces in the front. I've had a number of disaster haircuts where my "sweeping bangs" request has ended up with shot flat bangs across my forehead. I have naturally wavy hair and I cannot have short bangs unless I want to blowdry my hair every single day (I don't). Cindy understood exactly what I wanted and invited me back for a quick trim (for free, no appt. necessary) any time I felt that the front pieces were getting a bit too long.
The prices are high but the stylists are the best in the business. I would recommend Cindy's services to anyone.
I called ahead to see if I could get a toner for my too-orange, too-blond hair and was told there's a 2-week enjoyment policy.
I had to call later to get the charge removed (because I'm a sissy and didn't want to dispute it in front of the rest of the planet), but they were very nice.
Mayumi herself is nicer than 99% of the stylists in Boston, most especially when you're unhappy, and so just for putting up with my nonsense when certain other people who shall go unnamed would probably have given me a perm and purple highlights out of spite, I am remaining deeply loyal.
It's not her fault my demands are unreasonable.
And I like my hair very much now.
So what I'm trying to say is, if you're as terrorized by the thought of letting anyone touch your hair in Boston as I am, Mayumi is a comparatively safe bet.

Mayumi is up there.
Last time I was in with a hair disaster, she rearranged her schedule to have the… Read more »
Yay for Lindsey at James Joseph! She is my regular stylist, and she works her magic to make my baby fine hair look full and fabulous. She works fast and I am always very pleased with the results. Aside from my regular cuts, I just had to talk about how amazing she was for my wedding. I was in contact with her like crazy by email and she was always very friendly and responsive. Because we had a super-small wedding party, we came to the salon for our styling. Lindsey did my hair and it was amazing! I really just brought in two tiny pictures on my phone for inspiration (I forgot to print them out, oops.) and she came up with a really wonderful style. My updo stayed put all day and all night (9 am - midnight) through windy Boston and lots of dancing . Even the new hubs, who couldn't see why I would want to do anything besides my regular hair, loved it! She was also super helpful with my birdcage veil styling and she even helped me trim it down to be exactly what I wanted.
I would also like to say that Cristina, Mary and Mayumi were fabulous for our wedding day as well, doing hair for my sister-in-law, and both moms, respectively. Cristina, who was also super sweet, did a beautiful updo that stayed all night. Both of our moms looked beautiful thanks to Mary and Mayumi!
The staff at the desk were very helpful and friendly, as has always been my experience. Two thumbs up!
While I was there, there was an older lady who because she did not make an appointment to have her hair blown out was forced her to do it herself. I did not like that at all. This place is extremely pretentious. The seats are not friendly for those are not a size 5.
In my opinion, the stylists who work there are the same as those at Super Cuts. The place left a bad taste in my mouth. I was not happy and I will definitely not be going back.
I do not ask much from a stylist... all over color (brunette), long layers, sweeping bangs... and yet, in my 15 years of getting my hair done, many a hairdresser has managed to get those three things all wrong. Not my Mary though... she takes my boring demands and creates an extraordinary cut and rich, shiny color. She is so sweet and I really enjoy seeing her every eight weeks. And, I LOVE that she asks me how I want my hair when I walk out (straight, curly, etc.) and then, goes out of her way to show me an additional way to style my hair. I have learned so much from her! Every single staff member I have encountered at James Joseph has been professional, polite, and all around great. I would pay what I pay for the entire service solely for the head massage from the assistants who shampoo! They are amazing!! As long as I live in Boston, Mary and James Joseph salon will have my business.
I- Love- This- Place. Fantastic customer service, friendly staff, and most importantly, amazing results. I go to Lindsey for color (she used to be at James Joseph Studio so her prices have gone up since she was promoted to the Salon) and she is great---and trust me, I am PICKY.
I really recommend her especially for blond highlights because she does a great job at layering color and blending well so when your roots grow out it's not so obvious (read: you can go longer in between colorings!)
The only ding and reason for 4 stars instead of five is that the price is PAINFUL. It is a huge blow to my bank account every time I go....
Best Blow OUT EVER! - Okay, I have CURLY hair, and lots of it! I read reviews before I went to the salon and I decided to give it a go since i am a local.
Beware~
The Staff is incredibly rude, I did not get a greet at the door, i was not offered a beverage. The receptionist pretty much looked right through me when i walked in the door. My stylist - Brian actually asked me if I knew how to brush my curly hair. (i've only had it on my head for 24 years!)
OKAY so why the 4 stars. Brian Gave me the most amazing Blow out of my life. My hair was blown out stick straight and has with stood the new england humidity. I didn't think this was possible. I pay for blow outs about twice a month and get trims every 6 weeks, my hair is in great shape. Brian has great, sharp whit which was refreshing and my overall experience with him was great. I would go again just for that blow out..1 week with out frizz was worth the poor receptionist welcome.
This is one of those reviews that I've been sitting on for months. I really wanted to like this salon. I tried to like this salon. But I finally realized this was not a relationship to be. And when I left a marginal tip on my last visit, I knew I was cutting the cord for good.
The good:
I know this sounds like I'm reaching here, but I really do love their hair washers. All of the ones who have washed my hair are friendly and enthusiastic and incredibly nice. Plus, they give the best scalp massages. When I left a crap-o tip for my stylist, Aicha (more on her in a few), I wound up justifying it to myself by giving a super-generous tip to the hair washer.
The bad:
I started going to Aicha when she was at the Studio, and I followed her to the Salon. The first time she cut my curly mop o' hair at the Studio (August 2007), I was so excited. Despite the heat and humidity, the curls were bouncy and showed nary a sign of frizz. It was a great cut, a fab style, and I felt treated right.
It went progressively downhill from there.
Every haircut since, I left Aicha looking crappier and crappier. I would tell her I wanted her to take off all the "dead ends" and I'd still feel them in the shower the next day. I would walk in with a head of curls and leave her chair with a head of frizz.
Oh, and the only time she ever asked if I wanted my hair blown dry? When she had her minions at reception call me on the day of my appointment to see if I could move my appointment up several hours to accommodate her schedule.
The ugly:
What really burns my britches about Aicha is that she clearly KNOWS how to cut my hair. She did a great job on me the first time but yet I clearly wasn't worth her time on any other visit.
Plus, she had the gall to lecture me every time I went to see her like a doctor telling her patient to get more exercise. She insisted that I come see her every 8 weeks (every 3 months is adequate for my hair, which grows super slowly). It got to the point where I had to start lying about when I had been last in so she'd stop chastising me. Seriously.
Unless you're willing to see Aicha every 8 weeks and eager to tolerate her treating you like the class nerd from junior high, I have one word for you: avoid.
OK.....let me tell you....I have been to lots of salons on Newbury street and this one was the best overall for color, cut, price and efficiency. I had a cut and a single process color by LANA and was out of the door in one and half hours and I loved it. I was a bit scared by lana's blue hair but got over that quickly when she did a super job with my hair. I also don't like to chat while I'm having my hair cut so this place was perfect....I could just zone out. I have to also say that I had the best shampoo and scalp massage of my life. Ask for SIMONE....she did my shampoo.
I've been going to Mayumi for almost two years for cuts and highlights. My longest relationship to date. She is terrific. Sometimes I feel like calling her to tell her how much I love the cut after I have already left. She also helped me through a "traumatic" hair dye experience.
They also now have MASSAGE chairs at the sinks. Freaking unbelievable.
I Have been to this salon 3 times, each time hoping for a better experience. After reading that this salon was nominated for Best of Boston Salon. I hate this salon. I received mediocre haircuts, and more importantly, I had horrible customer service. Each time I felt completely rushed by the stylists. The third time, I was not satisfied with my cut and asked my stylist to make some changes. The stylist said "no" and then tried to explain to me why that would not work.
I will never go back to this salon, nor would I recommend it to anyone in the future.
Over time, my entire office has been converted to this salon. It started when one of my co-workers had a mini hair-crisis - her stylist moved from her old salon to James Joseph. And as we all know, any stylist worth her (or his) salt is worth following - so she did. She was never obnoxious about pointing it out, but whenever the topic came up, she had glowing reviews of James Joseph Salon and her stylist. And her hair always looked fabulous, and she generally went for drastic changed whenever she went to get styled, so people noticed. Eventually, she managed to match up a German lady in our office with a German stylist who works at James Joseph, and she was converted. Then my stylist moved to Connecticut, and I was ready for a change, so I tried her stylist at James Joseph... I'm sold.
The decor is very high-end - large, lofty studio, modern style furnishings, rather minimalistic but very cool. This was the first place I encountered massaging chairs, which seemed rather novel. They'll offer you drinks and make sure you never wait long. The service has been excellent, and not just from my stylist - I get such good vibes in this place.
The stylists are very knowledgeable and I consider them more along the lines of artists than simple hairdressers. They create some amazing looks. My stylist (Margaret) has won many awards for her color work - she attended a high end place in California to learn all the latest coloring techniques. All of the stylists there boast equally impressive certifications. They're great at creating something for you that meets your needs - they'll cater to your lifestyle while giving you a look you'll love.
Yes, James Joseph Salon is expensive - it's about twice what I was paying at my spa in Cambridge - but it's well worth every penny.
Not sure where I got the data, possibly Boston Magazine or The Improper, but I always had the impression this was a good shop. Sadly, my experience did not corroborate that reputation.
I got Rudina for color, randomly assigned. She was sweet and accommodating and did a fair job matching my hair color (three stars).
The hair washer was great and I asked her not to scrub my hairline to get the extra color out and she was great at doing what I asked. Can't remember her name.
For the hair I chose Eva based on her resume on their website; bad guess!! I told her exactly what I wanted (straight across, NO LAYERS). I had a gut response to get up and leave when while telling her this she kept saying "I have to cut off the dead ends". I repeatedly said "NO LAYERS". Well, suffice to say I am a pine-cone. I have so many layers it's ridiculous. On side there's like a divit out of my hair.
I was going to go complain but would you trust your hair to someone you had just complained about? No. So here I am to say "Avoid Eva".
I've been with James Joseph since 2001, I love this studio!
The staff is always so nice, the layout of the salon is my fave - lofty - with big windows overlooking Newbury Street. Sure, my stylist has raised her price over $20 since I started going, but I can't really blame her, this is 6 years we're talking! And plus, try to go anywhere else around here and the price is pretty much in the same range so it's kind of a moot point..
I occasionally try out other stylists/salons just to spice things up a bit, but I always want to return to JJ. The shampoo alone is worth it, with the massaging chairs and amazing head massage. Then add my stylist who's adorable and gives me a great cut every time and it's kind of a no brainer why I keep going back!
Freshman year of college, I made the mistake of assuming a salon would be top-quality just because it was top-dollar.
James Joseph Salon looks cool, but my hair had never looked worse than it did after I trusted the hands of a haircutting-hipster. From my experience, they cut your hair to look trendy, not flattering. I also really don't like getting my hair blown out at salons and told my stylist that, but she assured me she could make it pretty. Instead, I looked cheesy.
My cut has finally grown out and I now go Michael's Salon in Brookline because its fricken' sweet. Liquid (on Tremont) is better than JJ, too.
When I moved to Boston from Chicago, I need to find a new salon. I thought that the salon was a little overpriced, but all the awards made me give it a try.
Had the best haircut of my life here (also the most expensive). Felt so good about the experience that I decided to get a highlight done too (never had one before and wanted to combat the increasing attack of grey hairs). Had a different stylist for color and again, thrilled with the result. The color looked completely natural -- not streaky or too light.
Great salon. Chris Kezik is my stylist. I am not in town for haircuts often, so I only see him a couple times a year but I always go back. He is very kind and his career seems to be taking off nicely for him. Great attention to detail and I find he really listens to what I want and is not afraid to offer his own thoughts as well. The reclining massage chairs in the wash station don't suck either. :o)
::psst! FYI: Chris Kezik is now across the street at Daryl Christopher Salon & Spa... it'll be our little secret. :o)
I'd been bouncing around trying to find the right hair stylist for a while. I'd tried out two stylists at two other salons before meeting Kathleen at James Joseph for a consultation. The consultation was enough to make me book an appointment for as soon as I could get one--she was articulate and kind, and was interested in knowing what I wanted from my hair (sometimes a tall order!).
When I went in for the actual appointment, she said she'd been thinking about my hair and how to approach the two services I'd be getting (partial highlights and a cut) and described some ideas she had. It may seem simple, but the fact that Kathleen had actually remembered me and thought about the different ways she could help me reach my desired result was a very pleasant surprise. She seemed genuinely thoughtful and articulate.
I loved the results of my appointment. Kathleen did a fantastic job with my often hard to work with color, and gave me a precise cut, and amazing blow dry, creating beautiful soft waves. It is so nice to know that I have found a talented stylist that I will be able to return to in the future! Kathleen rocks!
Great place! I went here after I had a disastrous dye job (my red highlights made me look like Bozo the clown) - they got me right in on a sunday night, of all times. I came out with fabulous low and highlights. I also saw Seth once, who saved my hair from the agony that is the "growing out" stage. Ironically, he was training Mayumi, who I later saw at the studio, and who is now a stylist at the Salon, I believe.
The staff is super friendly. They have massage chairs while you get your shampoo. No pressure to buy products. They use top notch Bumble and Bumble on you.
I only stopped going here when they opened the (much cheaper) studio. Great place!
My old stylist left their old salon suddenly, and I needed a haircut ASAP, and decided to go here, even though I'd always sworn I'd never ever get my hair cut on Newbury Street again. Even so, going here was the best decision EVER. While they are expensive, I really honestly believe that for the first time in ages I've found a stylist who works with me, as opposed to giving me the same cut they give all their clients, or just steamrolling my idea and giving me what they want. I like the fact that I can go in there and tell my stylist "I want something short and funky" and he listens and does something different, as opposed to playing it safe and conservative, a problem I've had with a few stylists.
I really love this place. My wallet, not so much, but they are one of the few luxuries I'll afford myself, so whatever.
On my continuous quest to replace my former hairstylist in NJ, I made an appointment at James Joseph, for no other reason than its on Newbury St and an option that I was aware of since I had previously visited Marc Harris.
They require a credit card to make an appointment and will charge 50% if you cancel within 24 hours. Makes sense I guess but still, I'm just not used to that.
My stylist was Lana and she was good. I told her what she was looking for and she was attentive, albeit brief and a woman of few words. She didn't really make conversation during my appointment (which I'm not sure I like or dislike). I was happy with my color and my cut, but the price tag did remind me I was on Newbury Street.
Cool decor, pretentious receptionist, great haircut. There's a reason this is the best place to get your haircut.
As an Asian, they recommended Michelle to me. She does a decent job. I think she's better at styling than actual cutting. She spent maybe 10min on my hair, and spent 45min on styling it. It looked great when I walked out, but when I washed out the curls and the hairspray, I was left with a mediocre cut.
I've also had David/Michael cut my hair (no longer works there?). I can't remember his name exactly, but he did an excellent job! Actually spent time cutting my hair and not just styling it. Although this place is a bit pretentious, they do a great cut and if I could afford it I'd continue going here. Def. check this place out!
PS. DO NOT get your hair cut by Mary Cheng. She used to work at JJ Studio and butchered my hair! I don't know how she ended up working at the Salon...
I always come back to this salon (off and on for 10 years). It's the first and the last place I've been to on Newbury. Why? They know what they are doing. It is pricey, and I have walked out with wet hair more than once on a warm summer day to avoid the blow-dry price. The cut and color is worth it. I've never had a negative experience and look forward the the hair wash and the massaging chair. What I like about each stylist is they do what you ask. And if they have a question or a concern, they like to discuss. Bring cash for tipping. Although I find this inconvenient, it's the way they work. I went again last week, and have gotten 2 nice compliments on my hair since. I like compliments. ;)
Been going here for over a year. Nice enough place, typical Newbury with maybe a bit more laidback atmosphere, especially on Sundays-they're open all day so if you want to avoid the uptight, busy times this might be for you. Plus you can park on the street.
Anyway, I have two great stylists I feel lucky to have found and would highly recommend: Maite, who works wonders for curly hair. She is from Cuba and has her own curls so knows the deal--her cuts grow out beautifully and I only need to go a few times a year. Also, Erica is a fantastic colorist, who I hear was covered in Instyle magazine, and won awards...anyway, she is really down to earth, a pro at what she does, doesn't push you into anything. They both make going to the salon, something I don't look forward to, totally worth it!!
I have terrible hair. My hair is ultra-baby-fine, very light blond, and very thin. After receiving countless haircuts and highlights at Dellaria paired with my active life (I'm a marathon runner and work out at least 5 days a week, oftentimes twice a day) my hair actually started breaking off at the cuticle in huge clumps. The result was me having shoulder length hair with fried/broken off pieces all over the top, less than two inches short - in summary, I looked horrific and very unprofessional at work. I felt awful about how I looked.
I managed to receive oodles of recommendations from friends on various salons to go to, but determined that I really needed high-quality professional help. I made an appointment at JJ Salon (rather than the studio which is cheaper, but apparently has less experienced stylists that will not give as much personal attention) on a Wednesday for the upcoming Sunday. The receptionist who booked my appointment was very pleasant and booked me with Aicha. I truly think that I was a walking hair disaster, and was nervous that my hair was going to be such a challenge that poor Aicha would throw in the towel and up and quit the Salon.
I arrived at the Salon about 15 minutes early. It's on the second floor at 30 Newbury Street and has a modern, industrial feeling with it's exposed brick walls and light wood floors. The salon has an airy, bright feeling to it and seemed to be alive with positive energy. The receptionist, was again, very pleasant and brought me a glass of water and settled me in the waiting area. I was then shampooed and massaged in the massaging shampoo chair by Kerry, who did a great job. JJ Salon carries top of the line products and the shampoo that Kerry used made my hair smell the best it's smelled in it's life.
Then came the moment I had been dreading. I sat down at Aicha's station, hair sticking up in chunks on top of my head, the rest of it hanging in a tangled mess. I explained to her what had been happening and she explained to me in her soft Morroccan accent what she could do for me. After quite a bit of a consultation, we agreed that a short haircut would be best and would allow my hair to grow back much healthier and stronger. Aicha was so kind and patient with me, she gave me a great pep talk: "Would you rather have longer unhealthy hair, or much shorter hair that is quality, healthy and strong?"; she also assured me that I had a pretty face and I would be fine with short hair (despite my protesting that I would look awful). I was fully expecting to be scolded on how neglected and terrible my hair truly was and how she couldn't do anything. But she did! She looked it over, and then started trimming. Apparently she is an educator at the Salon and has done all sorts of work for Stuff at Night and local fashion shows. She gave me a very short haircut as well as a deep conditioning treatment and style. The haircut itself is a good one, I just don't think it necessarily works with my face, but then again, I don't know what else she could have done with the bird's-nest-in-progress that was on top of my head. Aicha showed me how to style my hair myself and helped me pick out some new shampoo, conditioner, leave-in conditioner and repairing solution. She agreed to help me grow my hair back out the healthy way and designed a plan for me and treatment regimen. I was very impressed at how understanding Aicha was of my situation, she didn't make me feel bad, and when I didn't necessarily like my haircut, she explained to me how it will be much easier for me to grow my hair back out and this is just phase one.
My haircut, two conditioning treatments, blow-dry/styling, and four products came to a grand total of $190.65 (without tip, which can only be accepted in cash). Not as bad as I expected!
Although my experience was great and I will be returning (and will only have my hair done by Aicha from this point forward), AND I don't think they need to improve at all, I am giving JJ Salon four stars. I don't really like my haircut, but I also understand that my hair is now in the process of growing back the healthy way. I know that I'm currently in transition as far as my hair goes, but JJ Salon really did what they could to make me look better in the short term and designed a plan to help me in the long term. Even though my hair is a bit on the shorter side, I know it will grow back. What really matters is that Aicha saved my hair from completely falling out due to bad styling in the past and my own total neglect. I think I truly walked in there and gave them a challenge, and they completely delivered. I think JJ Salon will deserve a five star review when I'm able to walk out of there feeling like a knockout once my hair grows back out, but that is my fault and not theirs.
TERRIBLE !
I had cheated on my hair colorist because I was reading about Seth everywhere (Allure magazine, Best of Boston) and decided to see what he could do for me. My hair is naturally dark blonde and I had light blonde and golden highlights. I asked him to make me a chocolate brown. He did it exactly how I wanted and it looked fantastic, until I washed it. After two maybe three shampoos it was no longer dark brown, but an ugly copper color. I immediately called the salon and the receptionist told me to come back. Unfortunately the appointments in the next few days did not fit into my class schedule and I was not sure when I was working the following week. She told me this was not a problem to call back this weekend to set something up. When I called back they told me because it was a week after my original appointment I would have to pay again for him to fix it. After a couple angry phone calls they agreed to fix it, I went it and was treated terribly, and the same problem happened again! I finally went back to my original colorist and she told me that it had happened because of the undertones in colored blonde hair and that it should not be colored brown without first stripping the color. Why didn't the "best colorist in Boston" know that? He RUINED my hair!!! It took a year to get it back to the original beautiful blonde!
I needed to get my haircut before my trip to St. Thomas, and i'm not talking about a trim. My hair dangled down to the middle of my back, actually it was longer then that, and while i loved my long hair it wasn't going to work for me in the Carribean, I know what you're saying, but I couldn't just pull it back into a ponytale because i had broken my arm on an earlier trip to New York City and I can't pull my hair back. I was on Newbury St and decided to quickly run into James Joseph, I had a great experience with SUe in the past, She wasn't available so Michael cut my hair and it was fabulous. It's really nice to have a stylist actually listen to what you want, talk to you about what will work and make your experience extremely pleasurable. What makes it even better is the prices are really reasonable compared with most other Newbury St. salons.
Best salon in Boston, simple yet relaxing decor, very experienced stylists. Rudina is the best!
If you want the same overpriced haircut as every other spoiled stick figure walking down Newbury, James Joseph is the place for you. Receptionists are put out by the simplest of requests and stylists patently ignore direction choosing instead to sing along to the obnoxious music blaring over the speakers.
I left James Joseph Salon with an excellent haircut (goodbye poofiness, hello smooth(ness)!), and a smile. I usually have an awkward time with stylists, mostly because i never know what to say to someone who's hacking pieces of my hair off. But Mary, my hairstylist, and I had a good chat. She even showed off her Russian vocabulary (which was made up of a curse word and "thank you") and told me to go out and party with my new haircut tonight (but I'm yelping instead.. now that's dedication... really it is).
This place is crazy expensive, but I just adore Eva, so I can't stay away. She is so sweet, and always gives me a perfect haircut. My hair is straight and fine, and can be utterly lifeless with the wrong cut, but she always leaves me with swingy and sassy locks. I am so hooked that I haven't been able to try anyone else in years. If the cost were less, I would give the salon four stars, but I do feel like $100 for a haircut is a bit overpriced.
I decided that I need to get rid of $280 as fast as possible one day. Instead of doing something lame like giving it to charity or buying a new handbag, I decided to go get a haircut! And the coolest thing is it made me feel great! So now I go back once a month to buy a haircut and then tell my stylist all about how hard rennovating my condo is. My stylist loves the fact that I tip 15%, and I know the hairwasher loves me because she always says I have the softest hair. I really don't know why everyone doesn't take this good care of themselves. The world would be such a prettier place if people would just try a little harder to be pretty.
Great salon, large and open, and down to earth, attentive staff. They also have stylists that specialise in all types of hair.
It's pricey, but not moreso than other Newbury Street salons. Taylor, a Cambridge native, cut my hair for two happy years until I moved. The vibrating massage chairs are overrated, but the decor inside is industrial chic and pleasant.
Good haircuts, very high price (especially for a guy like me with fairly short hair).
I heard really good things about James Joseph but let me tell you I was not impressed. The salon itself was nice but no one that worked there seemed particularly thrilled to be there. The stylist who did my hair a few times came from Vidal Sassoon I believe... I think her name is Margaret. She was very nice, had a great haircut herself and very cute clothes. I was thrilled, thinking oh she has style, a great reputation, she'll know what to do, blah blah blah. The first time I left there with a cute bob and was pretty happy... it was a little boring but not bad. The second time I asked if could "thin out" my very thick hair and take some of the weight out of it so that the bob wouldn't look so boxy. When I got home I cried. I could have done a better job with a bowl and a pair of scissors and saved myself the $90 before tip. I spent months growing out the totally shiteous layers and never went back. NOT worth the money and totally does not live up to the hype.
I love this salon! Kathleen, my stylist, has become a friend. She is wonderful, males and females alike will bond with her! The staff is all friendly and outgoing, there is music playing, it's a high ceiling studio with a lot of energy, but you don't feel rushed at all. I have never had to wait. Enjoy the city-vibe, the magazines, and get a lot of attention on your locks. They use great products. They will offer you water/coffee. Remember to bring cash though - you can't put the tip on your CC here!
I have been going to Cindy for years, she is wonderful. She does the best cut and listens to exactly what I want....I love the massage chairs also....and the assistants that shampoo your hair massage your head and it is greeeat!
This salon is awesome - I've been seeing Seth for three years now and he is the only hair stylist I've ever been to who knows EXACTLY what type of haircut I need at the moment....even if you don't have any pictures or even KNOW what you want, he hits it right on the nail every time. He's also a sweetheart and totally appreciate/loyal to regular customers. HIGHLY recommend him for all types of hair - I have difficult hair to cut, fine and wavy - and he does a fabulous job every single time.
I love them. I've been going to Rudina at James Joseph for about 6 years. The staff is very nice and it's not stuffy (at least not in my opinion). I'll never leave !! I recommend them to everyone who asks, "where do you go to get your hair done?!" Note: after you get your hair straightened from them, it'll last for days if you're hair isn't oily.
