I worked here back in my high school days and didn't make a penny. It's not that I wasn't paid, but hanging out in this cute shop all day, without finding all sorts of cute things to take home is impossible. They have a wonderful selection of cute little knick-knacks, the kind you buy as gifts but never give away 'cause you like them too much; a long wall full of sweet, witty and unique cards; super cute clothes and some great jewelry.

Probably my biggest purchase for myself at the time was a pair of earrings and an incredible necklace made out of 2,000 year old Roman glass from Israel. It is created when the glass is buried (probably came from some ruins), absorbing minerals from the earth transforming it into a mica/opal-like material. The jewelry is gorgeous, totally one of a kind and I still get compliments on it today. I found this unique piece staring at me every day from under the jewelry counter at Jacque Michelle's. I finally had to breakdown and buy it.

Check it out the next time you feel like you're in a shopping rut and just can't find anything cute. I bet you'll get over your losing streak.
